Johnny Manziel - Worth a 2nd chance?

I'd invite Tebow before I invited Manzel

dude, just .... no.

tebow .... nice guy, but man he was bad ... i mean like bad on an epic level... his one summer in New England was just putrid, harkening back to the days of michael bishop

I would give him a chance.

If I am the GM of a hypothetical team I signed him right now for league minimum contingent on him attending and successfully completing a 90 day rehab. Then once he's out of rehab he lives with a sober companion through spring OTA's into camp. While doing this he attends twice weekly AAA meetings. He resumes living with a sober companion and twice weekly AA after camp until the end of the season. Put it in the contract that any use of alcohol or illicit drugs and he's gone instantaneously. If he's Catholic he gets to do communion with grape juice. If he makes it through The whole season and the next year's camp we can talk about relaxing the restrictions and renegotiation. Barring that then no dice.

I think you answered the QUESTION. If I'd have to go through all this BULLSHIT, why would I want him. There are others with way more talent and way les BS.

no offense DIC, but your pass defense kinda sucks, and has for years. . the game was in denver, they had a stout defense, they were able to exploit that in the 2nd quarter and then ride their defense to the end of the game.... that game was like the perfect storm for tebow.

no, no a thousand times NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:faint2:

**** no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Better chance of a snowball going through hell without melting.

We already have our own toxic twins in Bell and Brown, I think that is enough headache for a team. We don't need to add to it. Johnny can take his nose powder elsewhere.........

Where is the idea he has the talent to be a nfl qb coming from? He had like one decent pro game vs us... he was backup at best talent to 90% of the league which is why he isnt still on a roster... nfl squads overlook a lot for a qb with real talent....

For the billionth time, college good doesnt equal nfl good...

Too small, not accurate enough, doesn't have the work ethic to work on his craft and not good enough to get away with it (like Ben from 2004-2008). I've said many times that running QB's can work in college, running QB's in the NFL get broke in half.

You answered the question. TEBOW over Johnny bench any day. I understand what you are saying and I'm not debating why Tim won. I used that as to why I'd take Tebow over Johnny. Johny would NOT have defeated the STEELRS that day.

he wasn't used properly............ I would give him a chance on any other team than the Steelers then just sit back and wait for the implosion.

If I were the Texans, I would bring him in for vet min and watch him closely.

DID you happen to note that the last name wasn't capitalized??? It's a bench, as in something you sit on..... Sorry to offend your cupcake *** but I was NOT disrespecting one of my child hood heros. A little sensitive maybe??? In all due respect, I'm sorry if you were offended about the possible offense of someone whom you may not even know, but this is America and we survived the Pilgims when they attacked Pearl Harbor. We survived the Japanese when they landed at Area 51 and we sure as hell will survive a misconstrued comparison of a bench associated with the sitting of a player. GOOD DAY SIR.

One last thing, Johnny football hasn't been working out at all. He is soft and really soft. Could he even be in football shape by the mini-camps coming up??? That in itself would take an amazing amount of dedication and I'm definately not seeing "it" from Johnny. I think he will be riding the "bench" through his entire comeback, yet alone making a team.
