Dupree looks better than last year, shazier is a beast then their is Burns and Davis. These two rookies are growing into very steady players. 1.5 sacks for Davis today. That is huge. Another interception for Burns. for the 1st time in a very long time, I do not feel that our out secondary is a huge liability. add in Hargrave we have the start of a rebuilt defense!!

The defense is igniting. Part of me thinks they are peaking but the hopeful in me thinks they are actually still growing. Cheers to watching the young ones mature. Davis, Burns, Hargraves, Dupree and Shazier are all making a showing. Tuitt was on point today

Add Tuitt to-it

absolutely on Tuitt

don't get me wrong, I love our offense. I love the goal of 30 points a game. But there is nothing like a Steeler game with a hard hitting smash mouth defense. That is always what excites me about football!!

And while he's not young, Gay is extremely good as the 3rd cb

I think the D was put on notice after the Cowboy game..specifically the LBs. Their jobs were on the line. Benching or limiting Jarvis might have been the move that changed the way this team plays.

Sometimes you add by subtracting.
A chain is only as strong as its weakest link.
Etc.

Anyone notice our D on the late score by buffalo? I think it was first and goal at the 2 yrd line. Our left D tackle,, Tuit or Walton, couldn't tell who it was. Didn't look ready Ball is snapped didn't fire off,, and got handled and McCoy Ran right by him over their right side of the line.

Yeah.....Looks like the picks of Artie Burns & Sean Davis are starting to look better with each passing week......

We are younger, faster, & a little more daring in the secondary......

Anyone see the knock out attempt by Deebo. He made absolutely no effort to wrap whatsoever. Pure shoulder to whatever I can hit. Gold. Dupree was a couple missed plays from his best as a pro. The fact that I never saw Jarvis Jones on the field once today warmed my heart.

Artie Burns looks like he has the potential to be worthy of his draft status. He's not afraid to stand up guys near the line of scrimmage in coverage, and he has shown the ability to support the run with solid tackling skills. He covered Dez for most of the Dallas game, and other than that long TD where Bryant pushed off not once but twice, I thought Burns acquitted himself quite nicely. His confidence has grown since then, and I'm very encouraged. One key cog in the secondary makes a world of difference.

He just needs to keep the penalties down and he should be a contributor.

What a difference from watching Antwan Blake get toasted every week.

I just wish they would tackle better. It is not that they are out of position. They are in great position. Too much going for the knockout hit and not wrapping up. Not sure who teaches that ****, but it is garbage.

Don't forget Chickillo, Big Red, and Williams providing valuable depth.

We could really have quite a defense in the near future, considering this years draft we could go defense heavy again.
On offense, we might only need to draft a back-up running back and another WR.

The secondary still gives up way to many 3 and long plays. When we send more than three, four rushers the secondary looks much better. It is still our weak spot going into two very tough games.

Absolutely....OLB is now the major hole and would be happy with another DT and CB. Take best available for each position in round 1-3.

Nothing pisses me off more than a third down completion to a receiver that's all by himself in the middle of the defense.

I go absolutely nuts when I see that. It happens over and over and over and over again. It must be with intent because they got **** tons of game film to see it. Playing off the guy 10 yards doesn't help either.
