The Steelers are expected to meet with a former first-round pick as they look for help on the defensive line.

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports that defensive lineman Tyson Alualu is scheduled to fly into Pittsburgh Monday for a meeting with the team. The Jaguars made Alualu the 10th overall pick of the 2010 draft and he has spent the last seven years in Jacksonville.

Worth a shot, we need all the help we can get on that DL

If Mathews leaves another FA is definitely needed

He's a rotation guy, just what we need to give our china dolls some rest

Whats the price of a plane ticket? Bring them ALL in - stop being so stingy!

He actually has been a very consistent player for the Jags. Nothing special but I also think he would fit a little better as a 34 DE. If I remember correctly the Steelers liked him coming out of the draft so this definitely has Colbert written all over it.

He'd have to be an upgrade over Matthews. Sign him up!

Knile Davis and Coty Sensenbaugh also visiting

What happened to Davis? 13 TD's (rushing and returning) his first two years, and 1 since then. A lot of returns the first 2-3 years, last 2 almost nothing.

Missed an entire season I think. Fell too low on the depth chart to get a helmet.

I like Alualu. Doesn't need to be a star or even start, but he's a decent player. Great depth move where it's needed.

I looked a bit for an injury related issue, but didn't see one. Saw a trade for a 7th round conditional player, then a few waivers.

too stupid to learn a playbook.
University of Arkansas.
'nuff said.

Tyson Alualu would be a solid signing IMO, hopefully this one gets done.

Oh to a fly on the wall. Let me take a stab at it!

Steelers: Tyson, we want you to play here and be part of a super bowl team.

Tyson sounds good Mr. Colbert.

Tomlin: Contrary to reports, there is a good sushi place in the burgh. I reserved a private table for you, you're significant other, and my wife.

Tyson's agent. Before some pleasure, let's talk a little business. My client has been offered a starting position a few other teams. My sources tell me you've got quite a bit of cap space here in Pittsburgh, but your tax rate is a little higher than some areas, and I must look out for my client's best financial interests.

There is an awkward pause....

Colbert: We prepared to offer Mr. Alualu over a million a season, plus a $500,000.00 signing bonus.

Tyson's agent: Does this include one of the family racetracks, its a little on the light side.

Tomlin: Did I mention out soft cover 2 scheme Tyson? We made it all the way to the AFC championship game with that defense!

Tyson: Coach Tomlin, will I start?

Tomlin: We can introduce you as a starter on our Monday Night football game if you sign today....

Tyson's agent: Gentlemen, Thank you for your time. I love visiting this lovely city. Code for we'll get back to you!

Prediction: Tyson Alualu's agent won't accept the Steelers blue light special offer unless it's his only offer.

Hawaiian's are big white rice and chicken. So thinking you might not be far off with the sushi reference.

But if he doesn't like it, I damn sure do.

So where is this restaurant at?

:tan:

Alualu would be more than depth. He's good enough to play in rotation an we know the steelers want to lower the snaps that Tuitt and Heyward are playing so they can stay fresh longer.

It would also mean the steelers could pretty much ignore DL in the draft until late.

They could be well set up to trade up in RD 1 if they must to ensure they get the pass rush OLB that they need.
