I though Ben played good enough to win. It's not his fault Coates and Hamilton dropped passes that could have been huge.

But help me out. On the interception, it appeared that Heyward-Bey was sprinting in a straight line, without any idea of where the ball was going, and not looking back.

What they heck was he thinking?

He saw a sign in the stands that said RUN FORREST RUN.

And that sums it up this season Coach. Ben dearly missed Bryant, Wheaton and Miller. You had all role players except for Brown Sunday night. DHB, Coates, Rogers,Hamilton, James, DWill all of them role players. Ben did a great job with what he had to work with.

Ben played a GREAT ******* game on Sunday.

He single-handed turned Jesse James into an actual receiving threat. AND he made Eli Rogers into a serviceable receiver. He even managed to get the ball to Brown while he was double and triple covered by The cheaters #1 AND #2 Corners and every now and the a safety as well.

He had Hamilton drop 2 touchdowns. And those weren't "tough catches" Those were full on "Ah ****" drops. He had Coates drop 4 balls, one of which would have probably immediately changed the defensive attitude of the cheaters out of the gate.

Then he had Hamilton negate a TD catch with a rookie move. Hamilton was worth 14 to 21 pts by himself, by the way. Coates was worth another 3. So you're looking at a minimum of a 17 to 24 pt swing. If you add the 1 that Boswell gave up early - That's the ballgame.

Ben did enough. The defense? Well... Not so much.

I thought it was Ben's only brutal play of the game. I was ready to quit watching, pretty much as it left his hands I was going for the remote. You could see by the trajectory that it was ******.

Ben chucked that with the safety over the top. Really can't blame Ben for much at that point in the game. Probably a frustration throw more than anything. I felt being there in person Ben had a solid game minus the drops and the non-PI calls.

Didn't think it was on him based on the body language of DHB on the sidelines after the play while talking with the coaches. Either way, he did what he could and I agree completely with Wig. James is an okay No. 2 tight end and outside of AB, the next best receiver would be the No. 4 (DHB or Rogers) if Bryant and Wheaton were in the lineup. Coates was useless with his injury and Hamilton is a borderline roster player.

I never really cared much for DHB, couldn't ever understand what some people here saw/see in him that makes them think he improves this team in any way.

This was Ben's best playoff game by a mile. Its too bad his receivers and the team's defense couldn't contribute at all....

DHB might have been in the wrong place but the ball was thrown up like a hail Mary. Don't see how there was much hope there.

Hail Mary? The ball was thrown on a rope.

I agree, Ben did play a good game. The receivers on this team outside of brown didn't do enough. To be honest though, they aren't guys that are supposed to be in those spots anyway. Outside of Rogers, Coates, Hamilton, and DHB are scrubs. Hamilton and DHB are JAGs where Coates is a jagoff. The 2 and 3 spots were supposed to be Bryant and Wheaton. Bryant's loss lingered somewhat during the season, but this was the game where his loss loomed very large. New England took brown outta the game and dared those other guys to step up. Well they didn't even come close.

Ya, don't even get me started on the 2 non calls for PI because the refs were letting them play. (I'm ok with that. It's just that the Steelers DBs didn't take advantage of the Ref's leniency.) But we had one 1st down lost because a P*ts defender ran right into a receiver without ever looking back at the ball and it happened again in the end-zone. That could have been another TD. So instead of an 18 - 25 pt swing, you're looking at a 25 - 32 pt swing. Add the 17 pts they DID score and the Steelers may very well have kicked the P*ts ***.

But it's all for nothin'. Cause Sammie Coates can't catch the clap in a Thai whorehouse.

After James showed he was going to be productive, Chung then hugged, mugged and jersey tugged sans yellow hankie. Came to a point where Ben started barking at the sidelines judge. Perhaps the frustration on Ben's part came from the number of "non-calls" or calls that just never benefitted the guys wearing the Black & Gold uniforms (fumble)?
I don't subscribe to conspiracy theories, an old coach of mine used to preach two important football facts:
1. Never allow a ref the chance to influence the outcome of the game and
2. If you watch a QB pass the football you'll also watch somebody catch it.

Why is everyone so high on Wheaton or thinking he was needed? I do not get what people see in him as he would often disappear. I think Rodgers is as good and personally i say better than wheaton. Bryant should be the #2 with AB #1 and Rodgers in the slot. Coates is going to have to show ALOT to save grace on the team. He already maybe mentally shot. That leaves DHB, Ayers, and Hamilton. Ayers and Hamilton both showed some potential and we already know what DHB brings. Going to be a tough camp battle at WR that is for sure.

The Wheaton factor" aside, these young WR's haven't had enough game time and Brown was double & triple covered. Coates dropped passes and DHB blew a route ending in an INT for crissakes. Even those two showed what missing game time looks like in reality!

I get angry as hell when I think about what the 2016 Steelers could have been with Martavis Bryant on the field

Someone change the subject

Ben did zero wrong look how many times he stared at the receiver including hot shot brown as if what are you doing. To many receivers dropping balls or in coates not putting much effort what do you do as a qb.
