Get no news in NC on anything Steelers. What is the word on Williams, is he gone our we keeping him? Hadn't heard anything on him.

It doesn't appear that way. I imagine the team plans to draft LeVeon's backup, but I wouldn't mind letting him stick around and compete to see if he can still play. I like him as a player and as a person and hate to see him go after all he's done in a Steelers uniform in a short time. Just hard to imagine a 35 year old RB being productive

ESPN reported yesterday that he was still in the mix.

Bring him back. I think he'd sign vet minimum too

Bell will get hurt at some point this year. we need Dwill.I don't think it is a luxury

If Bell gets hurt or suspended sign DWill then. I don't think teams will be pounding down his door to sign him anytime soon.

The Steelers are not expected to re-sign free agent RB DeAngelo Williams.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Ed Bouchette believes that "ship has sailed." Williams did a great job filling in for Le'Veon Bell the past couple seasons, but Bouchette expects Pittsburgh to address running back in the draft and get younger there. Turning 34 next month, Williams hasn't drawn an ounce of known interest but could be waiting for training camp to sign.

DWill was all class on and off the field. Will be sorry to see him leave. We do need to get younger.

Keep him on speed dial and see how the draft shakes out. If, for some reason, we dont draft an RB, then bring him back for sure.

Hell of a career for Williams. I'd like to see him back, but in all honesty I'm not sure if there is anything left in that tank. Looks as though they are rolling with a draft pick And Knile Davis. Davis needs to hold onto that ball when he's called upon. Something that he seems to forget from time to time.
I'm hoping the team takes a flyer on Connor in the fourth

Met him and his family last summer at Johnny D's waffles in Myrtle Beach. Helluva nice guy. He was super friendly and must have heard me explaining to my little girl how lucky she was that maybe she could get to meet such a great player.

After breakfast he came over to our table and pulled out a chair and sat down and started to chat it up for a few minutes. Maybe he saw my Steelers shirt or maybe he overheard me.

He was a genuinely down to earth good dude. He told me that I was a lucky guy to have such a beautiful family and thanked us all for our support. My little girl gave him a gooooooo Steelers!

Conner 4th rnd and a rotation
bell
davis
conner
and see if Fitz puts up a good fight vs Conner and Davis.

Thanks everyone, hate to see him go. Williams was class and did his job, was dependable on the field.

ESPN sucks

IMO there is nobody we will draft, or whom we have signed, who will be better than D next year.

The draft will reveal the team's true plans. If Pittsburgh selects a tailback in the mid-rounds next month, that might close the chapter on Williams in Pittsburgh. If they decide to fill other needs, Williams could be a good late-spring or summertime signing, just in time for training camp.

In Pittsburgh, Williams dropped weight to around 215 pounds and rushed for 11 touchdowns as a fill-in starter in 2015. One more year backing up Bell isn't out of the question, even with an uncertain outlook at present.

Pretty sure we will draft idiots. Does anybody think this team values intelligence? This is a comfortable place for athletic idiots to contend and get beaten by smarter players and coaches every year. The Steeler Way.

Thing is I think the true plan is to BPA at WR/RB/CB/S/TE/OLB/ILB/QB ...... so you figure as the draft dwindles, the more they will think perhaps one more player at a position is needed. Especially if they have to double up at a position listed, because the value is too good to pass up.

As I think about the depth on this team and look at the positions of need. We know OLBer,TE,CB, and WR are significant needs. But outside of OLBer and perhaps corner...very hard to tell the pecking order..........

They have a board and I think value wise they will stick with it for the most part. I am sure there is some wiggle room there........
