Final mock draft. A bit of a what if, with some rules.

Rule #1, I'm only picking ONE TE, QB, RB and ILB.

Rule #2, if a player falls consider him to be on top of the list for the next round.

Round one:

Trade down, if we can get a 2nd, a 3rd and a 5th in an early to mid slot. If not my order of preference is:
OLB WATT
CB Awuzie
WR Ross
OLB Willis

Round two, NOT picking the same position we selected in round one.

Order of preference:

CB White
OLB Bowser
CB Tankersley
S Evans
QB Webb
S Melifonwu
S Baker

**By now we should have an edge guy and a corner** If not we pick one in round three.

Round three, NOT picking a QB if we picked one in round two. We have two picks in this round!

QB Peterman - As long as Edge and Corner have been selected
TE Shaheen
ILB Anzalone
ILB / Nickel Lee
CB Moreau
OLB Rivers

Round four to five

Order of preference:

RB Hunt
CB Sutton
ILB Walker
OLB Hendrickson
S Jenkins
WR Gentry
WR Adams
RB Hill

Round 6-7

RB Conner
TE Saubert
CB Wilson
RB Jones

White, Baker, Melinfowu won't be there at our 2nd round pick

You would really take Evans and Davis ahead of Baker in round 2? That's crazy talk.

I like Evans. He's a hitter, a ball hawk, and rather athletic . A 1/2 inch short 6' tall with long arms. He is a slot option too and jumps well on film. Mitchell contract tis up in 2 years, and he have zero depth behind Sean Davis, unless you think Shark or Golden is good depth.

Baker had consucison issues, is a little short and light and might not hold up in the NFL due to his playing style. I think he's too small to cover TE's and the bigger receivers.

Don't get me wrong, I'd be happy to have ANY of the guys I liked in the round I placed them in.

You never know. Its a deep DB class. White could go in round one...to us. I do like him.

I watched more of Melinfowu, and felt he needs to make up his mind and react quicker. He's in the defensive back field a 1/2 second too long and should be moving toward the ball sooner.

Melinfowu has the size, speed and other measurables of a top 15 pick, but the instincts to me are that of a guy who's picked later.

You could say if he had another year in school, he could have really improved his stock.

I consider him nickel linebacker too, so his value to me is just not at safety. And since we play nickel the most, he's a starter. With him and Shazier in there, a lot of ground could be covered!

If ONE head injury that put Baker into concussion protocol for one week in his WHOLE career means he has concussion issues, then Evans has knee issues.

the problem is that with Conley's accusation, Sidney Jones and Moreau's injury, there will be 3 CBs that will rise to substitute them: Jackson, King, White. Leaving the first three to fall some and be a risk/reward kind of pick. So, not that deep anymore

Watt also has knee issues, two blown knees in his career. Bowser has orbital bone issues.

LOL.

More on Evans

In his final nine games, he gave up just 19 catches on 32 targets for 107 yards and had two interceptions and six pass break-ups.

A scouting report from PFF

What he does best:

Explosive break and close ability.

Aggressiveness in physicality in coverage also translates to his play against blocks.

Has the ball skills not only to time his breakup without going through the receiver and taking a penalty, but can also high-point and catch the ball away from his frame.

Has outstanding range – can make plays to the boundary on the back end, as well as get to the ball carrier at the line of scrimmage when working from a traditional safety alignment.

Gave up an average of just 8.3 yards per reception and two touchdowns in 2016 while intercepting four passes and breaking up eight.

2 coverage grade ranked third-best among FBS safeties in 2016.

Did not give up a reception longer than 14 yards after September this season.

TMC,

As you know the NFL doesn't give a crap about knees, it's the lawsuits and rule changes that were made to prevent concussions.

I would not put it past the NFL to put in a new player safety rule that says when a blue medical hat person at the game diagnoses a concussion, you're out 4 games. Even for the mild ones.

Also, there can be a difference between concussions that were reported and actually concussions.

The knee surgeries these days are excellent. Orbital bone injuries in football are very rare.

So LOL back and I'll tip my hat to you if Baker is picked in round one. I see no medical red flags with my guy Evans.

CIAO!

IMO, I want to draft Myles Garrett or Jamal Adams in the first round.

anyone after that is a crap shoot.

So, what you are stating is, because you speculate that NFL medical people could start suspended guys for alleged concussions, that a player who left a game over two years ago after he took a helmet to helmet hit from a teammate and did not miss his next start, will have NFL personnel focusing on him because of a one-game issue over 2 years ago.

And yet, you like a guy that missed 2 seasons with 2 separate knee issues and another that is around no one and popped his knee out of its joint and then popped it back in on the field, like he had done it many times before. Those don't bother you at all, but the idea of some phantom rule that MIGHT happen does?

Are you even for real?

Orbital bone injuries are exceptionally rare, Bowser's was not a football injury unless you count a teammate whacking you in the head with his helmet a football injury, and you probably do. You do realize that of all the players brought back to Indy for a medical recheck, none were named Baker.

Really, it is just idiotic to attach a 2-year old blip injury to a guy and call him injury prone when you give a guy who missed half his collegiate career with knee injuries a pass. It is why people stay up your *** all the time. You do dumb ****.

More on the scouting report from PFF:

38 missed tackles in two seasons; ranked 219th in tackling efficiency among FBS safeties in 2016

At least he isn't Sean Davis.

remember, Troy had concussion issues due to the hair in his helmet preventing it from fitting correctly.

Your boy is too small for TE's, too short for the taller WR's, and also has short arms.

The way he plays amplies the concussion risk and you don't have to look far to see there are others that are concerned if his body will hold up. But I'm sure you are aware its out there.

Regarding concussions, expect the NFL to work to hold players out of the games longer if diagnosed.

That is true. Davis missed a lot of tackles, dropped two easy interceptions, and only made one. Very few plays on the ball, but I do like him as a blitzer.

Before you were here I laughed when the coaches tried Davis in the slot....he was pretty bad as a CB in college.

Why did you hate Sean Davis again?

38 missed tackles in two seasons; ranked 219th in tackling efficiency among FBS safeties in 2016

So, wouldn't Evans be worse? He missed WAY more tackles in college than Sean Davis. Wait, you think NFL players are slower. My mistake.

Davis missed a lot of tackles in his first two games. Few after. Coach thinks that the first two games of his NFL career should carry as much weight as the last few.

The difference in arm length between Baker and Evans is 1 1/4". The difference in height is 2". But, you know Evans did not run at the combine and ran at his pro day, where he turned a 4.60. He still hasn't ran a shuttle or cone. He is a couple pounds heavier than Baker but not as strong (Baker had more reps on the bench).

Let me ask you this, how did he do in the Senior Bowl game, not practice, in the actual game.

I know what he thinks, but Evans was a missed tackle machine in college, bad angles and all. He doesn't have great range or long speed. He just latched onto him for some dumb reason. Evans cannot carry Davis' jock and he rode Davis all season and now wants a lesser player. It is just dumb.

davis ******* sucks
thats why he got rookie of the year
