About damn time.
Will Faneca go in as a Steeler?
Hope so.

Hines Hines Hines

I thought I heard Ward didn't make it this year.

Original story had Ward as a finalist. Steelers.com corrected their story and one of our mods must have fixed my original post.

He is just a finalist. Technically, they don't go in by team in Canton. Although, the players usually indicate their preference by whom they choose to induct them and in their acceptance speeches.

Tomlinson should get in 1st year....13,684 yds rushing ....4,772 yards receiving.....Super dominant for 7 years....

I'd like to see Kurt Warner get in

Seems to.me the HOF puts a premium on perceived best at position which helps Faneca and hurts Ward. If you asked me which had more of an impact I'd say Ward for sure. There were so many big named receivers in Wards Era it really hurts his chances.

Well deserved. One of the best.

I can't stand Owens, but I hope both WR's get in so Ward can possibly have an easier path.

Issac Bruce was never considered the best at his position. He only went over 90 catches one time in his career.
Ward played on a mostly run 1st offense with Stewart, tomczak, Graham, Maddox during his prime years. He was 28 when Ben got here, and Ben's first few seasons we were still run first.

Ward impacted the game and changed the rules for blocking. The guy was not your protypical receiver. Hines deserves a HOF jacket no doubt. Faneca should go in. He was a dominant lineman in his prime

I used to hate Owens back in the day. Now? He's broke and owes multiple baby mama's. Not sure I'm too bothered by him anymore. He was a damn physical dude in his prime

Ward had 112 catches in 02 before the league went pass happy, that would've led the NFL this season.
I think he was very underrated because he wasn't fast or tall.

That explains my 25 & 26. LoL

Non the less, Congrates to Faneca ..

I think he'll get in, but not this year

Didn't realize I copied and pasted to the wrong replies last night. Lol. Just been a long work week already :p
Faneca will go in. Maybe not now. But I can see next season. And he'll go in as a Steeler

This x100000. When they change the rules to accommodate for the physicality of 1 player I would say that the ticket has been punched.

However, I do not think he get in this round or potentially ever due to the lack of flashy numbers. It will be very interesting to see how it goes because if you WATCHED the game - he is a HOF player. If you go by STATS then he does not get in.

Ward has plenty if HoF numbers... he retired with top ten recieving numbers and is still top 15....
he was known as the most complete wr of his era.

Ward eventually gets in but there is a long backlog on wrs... it often takes a hof wr a decade to get there
