I was wanting to go to the hall of fame induction ceremony (I didn't have permissions to search the forum to see if this post has already been made) this year, and I am in need of some advice. Has anyone here been to the ceremony? I was wondering when/where hotel I should stay (when I should book), what seats to get, etc in order to have the best experience possible.

Any advice would be great, thanks!

Well I hope it happens for you. Some folks I know won a trip last year through our local kids tackle league only to have the game cancelled.

I went when Bettis was inducted. I would say any hotel in the Canton area is good. It's not really much of a city. It's just a suburb of Akron really. The tickets go on sale thru the hall of fame and only the hall of fame
So you have to get tickets quick.

Do you know when they go on sale? I sent a message to them but they haven't replied.

I went when Bettis went in and I'll say get there real early to go through the hall. When a Steeler goes in,fan base takes over , the crowds are huge for everything.

Good luck as I hope you have a very VERY good time / trip. Say hi to all the STEELERS fans that will be there.

Mrs. Ghost and I toured the HOFin the early '90's. Really enjoyed it. I left Post-It notes in several places saying "Swann belongs here." (One was smack-dab on a photo of Swann making that legendary catch at midfield in Super Bowl X against the Cowboys.)

A couple of years later, when I was writing for a newspaper here, I had to call the HOF director for a piece I was writing. He knew I was a Steeler fan, and I mentioned that we had come to the Hall two years earlier.

He said, "It's funny. Some Steeler fan was here and left Post-Its saying Swann should be inducted. We got a kick out of that."

"I'm glad you weren't mad," I replied. "That was me!"

Stories like these are part of what make STEELERS NATION so dang nice. I love hearing these kind of stories and it helps to draw us together. As a fan base I like to think we represent ourselves well, both in numbers and respectability. There are fans and fan bases that could have done much worse, like just use a majic marker, but your innovation is respectable and removable without damage. THANK YOU for your representation and injinuity of said.

thanks so much for the response. wish i could have seen the bus' induction in person. that was one hell of a speech. How is the seating there, could i get the cheap seats and still see? Also i believe they mention the hall itself isnt open during induction week?

As for when the tickets go on sale, i called and a person told me they go on sale right after the inductee announcement the night before the superbowl

It's a very small venue. Pretend like you're at your high school stadium and in the one endzone is where the stage is.. I'd say you prob couldn't have a bad seat.

So you were able to walk through the hall during induction week, could've sworn they said that the hall is closed.

Did you get any package deal, or did you pay for enshrinement and hall tickets separate?

I read the thread title and thought this was about Kordell Stewart.
