Eric Rowe on the market?

Some stuff from an eagles blog about Rowe:

http://www.bleedinggreennation.com/...mills-cornerback-trade-rumors-leodis-mckelvin

It sounds like Rowe is struggling to pick up the new defense. He allegedly scored an 11 on the wonderlic the first time that he took it (from a scout - "He will have a very hard time playing safety if that test score (11) is true to his reading ability and decision-making ability."). I think Rowe is Sean Davis without the brain. Whoever uses him will need to keep whatever he's doing simple. And as he's not a good man-to-man corner that limits what you could do with him. Pass.

What did Burns score? An 11 is very low.

Eric Rowe has a pretty bad change of direction. Putting him in the slot would be a disaster. He's ok on the edges but if you go watch him play he gets ate up in the open field. Just doesn't have the hips for it. As a depth guy as maybe a 4th or 5th corner it's not too bad but you don't want a guy who is limited like that as your projected starter in the slot.

Lol what does Burns have to do with Rowe??

Well Antdrewjosh,

I'm based in 'Canes country, and they don't recruit the brightest at times. Burns had it tough growing up and has had a short fuse on the field.

Some of it could be maturity, but I'd feel better if he scored in the high teens to lower 20's. Those with low scores often have issues off the field and " getting it " in the NFL.

I'm not saying Burns scored low or high, I'd just like to know. What does it have to do with Rowe? NOTHING, unless Burns pulled an 11-14.

Exactly my point. Burns has nothing to do with Rowe. So what need did you feel to bring him into this thread.. oh you like Rowe and some one pointed out his low score so now you feel the need to ask about Burns cause you are on record for not liking him. SMH

And what the hell does Burns having it tough growing up have to do with wonderlic scores.. you know what never mind. I have a feeling I will feel dumber reading your explanation for why you would combine the two..

So Rowe scored a 11 are we done with this trade now.

If Bruns scored an 11-14, would your opinion change? IMO, the Steelers have selected too many low score / bad character types lately.

I don't dislike Burns. The team needs at least one more solid corner, and Burns could be him.

The only person questioning his wonderlic score is you. There has been nothing to suggest that his intelligence needs to be questioned except for by you to justify Rowes score. And who have they selected with a low score bad character type??? Why do you make up ****?

You must have forgotten about Mike Adams, Chirs Rainey and Alameda Ta'amu. Three bad character types in one draft. Bryant was a bad character type, which is why he was there in round 4.

No--I don't make stuff up. I'm just informed and add 2 nd 2.

Didn't I warn you about Bell passing a drug test?

I do not know how smart Burns is, but I have some doubt, which is why I asked. He could be brilliant. I was just asking...

Example: Raw and a low Wonderlic score when I add 2 and 2 = a player who needs a lot of time, and may never get it.

Raw and a high score = a player that will need time but will likely " get it"

I have noticed in the past that the players who score low are more prone to off the field issues.

So you know wonderlic scores for those players?? Post them. You know Bell's post it. Stop talking out your *** Coach.

So since we supposedly knows Rowe's score your not interested anymore right?

After reading that. Agreed. Dumb players need to go to Cincy...

Coach loved him

A 10? Very low. Dupree scored a 13. To clarify I would have traded down and taken the the third round pick. Burns might be on the board. We will never know. If he was gone then Howard

How do you guys like our secondary? Would you trade LJ Fort for Rowe? Philly is looking for a ILB.

I don't know, I really like what Fort brings to the table. I think I'd rather trade Chickollo.

AJ Green scored a lofty 10
Mike Mamula got a 49

which would you rather have?

We have no OLB depth and tons of ILB depth. Philly wants an ILB.

Well we are 4 deep at the position. Maybe we could trade Chick for Rowe.
isn't Chick OLB and they want ILB?

I'd rather keep our ILB depth if our DB's are going to suck anyway. Did Rowe do anything last night that made him look worth it?

Broke up a pass along the sidelines... probably the most athletic play I ever saw by a DB

Oh, ok. In any case, I don't really love our depth, but Grant looks pretty damn solid. Would still take Rowe though and move Gay to the slot.

Curious what you saw in the Eagle game that makes you think Rowe could start for us at CB?
