Harrison has to interview with Fürher or face a 4 game suspension.

Deebo should go to NYC, drink a lot of fluids, meet with Goodell, then whip it out and piss violently into a mason jar, backsplash be damned, until it is full to the brim.

Then leave it sitting on his desk, say "just in case you spontaneously combust" and walk away.

:afro:

I hope none of these players comply. Players have to answer to rumors from the media now? There is no way in hell the union should allow this. This was not law enforcement that investigated, it was a media report. Tell the NFL to do their own investigation, find some evidence and then get back to you.

While on the subject of Goodell's abuse of power. Ray Rice is out of his mind if he does not sue Goodell personally for collusion in ending his career by effectively blackballing Rice just to save his own ***.

Everybody was fine with Rice serving a 3 or 4 game suspension, apologizing and going back to work. Goodell screwed up by only giving 2 games and not watching the video then lying about it. The outrage was over the botched process. If he gives Rice 4 games, nobody would have batted an eye.

If he had the balls to stand up to the media and explain why he only gave 2 games, Rice would have been OK. He could have stated how Rice's wife testified on his behalf and since it was Rice's first ever incident of any kind, he decided to give him a 1st time penalty. The media would have been mad for a few days and then it would have been over.

But Goodell is not a man. He's a weak willed, public approval *****. Instead of taking the heat himself, he goes back door to end Rice's career to try to save his own reputation. I wouldn't let Goodell run a local Little League. He'd be the guy raising the sign up fee, sending the kids out there with cracked helmets then going fishing on his new boat called the "The Skimmer".

Harrison doesn't have to sit out any games. While the NFLPA fights it, no players have to sit out anything. Look at Bountygate, where no player suspensions were served, and some were supposed to sit out for the whole season. Only the coach got screwed on that one.

Would anyone be surprised if Goodell penalized the Steelers organization for not telling Harrison to go and interview with the commish? By them saying they won't force Harrison to go and stand behind his decision to do so, is their "conduct detrimental" to the NFL?

Harrison is not as big a name as Clay Mathews is, just much more outspoken.

I have several thoughts re this:

1. While I do not like him as commissioner, Goodell is the boss. Is it really that big of a deal to go meet the boss when asked? I doubt most of us would go to twitter to demand the boss come to our house if he or she wants to meet. That said, I do not know the terms of the collective bargaining agreement. If it is clear that Goodell does not have this right, then he should let this go. [EDIT UPDATE: This is an excellent article countering my first point and arguing why it is a big deal and the players should resist: http://mmqb.si.com/mmqb/2016/08/18/nfl-union-al-jazeera-ped-roger-goodell-notebook.

2. On the other hand, Harrison does seem targeted and the unnecessary badgering is not right and is not good for the image of the NFL.

3. In my view, the players association brought much of this on themselves. They were so worried about dollars and limiting practice in the negotiations of the new agreement that they ignored key issues like discipline.

4. Goodell is causing the exact problem that he supposedly sought to address – tarnishing the shield. These silly public fights over ever-increasingly stupid thing have made following football annoying and are furthering an image of a bunch of self-entitled ******** – both management and players - behaving badly.

5. Related to the prior point, Goodell and the NFL’s insistence of policing activities that have no impact on the game, such DUIs, other arrests, and non-performance enhancing drugs, further harms the NFL’s image. When every other week there is a new player suspended for things not related to football, it creates or at least provides additional coverage of an event unrelated to football that is viewed negatively. The easy example of this is the pot suspensions. It is not performance enhancing. So, why should the NFL care is a player is. That is up to the government and police. By suspending multiple players a year, it creates the image of a bunch of potheads in the NFL by over publicizing it, which is viewed by many as a negative. Think about it this way, Bell’s pot arrest have been only a two or three day story if it simply ended there – 2 days at the time of the arrest and a small story at the time he entered into the plea deal with the prosecutor. Instead, it was numerous stories spanning over a year.

6. Further to both points, I am tired of being excited about a team only to have several key players miss several games for issues unrelated to football. Honestly, it significantly diminishes my excitement for the season because even a very good team on paper may never quite get it together. It’s one thing when this is the result of injuries or a suspension related to cheating (such as using performance enhancing drugs) because those are necessary realities, but, when related to non-football matters, it is just aggravating.

No, it's getting ******* worse.

Apparently Goodell has a LOT more intel on Harrison. I've been using my various sources to delve into Goodell's dirt on Harrison and apparently there's a reason in fact lots of them that he's got such a hard on for Harrison.

I'll give you two of them right now, but I'll be leaking the others out over the next few days. It's ugly though, really really ugly. I just want to warn you now.

jfk_dealey_plaza_dallas_photo_01.jpg

First. Apparently Goodell wants to know very specifically where James Harrison was on November 22, 1963. And I mean VERY SPECIFICALLY. It seems James may have been mixed up with some very bad people and involved with conduct that was extraordinarily detrimental to the NFL. We're talking serious ******* shield-tarnishing here. I can't go into details, but let's hope he wasn't anywhere NEAR Texas.

Hindenburg_disaster,_1937.jpg

Secondly, It is with a very heavy heart that I report that Goodell has some really solid intel that a man fitting James physical description very closely was involved in the 1937 Hindenburg disaster. I know. I don't want to believe it either, but I think it's important that we realize that in this day and age, we have to accept that people are guilty until proven guilty. Unless James can clearly demonstrate without any shred of doubt that he wasn't responsible for the 1937 catastrophe, I think the commissioner's accusations have legs here.

