Jones may be here for 10 more years. I can see the Steelers drafting Ben's replacement in the next few years and Landry will remain as backup and tutor.

If i thought the steelers were still invested in Landry as heir apparent, i'd be upset but looking at all the QBs the steelers are visiting, it seems thy know Landry is a career backup. That's fine. There can be value in a guy who knows his place and is fine with it. If Landry wanted to start, he might butt heads with a younger QB, but if he is happy to be a backup, then he will embrace the role of tutor and help him develop.

I can certainly live with this contract
 
For a long time the Steelers have kept too many marginal players because they place too much weight on "He knows our system".
Well ****, Bill Belichick knows your system too.

He's only guaranteed his signing bonus of $600k so that is not too bad 2 years 4.4 million.

8 years in the league and always practice squad eligible. Props to him, he earned a cool $4M over his career. He played in 3 games, starting 1 in his last season for Carolina. Not bad for 33 total passes attempted and 5 rushes!
 
Landry Jones is horseshit, can't believe they can't see that after how many seasons. Your backup QB should be able to give you a chance to win. 2016 Wildcard with the game on the line in Cinci and it's pretty obvious that Jones has no shot in hell of even advancing the ball up the field. Thankfully Ben was able to come back in the game. Landry did have that victory last season over Cleveland though.
