I think it's a joke. Odd sense of humor

He should have said that he thinks he's a great rapper. That would be a joke

In this day and age of guys wanting to get paid, considering such short careers, can you really blame him? I mean, I don't care for his showmanship in this instance, but I also get it. Honestly, I understand both sides of the equation.

Bell claims he isn't joking about threat to sit out season

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell is a man of his word.

Bell tweeted that he'd rather sit out the entire 2017 season than play under the franchise tag, a threat that ordinarily would disrupt the entire NFL community.

The only problem is, Bell chose to voice his threat on April Fools' Bell didn't seem amused that his first tweet was met with derision, and appeared to follow through on his earlier remark.

Both parties have until July 15 to reach a long-term extension, and Steelers personnel are likely hoping their star running back is merely displaying his sense of humor.

Zero upside for Bell. At least this time he didn't make a pot joke on 4-20

I had a bad feeling about it. I knew he wouldn't just play it out. At least not with his best. Not a big threat as he would be in the same boat next year. I'd like to think they saved all that cap room for something. I got a feeling this will be bad. Draft a RB. Just not first round.

Let him sit.....it is his choice and right. All the talent on this offense and they probably will never fully reach how far they can go for one reason or another.

It's a joke, but it isn't funny.

Sitting out for a year has helped who exactly? I can't remember anyone ever sitting out for an entire year, to have a better situation coming back. Perhaps he'll just do some pot so he can "sit out the year" anyway...

If he hadn't ****** up with a prohibited substance he would have the biggest contract for a RB in the nfl, so he has no one to blame but himself for being tagged

The more he talks, the more I think he may have been a bad influence on LeGarrett Blount. I keed......well not really. He is the most talented RB in the league and I am about over him.

They never sit out the whole year. They lose the accrued season and his rights go right back to the Steelers. What they really "threaten" is to sit out until week 10. They still get decent money for the last 6 games ($4.5 million for Bell's case). Save their body and get into free agency next year unless the Steelers tag him again (which would be above $14 million).

He isn't mature enough to know you should never tease the elephant in the room. It's like telling a PLUMBER he has a leak when in reality he doesn't. Eventually a leak will show up and guess how much damage there has accurred....... Bell has damaged things with this ASSinine prank / seriousness / point. He is pretty good at what he does but even at that one can wear out his welcome. HURT when needed most, suspended when needed, the list is piling up. DrAFT at RB for a need because this is becoming a need. ..........

As for his "rap" career, keep on rappin and maybe it will fill in your unemployment / sittin out time. WHO buys this ****??? To each there own but soon his friends will get tired and be gone when his money isn't there.

ONE more thing, what ever happened to TEAM sport???? I totally understand the $$$money now aspect but it is all about the money with every player now. Part of it is the NFL it self as they have made everything about the almighty dollar, thus it has rubbed off onto the players. I don't fault BELL for wanting the absolutely most $$coin as possible but what about being a man with character?? Why go through the this me me me me ****??? Why not go in and sit down with the Rooney's and state your intentions and NOT make every ******* aspect of your life and (crappy) intentions known to the world? Integrety has left with parenting.......TRUE parenting. Not the "best friend" parenting or the broken parent parenting. The disciplined and accountable parenting is a lost art in today's society, let's hope things are taken care of with respect and not so much me me me.

I don't disagree, but his injuries played atleast as much of a role in the tag. We didn't use much cap space for free agency, so offer him a fair deal, that works for both sides, and if he doesn't like it, he can sit out all he wants.

Steelers should draft McCaffrey and tell Bell to STFU and go make mor squid rap videos. His nonsense is wearing thin. Good or not he's still one stupid thing away from not playing in 412 anymore.

You're not bigger then the game Bell..
