What is your position guess for the draft?

My guess is the first three rounds the Steelers come away with an edge rusher, wide receiver, tight end, and corner back. I think the final rounds 4-7 the Steelers come away with safety, running back, quarterback, and offensive lineman.
 
EDGE and CB in rounds 1 and 2 with preferably EDGE in Rd 1. Rd 3 WR and TE. If the draft played out this way, I would be pretty happy.

I think the players drafted matter more than position. For example, would we be happy with Jarvis Jones as the edge rusher and Dri Archer as the WR?
 
First 3 rounds will definitely include: OLB, CB and TE
Seeing as how there are 4 picks in the first 3 rounds, the other will be a S or RB IMO.

We need someone who can knock QBs on their ***. We need that desperately.

Absolutely but I am hoping we can get a top EDGE rusher and CB in rounds 1 and 2 that can contribute immediately and end up playing on our roster for a long time. That doesn't always happen but that's what we really need to happen this year.
 
I think they are open to edge rusher or corner whichever has more value at 1.32 then they take the other in round 2. Probably TE in 3.

I want a OLB/Edge, a CB who can play either outside or the slot, and a TE and QB with our picks in rounds 1-3.

If the value is not there for the QB in round three, I'll be happy with ILB as long as he's a three down player.

In rounds 4-7 I'd like a RB, S, DB, and WR/KR.
 
what we will see first 5 picks my guestimation
OLB /CB /S/WR/ILB

round 1 - S or OLB
round 2 CB or ILB or TE
round 3 QB or WR
round 4 RB
 
R 1-2 either LB or DB in either order
R 3a double up on either LB or DB. If I have to settle, i say LB
R 3b receiver of some type. I picked TE, i think, in that Mock. I will stick with that.

Top pass rusher James Harrison turns 39 in May and would ideally be used as a rotational player at this stage of his career. 2013 first-round bust Jarvis Jones and longtime ILB Lawrence Timmons both left in free agency. The Steelers need to find a long-term bookend for Bud Dupree. Two-down thumper Vince Williams is the top in-house candidate to succeed Timmons.

The Steelers only thought enough of top CB Ross Cockrell to give him the lowest restricted free agent tender, while 32-year-old slot corner William Gay’s roster security is in doubt. Even after the club used its 2016 first-round pick on Artie Burns, Pittsburgh beat writers have repeatedly identified cornerback as a pressing team need.

Short on playmakers beyond Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell, the Steelers’ offense became limited by the end of last season. Slot man Eli Rogers took on too big of a role, and OC Todd Haley was forced to lean on plodding Cobi Hamilton as a starter in two-receiver sets. The Steelers are approaching anything they get from suspended WR Martavis Bryant as a bonus. Sammie Coates remains an enigmatic project entering year three.

Norris’ Mock Draft

Round 1 (30): EDGE Carl Lawson, Auburn - Lawson screams Steelers to me. Squatty, bulked up and powerful. He can win with a rip move around the edge as well as up-field explosion to turn the corner once at quarterback depth. Hand use and vision are apparent when playing the run.

Round 2 (62): CB Cordrea Tankersley, Clemson - Tankersley has the length to fit in a press Cover 2 system. Do not forget his name in this deep corner class. He only tested in the 22nd percentile, but the Steelers don’t seem to prioritize athleticism at the position (Artie Burns was in the 28th percentile).

Round 3 (94): TE Adam Shaheen, Ashland - I know the Steelers seem to favor big school prospects, but they landed a gem in last year’s third round in personal favorite Javon Hargrave. Shaheen is from an even lower level of football, but one executive was quoted as saying he is the third best tight end prospect in this class.

Round 3 (105): WR Chad Hansen, Cal - Hansen is an athletic receiver who is still learning to play the game. He has a handful of ridiculous circus catches on his resume, but only played on one side of the field (right) and produced in just one season.

I keep reading articles about how bad or not very good Eli Rogers is. What is that based on? He has played the slot in basically one season in the NFL and that was interrupted in the middle due to injuries. But, when on the field, he played well. And, Ben and the coaches have given him rave reviews. So, what gives? From what I have seen, if he is healthy this year, I can easily see him catching 60+ balls and that's not too bad at all.
 
my position will be feet up on the coffee table trying to not fall asleep since we pick so damn late... and knowing whomever we pass on the P*ts will pick and turn into a goddamned ******* perennial All-Pro.
