Mike Pereira explains why Tyler Boyd's fumble was upheld

One idiot announcer - Eye-an Eagle - made a statement about the official "ruling that the defender pushed the receiver out of bounds."

Jesus ... do these clowns even know the rules? As in, the "force out" rule was changed in 2008.

I noticed that too and then 15 minutes later they went back to the replay and started discussing the one knee = 2 feet rule. Clueless.

What are you talking about no evidence? Calls are often wrong and replays aren't always 100% conclusive but they are almost always a much better look at the play because of slow motion and multiple angles.

If the replay suggests that the on the field call was wrong, why go against that just because it isn't 100% conclusive?

And it's not really indisputable - the current guesswork is at what point is the replay conclusive. I'm sure if Boyd had been a Steeler player, there'd be a lot of people saying the replay yesterday was conclusive. I sure thought it was.

Bullshit, I don't care if that ************ was wearing pink and purple, I could not see that ******* ball till it was already out, from the time his knee actually hits, the ball is NOT visible. If you can't see the ******* ball, you can't say if it's moving or not moving. There have been bad calls, I will admit a bad call, I don't give a **** if it goes for or against us, it is impossible to tell IF that was a bad call or not, since, and I'll say it again, you can't see the ************* ball when his knee is down.

If replay is going to make the game better, it needs to do so with the officials using it as evidence of a change in the initial call. There is NO evidence the ball was not moving, because, say it with me fucknut, you can NOT SEE THE BALL.

Jeezuz, I wonder how some of you function in daily life.

This.

If they would of overturned that it would have been much more egregious than the call on the field.

This one takes the cake. No personal responsibility:

"Another Steeler victory thanks to the refs. As if it wasn’t enough to orchestrate an on field playoff brawl to get the best defensive player suspended. Steelers then manipulated the schedule to make sure they played Cincy while the suspension was in effect and now the refs give them a fumble to top it all off! Unbelievable."

SMH

That is great. It really is. Now, they're boo-hooing about ******* missed holding calls. ******* holding calls. Someone brought up the fact that the bungholes didn't get one PI penalty, and yet tackled brown Atleast two times, and they responded with "the defender and receiver jockeying hands happens." Meanwhile, no mention of the bear hugs that Harrison and Heyward received a couple times. Also, on the third down pass play that DHB dropped, crackhead jones went helmet to helmet on him and smoked his head. I didn't see the one on Ben, but everyone here has mentioned that one as well. How they view the officiating in the Steelers favor baffles me. The fuckong officiating gave the bungholes life to put them back in that game. Delusional ******* inbred hicks in cincitucky.

Antonio Brown was almost raped by Dansby in the endzone, hell at least buy him a couple of beers first

Read what you wrote. It sounds like you are arguing that it was NOT a fumble. Can't see the ball... knee down.

I guess the theory that the ball was suspended in mid-air makes sense to you.

You couldn't see the ball because he had possession of it. When a player fumbles, gravity takes over immediately.

not sure what you are debating it wasn't a clear view / regardless of what player.... it has to be conclusive...simple

No, he's saying that there was not sufficient evidence to overturn, thus the "Play stands as called" ruling was correct based on the letter of the replay rules. It's not the job of the officials to make judgement calls, but rather to cover their ***** and ensure nobody in the home office is going to look at that tape all week and say. Um, you can see the ball here, Jim. Is this definitive proof or not?

Since he couldn't see the ball and HAD no definitive proof, he had no choice but go with the ruling on the field which puts the impetus on the guy who has to make the call at full speed and thus gives him more room for a mistake since things are moving so fast. It's the best way to go.

This is all ridiculous. If the bungles have any complaint, they should be bitching about the fact that Boyd lost the football in the first place. ***** about the call all you want, but if boyd hangs onto the football, we're not having this discussion.

If you can't see my dick, because it's in your mom, can you be sure it's not moving? I mean, maybe she's grinding on it, and not going up and down, or maybe I'm just flexing that ************ for her, she likes that.

Not seeing something doesn't mean it's not moving, fucknut.

Nice.

My mom died when I was a kid. I grew up without her. Apparently, you've never grown up.

Grandma? Sister? Cousin? Nun maybe? Insert female figure that typically goes in "your mom" jokes here. I'm sure this isn't the first "your mom" joke you've had hit wrong, I'll do my best to remember going forward, but it shouldn't be a problem, I have loads of insults to choose from. This board is quite kind and gentile as compared to the old days, so I'll be nice. :)

At any rate, you did get the gist of my post I hope, right? Can't see it does NOT translate to it wasn't moving.

How's he supposed to know that? Its a joke.

Let's discuss you and your mom. She'd either be ashamed of the son she raised for being a juvenile internet tough guy, or she'd be proud.

If it's the former, you obviously don't care what your mom would think of you. If it's the later, who are you to be insulting anyone's mother?

Listen, I tried to be nice, or at least kinda nice, and you're still playing the violin. It was a joke, as in a your mom joke, I meant nothing more than to illustrate a point, which I think I did quite effectively. If it hurt your feelings past the point to which you can't recover, then kindly click the little ignore button, and be done with me. My personality hasn't changed on this board since we were debating Kordell Stewart as the starting qb, and I'm sure as **** not changing it for you, so if you don't like it, kindly **** off.

Jesus Christ this thread was comedy gold.

I wish someone would have asked about the play where Brown gets pushed to ground in end zone, passed the five yards and clearly the official was not looking at the play,?

Think for the most part the refs went old school and let the players play. That wasn't the only play where Brown was held or pushed. I'm sure the Steelers sent the plays in question to the league for review after the fact.
