Say it isn't true Big Ben - fact or fiction ? you decide

My expectation of Ben beyond skill on the field is that he is a good ambassador of the team during interviews and acts well at team events. Signs things etc. His own time is his own time. If he is an *** hole then so be it.

As long as Big Ben isn't into "criminal" activity I can careless about his dismissive demeanor or interactions with strangers and people he doesn't know.

Just to add to the OP.. The Bus was a stand up guy as well. I know multiple ppl who were around him from the clubs to the barber shop. Parents definitely raised a gentleman.

true I forgot how he talked about the Bus as well... nothing but good reports...

Also for those repetitive I give two **** responses, again it isn't about having to care.

But if later yinz have misgivings who was great on and off the field. We can leave Ben's label on the field.

And for those oh if I was rich I would be a A-hole, chances are yinz one now.:excitement:

As there is a decent amount of great reports, on class acts on and off the field for me to know it doesn't HAVE to be that way.

Just as I can love Big Ben on the field, and know what to expect off the field.

This thread is useless. Doesn't have anything to do with football and is hearsay at best.

Everything related to the Steelers is news.

Good thing is you can click out of the thread and go to another thread that isn't useless.

Or should I attempt to give a **** about a few of yinz useless replies.

After all it isn't football related.

if Coolie was a mod worth his weight in swallowed jizz, he'd delete this ignorant assed thread.

Well you better have given him a good tip for all the bullshit he came up with since you obviously ate it all up.

If Ben isn't a perfect example of a jock meathead and likely bully in high school, I don't know who is. The guy was probably bigger, stronger, faster, more athletic than anyone from the time he was 5. He was doted on, praised, center-of-attention.

Combine that with average intelligence, parents that probably lived vicariously through his success and you get an A-1 *******.

Is what it is. Our society produces people like this all the time. Many that don't sniff professional sports. Ben made it and is a superstar.

This game doesn't care about moral character. It cares about production. All sports do. So you are bound to get a spectrum of people that have been raised right and those raised wrong. Those with moral fiber and those without. Those with criminal tendencies and those without. Those that care about others and those that care about themselves.

In retrospect, that's part of the fascination with sports. It's a window into our society. All the good and bad.

I believe Ben was truly acting pig like before he got suspended. That's the word on the street. But I don't feel he is a total, grade A *******. If he was, would guys like Heath Miller be such good buddies with him? I don't think so.

Any how, it appears he is not so much a jerk that it destroys team chemistry. You could tell last year's team had chemistry and unity. That's all I care about - not that he wasn't all chummy with a cabbie. Not one **** do I give about that.

And his drink of choice was cranberry juice, sans vodka. Not going to get in trouble on that stuff.

Yea, I think that was one part wanting to rip his old team for not ponying up to pay big money, one part wanting to kiss his new QB's *** and one part comparing him to the single hardest working QB in the entire league. Ben is not a guy with poor work ethic, at least not now. He takes extra time after practice to work with his receivers. He is bordering on being the best QB in the entire NFL. You don't get there by not putting the work in.

True, although early he didn't have the fitness coaches and was getting a little chunky here and there.

I think it is no coincidence he is playing better and looking better..........

Ben met his wife, who is a physical therapist, while rehabbing from an injury. Sparks flew, and low and behold, Ben marries a stable woman, instead of an unstable bar hopper.

The best choice he could have made.
I think Ben's wife is a P.A. not a Physical Therapist. But I could be wrong.

When we were at the Steelers KC game last year there were less than a dozen or so kids reaching for high fives down as they came out for warm up. I was disgusted that only a couple guys like Shazier and Moates took the millisecond to reach up their hand to my kids. But it is what it is.

Of course we want him to win football games.

As far as who cares? just a report I heard

some will find it interesting some won't....

obviously it won't change our watching of him or the game....

but if someone thinks he has changed his ways, perhaps that viewpoint might change

or maybe not

I didn't mean that as a shot at you for posting it. I just mean that I don't care what they do or how they act, just win. But by the same token, I don't give a **** about their sob stories when they get in trouble. Again, this stems from being told over and over not to worry about their personal lives, just worry about what they do on the field. I agree with that, but it does go both ways.

My perspective is different though because I was blessed growing up. While there wasn't much money floating around, I didn't have to look further than the dinner table for people to look up to.

Here is what I am saying. If a cab driver wanted to start a conversation with me coming out of a casino, I'd say his perception of me would vary based on what happened for me inside the casino.