Harrison has been Goodell's primary target for years. Not only did Harrison change the rules the day he KO'd two Clevland players with shots to the helmet, he's openly speaking out against Goodell. Which other active player has done that?

A high school acquaintance of mine works for the NFL in the marketing and media department. I won't say his name in public, but I will say according to him if you look at Goodell the wrong way, you're asking for trouble.

If James doesn't meet with Roger, it's not going to end well for the Steelers.

tramps_Harrison.jpg

It's looking pretty iron-clad at this point. I don't see how James avoids at least a 2 game suspension.

Man, it's starting to look like James is a serial criminal. D.B. Harrison?

Goodell's people released a sketch that has lead the commish to believe Harrison may have been the culprit in the famous 1971 hijacking...

**** Roger and his bullshit. They have no evidence, and they have no grounds to ask for a sit down. Period. I'm going on record right now, if Roger is stupid enough to try and push this, and Harrison misses his last chance at a ring because of it, Roger comes out of this looking like dogshit, not Harrison.

**** Roger Goodell.

Has no grounds? According to what law?

What I don't understand is where Art Rooney II is on all this. Goodell is HIS representative, thus when Goodell asks to meet with Harrison, isn't that the same as Rooney asking to meet with him (why/why not?).

And if Rooney says meet with Goodell, don't you think that's within the right of an employer/employee request?

Obviously since possible suspension/fine could result in this "interview", Harrison has the right (according to the CBA) to have union representation AND legal representation. They should protect him from self-incrimination or direct him not to answer certain questions. And if Goodell thinks this is obstructionism, then suspend him FOR THAT and let the Union fight that battle in court.

But you can't NOT meet. You can not say anything. You can refuse to answer questions. You can tell the investigators to go to hell. But as long as the investigators are acting as a representative of the owner (and your employer), I don't see how you can just refuse to meet.

Harrison has agreed to the interview. It will be in the burgh

I see all sorts of post playing days potential here

1. Get a ghost writer and write a tell all book.
2. Write a rap song and call it: **** the NFL. Maybe he can get Cube to help him write it.

(I can do this **** all season...) I'm passive aggressive and stuff...

This post makes me proud. Even if we all can't agree that out of the two pieces of **** running for office that somehow one is better than the other we can ALL agree that Roger Goodell is the piece of **** that truly brings people together.......to hate him.

He might as well, I guess. He made his point with his posturing and grandstanding about it. But in the end we all know you can't fight city hall.

Nothing will come of an 'interview' anyway because unless the NFL has some evidence that hasn't been leaked (unlikely in this day and age) then they have no evidence.

He can do his interview and then begin posturing again about how they wasted his valuable time and he should send them a bill.

As much as I'd emotionally loved to see him defy the NFL management it's probably smarter and better for the team just to get it over with.

FULLY agree on getting nit over with. DEBO can be DEBO, but NOT at the expense of the team.

Salute the nation

I don't understand this PED "meeting"

Clay Mathews and Peppers are meeting with NFL over the PED "report."

What am I missing here? I thought the writer of that article has rescinded it and admits there was no truth to it.

So why does anyone have to meet the NFL about it? I don't get it.

So these MLB players were checked out, and there was nothing to the accusation of PEDs.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/08/19/mlb-clears-players-accused-in-al-jazeera-ped-report/

If the report has already been proven BS why does anyone have to meet? I just am missing something here.

Goodell can do whatever the **** he want because the idiot players couldn't think their way through the CBA once they got to the $$ signs.

I agree. The players get taken to the cleaners if there is such a thing for millionaires. They should focus on benefits, medical insurance posts their career, and a higher pension after retirement.

Quick fact 70% of the players have very little or no net worth 5 years after retirement. Amazing. And too many of them have high medical bills.

Harrison is an old school gun shooter, who speaks his mind and means what he says. He mocked Roger on Twitter saying something to the effect that " It's not fun when the rabbit's got a gun " Harrison also said, Okay Roger, let's put the meeting on TV. WOW. He's asking for it.

I expect Roger to hammer whoever does not meet with him to increase his bully like presence, knowing full well the union is weak and the owners privately back him on votes 31 times ut of 32 on almost all votes.

I hope Harrison does not walk into this meeting alone. If he's smart, he will have a lawyer and a member of the NFLPA with him.

He's already written an affidavit stating his non involvement (which is a great move on his part). This can be set up to protect yourself from someone falsely accusing you of a crime. The way that this story has been carried by the media, already damages the reputations of these players with the association that they are cheaters. The NFL may face lawsuits because of it, and it looks like Harrison has his ducks lined up to take the league to court after the "findings" are released from these meetings.

I only hope that if he does take them to court, he will be suing the NFL and also Roger Godell specifically. Knocking him down a peg is a great move, and this is the way to do it.

I was kind of hoping that Harrison would tell him to eff off and take the suspension, at least for a week or two. This would enable us to keep him fresh for the end of the season. It would also allow us to protect an extra guy(i believe anyways) for a few extra weeks before we snuck him through to the practice squad.

I am a Josh Norman fan specifically now. He has stepped up to call out Roger Goodell instead of leaving JH standing alone.

RG has been gunning for Harrison for years and it edges on harrassment. JH asked for a PUBLIC meeting. His point was if he can be interrogated on claims made by the media, let the media tape the interrogation. Full transparency.

Like Josh Norman said. A dog Horrible...He's horrible.

**** Roger Goodell
