I haven't decided what to have yet. Anybody got any good recipes or inspirations? What's on your menu?

sour grapes and salty tears.

I doubt we have people over. not real sure I will watch it. really hard to watch a *'s game with all of the knob gobbling that goes on. Plus Lady Gaga has said something about making a political statement during the halftime show (as if I would watch that part anyway). If the NFL ain't willing to tell her **** NO, I don't feel a need to contribute.

The Event sucks if your team is not in it. It has turned into a circus. Red carpet and **** like that. They need to cut the nonsense and also move the game to Saturday night.
Plus nothing is more frustrating than trying to actually watch the game at a "super Bowl party" where 75% of the people don't know **** or give a **** about the game.

If that's the case with the meat wearing weirdo chick then I'll pass on the super bowl halftime show. Maybe watch some qvc or free style paint dry watching. If Atlanta doesn't look like they have the game in hand by then I'll go to bed anyway.

i plan on going in and working over time that night

Might as well have called this thread "Why aren't you going to watch the Super Bowl?"

lowB repuS party every year at my bud's house in Wexford. Mrs. Burgundy is making her famous taco ring.

My wing recipe:
Bake wings on a cookie sheet for 1 hour at 400*.
For sauce, in a pot melt 2/3 cup of butter, 1/2 cup Frank's Red Hot sauce, 1/4 cup of honey.
If necessary put them in a crock pot on low.

Probably just pizza and a random assorment of pot luck type food. Chips and salsa. I don't know if Sadie's ships salsa past the southwest region, but if they do. I recommend that particular brand

Not even thinking about it. Not going to a SB party and not planning anything around it. Hope the Pats lose. Might watch some of it, but watching the NFL is too painful when it isn't the Steelers. Between the hard-on commercials, which make it unsuitable for the kids, too many commercials in general, too many penalties, too much blithering by the announcers, and too much non-football stuff in general - it just sucks. I don't know why anyone who isn't completely invested in a particular game would ever tune in to any NFL game.

I predict a record low viewership for this SB. They will blame it on Atlanta, but its because the product sucks for the audience who built it.

Going to my buddies. Gonna make some bacon buffalo dip. Found it on Facebook. Basically it's like buff chicken dip but with bacon.

At my bud's house the men watch the game on a big screen in the garage while making beer all day and smoking cigars. The womenfolk are upstairs in the kitchen making food and bring it to us.

If you steam wings in batches for a few minutes then there won't be all the smoke when you bake them because it will render out some of the fat. You can also pressure cook them for a short time. Then i pat them dry, brush them with melted butter to help the skin get crispy and bake them on parchment paper on a cookie sheet. Parchment paper won't let them stick and saves scraping a pan when you clean up.

Yeah well you are a different kind of cat, Ron Burgundy -

We are having sliders this year and buffalo chicken dip. In the past I've made wings with a sweet and hot sauce. Pretty much just Frank's hot sauce, vinegar and a pile of sugar.

smoked wings and possibly chicken and sausage gumbo

Jalepeno cheese stuffed soft pretzels with a dip made of tostinos queso cheese dip and pepperage farm hot and sweet mustard.

Here's to hoping you enjoy your Sunday afternoon this weekend, mr. pleasant *raises glass*

You just wake up from a coma? The superbowl has been a "circus"for 25+ years now

I'll probably eat a bag full of crushed crackers for the game, seeing as I'm so miserable and all, with my hurt feelings and whatnot over the Steelers losing the AFCCG. Crummy old superbowl! I bet no one watches! Harumph!
