Bradshaw on MT

Well, if that's the best you got. I'll address it anyway. Yep. Sure is. As an African-American male, I DO enjoy it when another African-American succeeds. An example of the "American Dream" if you will. Something wrong with that?

Now, as I've stated before Tomlin has his flaws and I was also one of those who was questioning whether his time was up during that 4 game slide. So far it seems that he's turned it around this year. But, as a Steelers fan, I reserve the right to change my mind on Tomlin and whether his time is up based upon performance. (African-American or not).
Good for you. This is about you calling people who criticize Tomlin racist. I'm sick of people crying racism every time anyone says something negative about a black guy, unless he's a republican - then it's fine to be downright disgusting with the attacks. Football discussion here, and a lot of black guys and white guys will get criticized. Try to keep the race crap on the other board.

No, I never actually called ALL people who criticize Tomlin racist. What I said was that "it" (race) was a consideration for some. Please don't put additional words into my mouth and try to make my statement something it wasn't. I do fairly well with saying what I mean and IF I had meant that I thought that all criticism of Tomlin was race based, I would have said so. I didn't say it because I don't believe it's so.

That said, if I feel that Tomlin's race impacts on the "football discussion", I'll feel free to point it out. Who are you to tell me that my observation of the impact of race on "football discussions" is off limits? If it makes you uncomfortable, don't respond.

Yeah, you're right ... it's not a consideration for some at all ....smh

that race card thing is brought up entirely too much in America. Reality is fans want to win and win significantly when it really matters. Steelers haven't been living up to the standard for a half of a decade.

In his lame duck last year fans wanted Bill Cowher out. Was it because he was white?

I hate that about any conversation where a black person is involved, with that half the time racial indications are brought up.

Irony is there is a lot more blacks who are racial towards whites in America present day.

And on top of it they choose to show that racial tendency with violence.

So is there Steelersnation fans that are white and have a racial agenda? Sure somewhere along the woodpile there is always one.

But I am willing to bet that 99% of the fans on this board simply want a playoff game won. Against a noteworthy team...like say against a team that doesn't have more playoff futility than the Bengals.

I see some chest thumping going on after some wins. Like a few just hold on to Tomlin debates with a seeeeeeeee seeeeeeeeee how good he is?

Don't get me wrong I am all for posters proved wrong by winning.

But like it or not the winning streak means nothing, if you don't do anything with it.

And it is ok for fans to feel the same way without someone throwing up it must be because he is black! Somewhere somewhere out there someone is racist !

Somewhere a lot of fans simply want significant wins.

And one of those fans is right here.

Can't say that I agree with all that you said as far as the social implications of race relations.

But, I wholeheartedly agree that most Steelers fans want to see a successful, winning team. This winning streak IS meaningless unless it continues and there's a playoff spot involved. Hopefully, when the rats leave The 'Burgh tomorrow night, they'll do so via sinking ship!

Whatever, it's Bradshaw's opinion, but I'm tired of that guy. Haven't respected him since he completely dissed Steelers fans at SBXLV. The only guy on the Fox crew to not acknowledge the fans.

not just a spot a playoff WIN, but I agree.

As far as you disagreeing with the black/white thing. I think the media has played a huge hand in convincing people otherwise.

But the statistical facts support what I am saying.

..
I brought it up a few times, but every one and awhile I elaborate.

Hell even in my immediate family half is white half is black.

two siblings black one white.

So that is half in half in 4 children.

Go figure the only racist is the sister that is black.

And she was raised by a white woman, who gave her everything. The rest, that wasn't the case for one reason or another.

My brother is black. And every time we are together there is no white this or white that or black this or black that.

It is simply a disgust with a lot of peoples agendas.

My SGT in the military I still talk to and he is black. And he shoots down all this black lives matter bullshit the media created.

Because he knows the majority white have no ill intention toward people outside of their color.

I will say that if America doesn't simmer these media driven agendas down you might see more racial issues.

More than the disguising ones already on display.

We could win the next two SB's and some will still want Tomlin fired. Tomlin took us to 2 SB's and some of our fans couldn't completely embrace it ...they had/have to say Tomlin won with Bill's players. My friends who our Eagles fans laugh when I tell them this. All they want is one SB victory in their lifetime. All that said. I remember all the fire Cowher threads also before he finally won a SB. I guess as a fan you just always want more.

yeah he has been a tool for awhile. A chip on his shoulder, a ignorant one at that.

I am not buying this, That is what is the biggest complaint for the majority that have issues with Tomlin. That in the second half of his tenure he hasn't produced.

