lol Landry Jones set to return on a two year contract

Draft a guy that beats him out for #2 and you cut him next year. Not a bad plan.

So we're not going to upgrade our backup quarterback via free agency. Do you think will try to get a quarterback in the draft?

I bet we could get RGIII cheap as a back-up!

You "pot" stirrer !!! Bet you couldn't even pass a piss test......... Wait...stirrer, not smoker....... Probably ok.

RGIII was never used right, here, we'll dress him well and USE him right !!!

Jones may be here for 10 more years. I can see the Steelers drafting Ben's replacement in the next few years and Landry will remain as backup and tutor.

If i thought the steelers were still invested in Landry as heir apparent, i'd be upset but looking at all the QBs the steelers are visiting, it seems thy know Landry is a career backup. That's fine. There can be value in a guy who knows his place and is fine with it. If Landry wanted to start, he might butt heads with a younger QB, but if he is happy to be a backup, then he will embrace the role of tutor and help him develop.

What is Landry going to provide as a tutor? How to hold a clipboard? I guess the old saying is true "Those that can, do and those that can't, teach". Apologies to any teachers or teacher's spouses out there but I was an MTI and I got ragged about it.

Jones is a below average backup. Are you telling me there aren't ANY free agent QBs better who would to play for a contender with the same amount of money given to Jones?

All you people who want a better backup, go ahead. Tell me the free agent backup that is better than Landry. And if you do come up with a name, could you get him for the peanuts Landry just signed for?

Here you go

The only other guy I'd even want is Matt McGloin because he has real game experience and has done OK when he's played. He's also shown an ability to learn offense quickly and he's not afraid to make throws which is my biggest knock on Landry.

Brian Hoyer sucks. He just got 2 years 12 Mil with 10 guaranteed. I would go apeshit if the Steelers gave Hoyer that money.

Go ahead, somebody say Jay Cutler or Ryan Fitzpatrick. You want RG3?.

Fact is, there was only 1 real upgrade to Landry and that was Mike Glennon who got starter money.

YES, that's what I'm telling you. Have a look for yourself and tell me this gem of a QB that is without a team and willing to play for 600k guaranteed.

Every one of those quarterbacks is better than Jones. OK just saw RGIII which is kinda pushing it, but he can at least run instead of just standing in there and sucking. Also what's really mind boggling is how long he's been around. They've had years to get someone better.

I don't agree, but how much do you pay them? you REALLY think Hoyer is work $10m guaranteed? I'd agree Cutler and Fitz are, but what are you going to pay them? I like Glennon, but no way I'd pay him starter money.

The league is full of BU's that suck.

At this point, Landry should know the offense backwards and forwards. His personality also seems friendly and approachable. Him signing this deal shows he's a team player, really want to be here and has accepted that he's a backup. Thos are all the things you need in a tutor.

You always hear talk about the "rooms" on a team. This refers to the fact that during the week, the players are all divided up by positions and spend most time in a room with their position coach and their fellow position players.

That means a QB room is usually just the QB Coach, the starter, the backup, a practice squad guy, and then a #3 QB if they have one. That's just 4 or 5 guys in a room. The starter is most time NOT going to tutor anybody. What, he's going to help you take his job?

Imagine the steelerts draft a QB in this draft. Landry will most likely be the guy who teaches the kid the most, answers most of his questions. The QB coach has to prepare Ben each week, and a young guy may not want to ask his coach questions, and won't want to ask Ben, so Landry will be the guy.

It's like in college, the professor gives the lecture, then there's a TA that answers questions. That could be Landry.

I say Laundry is good enough at the price we pay VS the cap room. Draft next year and pray we hit.!!!!!
