I'd be absolutely shocked, if he doesn't play after the bye. hell, he even said if it was a playoff game. he would have played. maybe he'll be the backup again. and come off the bench to win the game. so L. Jones can get his 2nd victory. haha

Nonsense, half this board thinks Ben is just an average QB, easily replaced.

Just give Landry 3 TE's and 2 FB's and watch him go!

The Tide of support for Laundry should have been Shouted Down(y) today.. People wanting to Snuggle up to the idea of him being good should now know he doesnt have the Arm to Hammer it home... There is nothing to Gain by continuing with him as the backup.. He is All washed up.. Lets Cheer for Ben to get back asap..

Landry Would make a pretty nice 3rd string qb. As a number 2 he is lacking.

Yet had the zebras not taken away the TD, and Boswell nailed that kick, that last possession would be for a game-winner

After the game on Sunday I think we can beat Bal with Landry. I wish he would shave that stupid mustache though. Looks like a kid in that thing.

He's got a beard and stache, only the stache shows through the helmet.

As Tomlin would say " Landry has a stache, he's day to day. In these two weeks we'll explore our options in terms of division of facial hair between Landry and Mettenberger. Dependent on Charles' global opinion of course....globally speaking...obviously. "

The only way we would have a qb controversy I guess is if we had to play in Gillette stadium..........

I'm willing to bet the Steelers will be hard pressed to beat the Ravens WITH Ben.

That will be for the division lead most likely and the Ravens will want it bad. We'll still likely have 4 guys out on IR and who can tell how many of the ones playing will take the game seriously?

****, I'm negative. I need to get laid.

The Ravens will play their toughest game of the season against the Steelers. Harbaugh will build this game up all week and his team will be ready just like they were last year when they swept us. Having an extra week to prepare and get healthy is big, but I don't know if Ben should rush back for this game. We need him healthy.

The same Ravens team that still managed to lose yesterday even after the Jets gift wrapped them a special teams TD?.

They are not exactly setting the world on fire either.

I hope you are right but I have a suspicion that he will be out at least 4 weeks.

How many times have we seen the Ravens play the Steelers hard and win even when they have been in down years. Its a rivalry game and they will be up for it.

Half the board? Not even close. There are a few posters who think that, but they are in the vast minority.

The fact that we lost to them twice last year is all the proof you need. Once, they beat us with a QB who they just hired off his couch like a week before our game.

I thought Mark "Magnum" Malone made a comeback.

The Cinci playoff game last year told me all I needed to know about Laundry. The fact that Ben had to return to the game and he could barely throw the ball 25 yards tells me Laundry gives us next to no chance to win. And it isn't due to lack of preparation. Should have moved on to anybody after that.

No, what some on the board see is a QB who complains that the team practices too hard. Then they go out and perform like they never practice.

They see a QB who brags about being instrumental in making up the game plan, and, when the game plan goes to ****, can't think beyond that.

They see a QB who, even at 34, still has to play the look how tough I am game, when the owner says he will be out for 2-3, he has to say 4-6 so he looks all tough when he comes back against the Ravens.

They have been watching Tom Brady for years never seem to have an off week against inferior teams, when they watch their guy have about 4-5 of those per season, games in which he plays like less than an average QB.

We damn well know that Ben is a damn good QB. But ******' A. Same **** every year.

Actually, I don't even like him that much as a #3. With your back ups QBs, you are looking for two things: A QB who gives you the best chance of winning if your #1 goes down, and/or a player who might develop into something good down the road. The reason you take a vet is because of point 1. The reason you want a younger, unproven player is for #2. Jones provides neither 1 or 2.

Is one related to the other? Maybe they played like crap because they are beat up and missing too many starters. No?

I never heard him brag about game plans. And we don't know who is making what calls, because we are not allowed to no; that is the Steeler way.

Yes, he has a track record of liking drama and trap doors, that is true. Not the worst of all possible traits, all things considered.

Is that a Ben thing or a Tomlin thing?
We damn well know that Ben is a damn good QB. But ******' A. Same **** every year.

Could also be a Tomlin thing, same **** every year. What does Ben have to do with the over all team not being prepared or focused? That is more on the head coach.

see how easy it is to quote multiple posts and keep the name of the original poster so that others know who the **** you are responding to so they can judge both your comment and theirs....

Average? Far from it. Ben is the centerpiece to this offense. The coaches can help Landry by simplifying the playbook. Landry didn't lose the game, but didn't put the team in position to win either

Part of the problem is that Ben is the centerpiece. Their best player, LeVeon Bell, should be the centerpiece.

I find it inexcusable that Bell only got 10 carries against Miami. I find it unbelievable that they will throw screen passes to WRs and even their TEs, but not to Bell.

Ultimately, the main thing I just don't understand is that a major complaint you hear from coaches is that they can't tackle in practice. So how do the Steelers respond to that? They pass the ball all around. Why not go back to a power running game and force teams, since they can't really practice a lot of tackling, to tackle? They may have the best RB in the NFL.

As douche bag Brady never have off weeks, look at the final game vs the dolphins last year with home field on the line, a 66 qb rating and 134 yards.

2014 week one vs Miami a 69 rating.
Same year vs KC a 59 rating
A game vs the jets with a 76 rating.

2013 vs the jets a 71 rating
Loss to Cincy with a 51 rating

Don't feel like looking anymore, but even the great Tom Brady has bad days.

Once again......

Fans have been asking where the info came from that ESPN/Chris Mortensen reported suggesting that Ben "could miss four to six weeks"...

Mr. Rooney was asked earlier today at the Fall League Meeting:

"I think that two to three is what you can characterize as best-case, but that's what we're hoping for," Rooney said. "Two to six is probably a fair range that somebody can put on it."

Mr. Rooney is one of THE most respected owners in the league and not prone to "drama". So for all of those calling Ben a "Drama Queen".... 😉 -- Erin.