For me it is really obvious the want. For some they simply are looking for the oh he is black! angle.

A ridiculous angle. But I have a feeling why it is thrown out.

I don't think terry is too far off. I am curious to see if Tomlin even sticks around after Ben retires. If he does and builds his own great team I will then say that he is a great coach. Until then I think that he's been riding Ben's coat tails for a decade.

riding the with very little significant success, unless you are handing out participation trophies.

We all know the only trophy that matters.

So it's all ******* about you buckeye. So you go off on anyone who doesn't share your viewpoint about Tomlin. Look, you have your take on it and others have theirs so stop trying to drive your point home. It's not about who is right but a matter of how this fan base sees this coach and nothing more. Move on!

Now, if you look at what I wrote earlier. I didn't say he was great. What I said was that according to the HOF, there are only 23 GREAT coaches in the history of the NFL. If Tomlin continues on the path he is on, he may join them.

I wrote nothing more than "prolific was not the same as great" and you challenged that. Seems like you're wavering. If not, what was your point in challenging what I wrote?

Unfortunately, the HOF, in many cases, is now the Hall of Very Good.

Doesn't make me uncomfortable, it pisses me off. Sick of it.

No it aint...ive seen some of you mutherfuckers body of work in the political forums..some of yunz only admire black tires, black ties and black ink.
By "you mutherfuckers" I assume you mean white people?

Except that the ones I am talking about said the exact thing after he won his SB and went to another.

I will agree with slashsteel. The media is one ofthe biggest culprits in my opinion. A truly sad agenda they have.. all for the ratings and money.

Does Harbaugh own Tomlin? Or have the Steelers players not played up to their ability? Maybe the fact that we've started Mike Vick and Laundry Jones in a couple of those games because Ben was injured and Ben has been injured or coming back from injury in a couple of more play in to it? Naw, couldn't be.
Cowher's players are gone. This is Tomlin's roster and they are growing into something good. If you can't see that, it's because you don't want to.
Don't really care if you "THINK" we miss the playoffs again this year. Only time will tell that. So, your "feelings" in this regard are immaterial until/unless they come true. Come back then. But, if they don't come true, don't come back bitching about it. Btw, what is the acceptable percentage for a coach, let's say an "average" coach, missing the playoffs? Ask folks in Jacksonville, Tennessee, Philly, and a host of other NFL towns.

Yeah, when a hall of fame QB retires the cart usually does fall off the cliff. If you could ask him, I'm sure The Emperor would agree. Hell, so would Shula, Walsh, Landry and a host of others. Yet somehow, Tomlin is supposed to keep the wheels on the cart when these guys couldn't. Seems like you're not asking him to do the same as these "GREAT" coaches, you're asking him to do more. lmao.

What are YOUR credentials to say that Tomlin is of limited coaching ability and intellect? You don't have to show them here, you can DM me your resume. If it is one that says that you are more qualified or even remotely qualified to say that Tomlin has limited intellect and coaching ability, I'll start a thread kissing your butt and saying I was wrong.

*You spelled "would" wrong. Can't be sure, but I don't think Tomlin "would" have posted something denigrating another man's intelligence without at least spell checking.

You are an arrogant prick and of course are too stupid to see the forest for the trees. I owe you nothing, we have ten years of tape on Tomlin and he acts the fool on and off the field as evidenced by his stupidity in game day coaching, his trying to stop a player from scoring a TD, Jacoby jones and the way he stubbornly lies and obfuscates when being called out, calling Tousaant our blocking returner even though he has twice as many returns as the lead returner Coats, etc.

Having a loaded team handed to himn and only having 6 playoff wins with said team and franchise QB his entire career is a direct reflection on hios lack of coaching ability. After tomorrow's ;\loss who will you blame for again losing to an inferior Rats team for the 5tgh straight time, a very untalented Rats team at that ?

Of course teams that lose Franchise QBs will tail off but without Ben we are left with a clueless coach with little intelligence , too much arrogance an inability to draft pass rushers as evidenced by his hard on for the mediocre Jarvis Jones etc who had some of the worst measurables in the draft at one of the most athletic positions on the team. He is what he is, a seriously flawed and limited coach who has been protected by the best organization in football a franchise QB and still he misses the playoffs 33% of the time and counting.

Well then,,, I really hope foster is cut and finney takes his spot, because he is white! So glad you said this buckeye,, now I can hate on Ladarius Green too and root for Jesse James. !!

Terry always was a head case, but he is entitled to his opinion. I don't think Tomlin is great either. At times, he's good. And others he is dreadfully brain dead.
