Ditched the PSU back, re-signed Powell

I'm a Penn State fan and i had no idea who this guy was. He tested as an elite athlete so he was worth a look but probably has too much to learn. He may be back in the NFL in a few years if he plays in Canada and learns a position.

Cameron Wake was in the same situation. He was just a role player at PSU because he was undersized at the time. He tested off the charts so he got a shot in a few camps, Steelers may have been one of them. A few years in Canada and the weight room and he came back as a beast.

They cut him cause he waa injured

Well, he also had a total of 4 carries in his entire college career. If you can't even make it on the field on college, it's highly doubtful you are going to all of a sudden be talented enough to make it in the NFL.

There are a minor amount of cases that indicate otherwise, Tom Brady being one of them.

But at RB? If you're gonna cut it in the NFL, you surely would be productive at the college level.

Willie Parker disagrees with this post.

Willie Parker was also just a little...whats it called....FAST.

Jimmy Graham had 17 receptions in college. Julius Thomas barely played in college. Antonio Gates didn't play at all.

Another example is current Pats WR Chris Hogan. He played lacrosse (i think) at Penn State. He then went to Montclaire State for a year where he played some football, then he became a personal trainer. A few years later, he shows up at an open combine and runs a 4.3 so he gets a shot in an NFL camp with the Dolphins and ends up featured on Hard Knocks.

He doesn't make it because he had too much to learn, but he came back with the Bills and made their team where he because a solid player and this year just signed with New England.

I don't think anybody expected the PSU RB to make the team this year. He will never be Franco Harris but when somebody is that good of an athlete, they have a shot in the league if they put in the work and stick with it.

Bull **** !!!!They cut him because pop questioned the signing................simple math

Especially when your behind Zwinak, Belton, and Lynch on the depth chart.

And then behind Saquan Barkley who is one of the best RB in the country. I read that Barkley did a bunch of weight room work and is now one of the strongest guys on the team. He's going to be a beast this year. Especially with a more open offense where he won't run into a wall on every play.

WP had 285 carries for 1,172 yards in college.

But, yea, that is pretty comparable to a dude with 4 total carries in his college career. Very accurate comparison.

Tom Brady had a record of 20-5 in his 25 starts at Michigan. He threw for over 5300 yards and had 35 touchdown passes.
