He is exactly the other QB that came to my mind when I said that about Cutler too. Put up good stats all year....choke when it matters.

No chance Cutler takes a pay cut to be a backup. It's time for the Steelers to draft Ben's successor.

What we need is a few more threads about suggestions to bring in this pos or that pos has been/never was that doesn't know the system and wouldn't even be as good as the dangerously almost average backup Landry Jones. Even more brilliant is the idea to trade picks for these useless pieces while we eat up cap space that can be rolled into next year to resign Bell and AB.
All for drafting a QB next year to compete with Mettenberger and maybe a vet FA to see if we can get a viable backup plan for the inevitable missed games by Ben but there is no chance to add a productive piece as a backup QB where we are at now. We made our bed with Landry and the other Berger and now we're stuck sleeping with these choices, so drink up if you can't stand how they look cause we ain't adding another.

i rather go after romo bth suck but romo sucks less i feel the writing is on the wall that the boys should ride him, and build round him, due to romo's extensive injury histort and age. + salary, but I feel i cn see jerry ******* it up.

The Steelers need to find Ben's replacement ASAP. Not asking the guy to start off the bat. But Ben really is at the end of his career

Ben's definitely nearing the end. In his mid 30s I'd be surprised if he doesn't miss 4-6 weeks at some point next year. A 1st or 2nd rounder to be the eventual successor would be in order. Get the early pick some reps in the inevitable games Ben misses over the next couple years and hopefully pick us up a couple wins when Ben is out to keep us on course for another SB or 2 in Ben's waning years. If we have a likes of LJ at the helm it would seemingly plunge us right back to where we were in the 80s, no thanks.

I feel most here are in agreement of the feeling of JAY being a no go. I con cure but it was MOSTLY the wife being part of the package deal. For us to look at. NO way in hell would he ever be a long term or short for that matter. We do need to DRAFT a QB in the up coming draft.

On a serious note; if Romo doesn't decide to retire, he could possibly be a starter in another uniform next year. Miami, Cleveland, Buffalo or even Denver would possibly ante up for him. He is a decent 2nd tier quarterback for a team needing a stop gap quarterback.

True beans, even last night version of Cutler would be better than Laundry. Most here don't think so, but Laundry needs replacing............. We need to draft a long term replacement for Ben as Laundry just isn't it.

Cutler is decent but he doesn't have the drive to finish the job. He seems lackluster. No thanks.
