Who remembers watching the last Miami/Steelers playoff game?

I just did some quick looking and thinking, there are only two AFC teams we haven't played in the playoffs since playing the Dolphins.(Oakland, and Houston) though we did play the Houston Oilers in the 89 playoffs. Amazing the two of the leagues more storied franchises have had this 30+ year gap in playoff games.

I think it's more amazing that we haven't played the pats in the playoffs since 04/05

Damn. Such a cool thread. Malone seemd like he could've been a good QB. I wasn't born during this game. So to hear all your guys stories--pretty cool

Lol it's crazy for me reading this because my dad always told me growing up Malone was the worst we ever had.

It was back in 85 and Malone was at the helm. That's about all I can remember.

We had the lead for a moment, and I had two thoughts One game away from the lowB repuS, and please Malone don't turn the ball over!

I remember a drunken Hammerin Hank predicting the Dolphins blow out on NBC pregame. Pissed me off to no end.

I remember the 72 game was actually blacked out in Pittsburgh, we had to drive to my grandparents house in North Canton OH to watch it.

I remember wondering why on Earth wasn't David Woodley starting the game? Even back in 1984, I hated Mark Malone.... and for some reason I actually thought that David Woodley having played for the Dolphins would give us a better chance. But since we were getting steamrolled either way as there was only one way the Steelers would have won that game.

If Dan Rooney would have stuck to his guns about drafting Dan Marino in 1983.

Thankfully he never forgot that lesson when 2004 came around.

Listened to it on a transistor radio in my Buddy's back yard while we played tackle football...

That fake punt still stings!

If you believe in trends, the teams have meet 3 times in the playoffs. Each time the winning team played in the super bowl

I'll take it, if only because that means the Pats get beat in the next 2 weeks.

Can't say I watched it... back then I was working my way through college so spent most of my weekends at the local department store.

I DID work in the home entertainment department, so likely had all the TVs set to the game. It's just not something I quite remember.

Same for me!

I barely remember driving to Enon Valley Ohio to watch Franco catch that ricochet heard round the world. We drove back to Moon Twp with white shoe polish, Steeler braggadocio all over my car.
LOL...now I can't even remember what I had for breakfast this morning.

I remember watching bits and pieces of the 84 championship, I was 11 at the time. I remember NBC relaying a quote from Malone at the beginning of the game about how it was the game before the SB, and if that didn't get you pumped, nothing will. And then he throws three picks, thanks Mark.
