This is the way you wanted the game to unfold:

Take away their Te's, press coverage let them have whatever small chunks they get in the run game and short passing

On O heavy dose of Bell but let Landry take his shots where possible

They game planned well and hung in there, the problem was Landry couldn't seal the deal.

I had this game at 25-24 Steelers. Take away the holding penalty on the Steelers TD that's called back and it's close to that.

If Ben had played we steamroll these guys.

Don't get me started on Tomlin......at least the game plan was good, in game management.......don't get me started I like Mikey.

I hate to point at officiating, BUT it did not help the underdogs today. Haley and Butler diid all they could with the players they had on the field. The last time two OI calls were made on one team in a game was how long ago.

The refs not calling a hold on Harrison on the first TD pass of the game was egregious. Solder had Harrison in a literal bear hug, arms wrapped completely around him from both sides. Unforgivable no call.

That hold was the same exact ******* one they called Hubbard on when we had the td taken off the board. They were mirror images of each other. Either you call it all the time, or not at all. The non-call and Cobi Hamilton was bad too. That piece
Of **** Butler (their CB) held his arm all the way. I hate to blame officiating, but it was atrocious.

I think we played as good as could be expected given the number of starters who were out.

The hold on Pouncey, I thought Tunch was going to go off on air. He couldn't believe the call. "Holding is starting to be like PI. No official really knows what is/isn't". Pouncey pancaked him on his back. How is that a hold?

Nice to see Haley's daughter get recognition for her football prowess. Go USC!

They did a great job considering the amount of missing players. I mean at one point, they were playing with DHB and Hamilton as 1-2 receivers. Bell is an incredible weapon, and played without rest.

You just don't have any idea what you're talking about at all, do you?

Gronk had 93 yards, was it? Is that uh, taking away the tight end then? Cause James had 18. I think the ******* cheaters took away the tight end.

The Steelers are 4-3, next week they'll be 4-3 while the rest of the division will creep closer, the Ravens may even catch up and overtake the following week.

IF Pittsburgh gets a chance to play the cheaters again, it will be in Foxborough without headsets, and with the full cadre of P*ts cheating engaged. It will likely be a ******* blood bath.

I hope those ******* strippers in Miami were really amazing.

It was much closer than i expected, but to say we would have win with Ben is impossible. Just look at last week. The offense was horrible even with ben in there. Boswell didn't help and the int in the endzone was bad. Got the bye week to regroup.

I know EXACTLY what I'm talking about. Here is what I said in the prediction thread:

Steelers 25
Pats 24

Pats stack the box to stop 26 and play right into Haley's plan which is to go with the only strength Landry has; the short passing game.

Steelers control TOP

On D Butler remembers what Lebeau did to beat the Pats a few years ago and jams their wr's and TE's just enough to disrupt Brady.

That's pretty much what the Pats did and what we did. Gronk got 36 yards on ONE missed assignment, until that point they(our D) were doing a hell of a job pressing and disrupting their TE's. Even Tomlin said part of the plan was letting us suffer "some bleeding" in the run game and pressing their receivers. We played them the only way you can play them and have a prayer of beating them; and we almost did.

We win this if not for a few dropped passes, a holding penalty on a TD catch and a missed early FG.

I bet you had the Pats hanging 40+ on us.

And the headset conspiracy crap is old as well, we all know the NFL handles all the electronics. Tomlin whining about it last time made him look pathetic.

I know you're pissed because a game that you had no expectation of us winning slipped away................

Get over it, we always play better with our back against the wall. What we saw today was a team that appears to have stopped believing its own hype.

I feel the same

James was open a few times that Laundry just didn't see.

james was open often last week too. Why the QB's are overlooking this? Idk. Those are 7-10 yard gains there

Landry at the end was pathetic. He is a below average backup, and that's his ceiling. In the fourth quarter, he showed zero leadership, ability to hurry up, and played scared. He has no consistency whatsoever in throwing the ball further than 8 yards downfield. If Ben can't go in two weeks, it would be wise to see what we have in Mettenberger.

As one of the reporters tweeted yesterday, not one guy that reports on the Steelers and watches practices even suggested that Mettenberger should get any snaps. That is a bit of a concern and I am in the crew that wouldn't mind seeing him ahead of Jones.

Pittsburgh Dad said that Landry looked more panicked than Beaker on the Muppet Show.

I think yesterday's performance from Landry is as good as he will ever be....hit on few plays, but overall cant consistently throw down the field and he doesn't scare anybody. I was scared ****-less every time he dropped back and he had all day to throw.

This game defensively was the same as last year and the year before that... Gronk running around the secondary with no one even knowing where he's at. Butler is on thin ice we have fired other cordinators for less. Between horrible drafting and crappy coaching the defense is a shell of itself.

That's the thing, Tombert has done such a horrible job of drafting defensive players for the last decade that it's hard to determine how much to blame the coaches since they haven't been given jack **** to work with. I thought it was time for LeBeau to go but at the same time he deserved an apology from the team for the lack of material to work with.
After ten years, who are the decent defensive players drafted by Tombert?
1. Gay
2. Timmons
3. Heyward
4. Tuitt
That's all I got.
Your second-best LB is 38 years old and was an undrafted free agent signed by Bill Cowher.

I'd add Shazier and Williams. I'm hopeful with Hargrave, Dupree, Davis, and Burns, but I have to see more.

Woodley, Keenan Lewis, Spence.....Besides Wood, I know the others didn't make it to their next contract.

Except all those guys either weren't good for long (Woodley, Lewis) or out hurt a lot or too soon to tell.
