L. Green......should the Steelers cut ties ?

If he is STILL on cuncussion protocol.................Then we need to get him cleared for play and then CUT ties. I see an injury settlement at the very least. 1st round trade up 15 spots TE BaBy !!!!!

the Steelers not just should cut ties, they should have severed them at the start of FA

He STILL hasn't passed concussion protocols?

Ladarius Green (concussion) plans to be attend offseason workouts.

Green hasn't been medically cleared, but the Steelers are expecting him back.

wonderful. we have a player on the roster whose brain has been rendered into tapioca, likely not going to get better anytime soon. who the **** are the team doctors who signed off on this guy's physical??? This guy??

If Green is truely still in protocol and we waved him, wouldn't we be stuck on some kind of injury settlement??? If we waited this long and he is near or perceived to be near cleared, then keep and wave after the fact.

That article is a joke. I wonder when that quote from Green was from. You'd figure they would have asked him how he is doing; if he has any more symptoms; if this is a reoccurring issue; etc. All we get is he "expects to come back". That actually makes me feel he is still having symptoms and is not doing very well.

wait until he clears and cut ties

seriously too much of a risk...........

If he isn't cleared by this point, the Steelers have to go into the draft with the mindset that he isn't coming back.

draft jake Butt asa insurance policy in the 3rd

I'm not saying it's right but knowing the history of this club I think they will give him another season. As with Jarvis Jones it's like they have to be hit over the head with a shovel to accept some things. The type of collision that he sustained is nearly impossible to avoid as an NFL TE. Clear the linebackers but underneath the safety is the bread and butter play. But legally or illegaly you are gonna get stroked on that play over the course of a season at least 5 or 6 times. I don't think from what I saw he can withstand it. Though I was reasonably happy with Grimble and not really sure what a third round TE would bring to the table over James, Grimble and the blocker Johnson.

OJ Howard #1 baby! The next Mark Bruener/Heath Miller!

enough of these cast-offs and wanna bees! WE need the BEST for Ben.

Move up to get him if you have to - throw Green in the deal!

Jesse James is not a starting TE. He is good No 2 TE. That being said if Martavis comes back and is available all 16 games then yes you can get by with James as your starter. Why because the attention Bryant Brown and Bell will draw. James gets open because they draw the attention. Green gets open because he is big and fast and that's why the Steelers continue to hold on to him. Until they can replace that type of athlectism he will remain.

Da fuq? Guy misses all of camp, the first half of the season with concussion symptoms, err I mean "ankle", plays three games, and goes back out with concussion symptoms , err I mean "ankle", from hitting the ground not all that hard. Not just a matter that the guy can't play, he shouldn't play.

The guy is too concussion prone. Why did they sign him back? Baffled

They didn't. He has a two year contract.

He's like a fighter who got knocked out one too many times. You can have the best chin in the world but if you get knocked out a few times the wind can blow hard and KO you. It never gets better only worse.

Butt is one of the best TE's in this class. His rating has fallen due to his injury this year. If we can get him in the 3rd or 4th, that would be a steal.

Thats a great way of putting it

The hit that eventually sent him to sweatpants again was not even the hit that did the most damage from what I saw that game. Earlier in the same game he took a pretty good shot to the head, he went to the sidelines and looked dazed. How the hell does a guy with his history avoid the concussion dr. on the sidelines and how the hell do the coaches lack the awareness and put him back into that game when he likely had a concussion already? I couldn't believe it when I saw him return to the field figuring he was already probably done for season/career.

I would put the probability of him playing in 6 or more games at less than 10%... At 6.1 million I would cut ties, eat the cap hit now, allow the man to ride off into the sunset (with a padded helmet).

If I recall correctly, the shot that knocked him out for the season wasn't a hit to the head but his head hitting the ground after being tackled. I could be wrong but that's what I seem to remember.

I was super pumped when we picked him up but I think one good shot to the head and we lose him for the season.
I doubt he makes it to game 5.

He'll be out week 3 imo. He's just way too concussion prone. Poor dude, love the Steelers but I do not wish a guys future well being at stake for my amusement. As a fan appreciate the effort put forth to try, but I would not be mad if he leaves gets cut etc

Exactly. If memory serves correct it was about a quarter or so earlier in that game when he took a pretty decent head shot. I remember making the comment that when he came of the field that he likely had a concussion. I was really surprised when he went to the sideline that the league dr. for protocol wasn't waiting there for him. He looked dazed. I was even more surprised when he returned to the field thinking to myself he is really risking his career/future health being out there right now. A few plays for him later and his final play occurred when he hits the ground, his head was likely swimming before that play that ended his season. I'd have to watch the game again to be more specific.
