I am also of the mindset to pull BBin that situation. Plus the game was chippy at points and Suh isn't going to play nice in the sand box.

Yea that would have been the smart play....And especially since this was the first time the big 3 actually got to start a playoff game healthy...

And by the looks of it they STILL haven't finished a playoff game healthy....
 
Per DeCastro, that play was a pass from the beginning, Ben didn't audible to it.
 
Ben should have been pulled at least midway thru the 4'th quarter. There was nothing to be gained by keeping him in with only risk and subject him to a possible injury or cheap shot which guys like Suh are known for. Play your back-up in mop-up time. That's one of the reasons you have these back-ups to give them playing time when the opportunity presents itself and there was no better time than yesterday midway thru the 4'th quarter.
Sorry guys who want to defend Tomlin but that's part of what a head coaches job, protecting his star players from themselves. Sure Ben is a super competitor and I get that he wants to be on the field with his guys so that's why you as the HC have to reel him in and make him understand that like AB and LevBell, you live to fight another day, namely in KC next week. I would say this no matter who the HC is for the Steelers. It has nothing to do with the fact that its Mike Tomlin, it was just a stupid and poor decision and hopefully Ben is 100% next week because if not, we're in deep trouble.
 
I was hoping that Ben was pulled, but honestly the game wasn't exactly over. Just under 5 mins any freakish thing could happen to get Steeler Nation nervous. It's single digit weather and you put Landry in a situation that you want a couple 1st downs to drain some clock. I'm not very confident in that situation. Ben needed to finish off the game.

There is blame to go around from Haley, Ben, Tomlin, and OLine. Everyone needs to be accountable. If this means Tomlin is a (insert your criticism), than you can say that for 100% of the other Head coaches in the NFL.

Bell was likely sat because he carried the rock like 29 times...that's a huge workload....Harrison sat because hes older than T Rex fossile. Ben only threw it 18 times...and lost his rhythm after the first ten tosses.
 
I think most people agree that he should have been out of the game at that point (I do, anyway, and said as much to the ******** in my house). Several of us seem to agree that it wasn't the dumbest decision ever to leave him in. The fact is, regardless of whatever the decision made by the coaches or the play called, he has to be smarter than to allow that to happen. He could have audibled out of the play (if DeCastro is stating the truth and I doubt anyone will say anything other than what DeCastro said regardless of the truth) or thrown the ball away.

The issue, with me, anyway is the "anyone who knows anything about football" bullshit. I showed where the greatest most bestest HC in the world plays his older franchise QB while up 2-3 scores and still throwing passes, although he did pull the QB late in the last game. Does hoodie no longer know anything about football?

You mean when we turtled up and went run-run-pass-punt for most of the second half.
 
The problem is Ben has injury history, and a long history to boot. Guy has only completed like 2 seasons without an injury. And he's older now. Dont be stupid, sit his ***.
 
Who gives a **** what other coaches do, I don't cheer for them, but if you want to bring up other teams how did that work out for the Raiders?

everytime I see that tackle technique (hold the guy at the waist and then fall back into his feet and behind the knees)..... I cringe.

That's how Bell's knee was taken out by Burfict, and I see that in a lot of games. Someone did it to Bell on Sunday again, but if he feels that, he sort of slides and goes with the tackle.

Bringing up the Raiders is dumb as **** and has no relevance whatsoever. Hey, how did it work out for every injured QB, ever??? Not good, or else they wouldn't be injured, right??!!

Nobody. But when people say the coach is stupid for doing something it is, often, referred to as something other coaches are smarter and wouldn't due such a think. The vast majority of the time, this is, simply, not true. Hence, no one cares what those coaches do, until, of course, they do something different from Tomlin, then it is importanter,

Those tackles are more dangerous than horse collars IMO.
