I think this was his best game as a Steeler.

lets hope this is a new start for him......

He did ok. He was in on tackles and made a few stops. I think he shed a block off Gronk to get to the ball carrier

Great first half, disappeared in the 2nd half.

Jarvis has played pretty well this season. He is a capable starter as long as he is the 7th or 8th best player on the field.

He had a solid game. Mostly held the edge in the run game, got some pressure and created a turnover. Time to build on this performance.

he made tackles but he did not hold the edge at all. there were several big runs right at him where he did chase it down 9+ yards. made it look better than it was

Ummm, guys, we can't afford a guy who "isn't too bad" when it comes to ROLB spot in this D. We MUST have pro bowl level players there, or the D is just too weak. This is a 3-4 D. Our OLBs need to be Lloyd, Harrison, Porter, Woodley (the in shape version). We can't afford to have our starting ROLB be a guy who once in a while we say, "well, he actually made a few tackles today and wasn't that bad."

That won't win rings.

We need terrors out there, that might make 3 sacks some games, not 3 sacks a season. We have to pray Dupree comes on like a freak this season. And the leftover parts (Moats, Harrison, JJ) can do enough to help.

Jarvis still has a ways to go. He is (very slowly) improving. I don't think is ceiling is far off though. He is NEVER going to be dominant but a strong average. Settle for this, sign him to longer term deal price appropriately?? Lots of questions to be answered by end of season.

Salute the nation

This was is 42nd career game, and has 5 sacks. We need more than a guy that was ok at ROLB, he gets sucked inside on most outside runs and he still can't get off blocks. He played well when he wasn't blocked

He flashed early in the game. The Cheaters adjusted and easily neutralized him for the next 3 quarters. Jarvis is still a below average LB.

Steelers depot showed film last week where teams are forcing the CBs to be the contain men not the OLBs. Burns has been terrible and Cockrell just a little better. Miami did it last week and NE did it too of course

Great first half, disappeared in the 2nd half.

Jason Worilds was pretty good in his contract year too, then promptly went back to being ****.

The first half definitely seemed to be the best I have seen him play in 3 years. Hope he builds on that for the rest of the year.

Guess we'd have to talk to Butler to know if he was assignment sound. He looked better than Chick, Moats, a hobbled Shazier and there in lays a problem. In this particular game he was more impactful than Silverback as well. When JJ at his current stage of development is the 2nd best backer on the field we have issues. I get he is no Lloyd, Porter or Silverback in his prime, but I also get he will be a whipping boy in several fan's eyes because we over drafted him. If all of our LBs made the same impact in this particular game we probably would've been in position to win though.

I do agree that this was Jarvis' best game as a pro, but that underscores the problem. He played "okay" last night, which by his standards looks awesome. This should be his last season as a Steeler. And Chickollo? That guy has no business being on an NFL roster.

So it took 4 seasons to get uncle Jarvis's best game and that's it? A good first half! No thank you, I will pass. The Steelers need to go back to the lab as Cool Shades would say and try this over again next year. This guy is not a pass rusher, is not disruptive and gets wiped out on most plays. Been watching the Steelers for decades and by far this Steelers defense the last few years is pitiful, just pitiful. They don't tackle well, they don't cover well, they don't rush well, they don't stop the run, and Cool Shades was supposed to be this defensive wiz kid. Well, between him and Colbert this is the defense they have built and put on the field. We're only missing Cam and a really unknown Dupree so this is it. Nice work!

About right, but he did play well. Out of 42 games played, this was one of his five best. I also so how easily he's blocked, and the inability to break free of them. But I will say this, he is a high effort type of player, but no where near a pass rusher.

Yea, the scary thing is this is the best JJ we will ever see: In his physical prime, and playing for a new contract. This is the best we will ever see out of JJ, and his best....it isn't good enough on this 3-4 D. We need an impact ROLB, not just some guy who we say, "He wasn't that bad this game."

We need a Greg Lloyd, J-Peezy (at his prime), Harrison type of players, not what JJ is.

Got tagged, then retired the year after.

Yea, he soaked the Rooneys for another $8 mill before calling it quits. I wouldn't mind a lump of $8 mill before I quit (he probably only kept $4 mill after agent and taxes but that still ain't bad).

Who cares about Worilds anymore. I got tired of the ***** threads when he played here. Now that he has moved on from football let the man go. There is enough on JJ to complain about. Might as well throw ALL our OLBers into a ***** thread...because they have all been playing like crap.
