Can he play the slot though? I thought he was more of a safety/cb hybrid?

Pre-injury to Golson, and seeing where Bruns and Davis are, I'd agree. Offer a 4th round pick

Now I'd say up it to a 3rd round pick as a DB's as a unit will be forced to play two rookies and might be even worse off than last year for several games.

Rowe on our team can play outside, allowing Gay to move to the slot. He's tall, fast, a did well as a rookie. We could really use him.

I think Rowe is more of a safety. I would try and sign Leon Hall to man the slot.

a 3rd if they give us a 5th. Yeah, I'm playing madden franchise mode here

I knew before I opened this thread that Rowe would be a guy that you had a chubby for at some point. I myself think we will be fine..one of the outside guys(burns Grant) will have to step up and Gay will move to the slot again if Davis can't handle the job. No need to bring in another guy and give up a draft pick so we can ***** and moan around draft time about giving up said pick..

They drafted him in the 2nd round one year ago and are already willing to cut bait? Seems fishy.

This article says he was a gem on a dismal defense, which, by rankings, seems as bad/worse than the Steelers against the pass.

He started five games on the outside after Nolan Carroll went down with a season-ending broken ankle in Week 12. According to Pro Football Focus, which tracks coverage numbers, Rowe was targeted 58 times this season and gave up 30 completions (51.7 percent) and three touchdowns, at 11.6 yards per catch. The completion rate and yards-per-catch average both are very respectable figures, particularly for a rookie.

makes it even curiouser that they would want to get rid of him.

Grant can't play inside? have no idea

Me either seems like now would be a good time to find out instead of trading away a pick..

Well, the last time we traded for a Philly CB it worked out sooooooo well. :P

Now it makes sense. He is perceived as a Chip Kelly pick, and the Eagles are doing everything possible to distance themselves from any and everything Chip Kelly. They despise that dude.

Lol, yeah, this seems familiar. Maybe we can trade for the guy then have him sit the bench.

Honestly, I don't see how one is relative to the other. For whatever reason, Boink fell out of favor and got into a dog house. That has no bearing on what would happen if they traded for this guy.

It was a joke.

Rowe is a good fit for what the steelers like to do. If Grant is not looking any better then they should consider Rowe. Cockrell is a decent player but not great. If Golson could ever stay healthy, he could be a very good slot CB. Rowe and Burns would be a good pair of outside CBs with length.

The issue with this is I think the Steelers do not want to throw Burns out there too early. They want Gay to stay outside this year. They would prefer to ease Burns in. With Burns it's all about upside.

I know the Steelers liked him a lot coming out.

But do they like him enough to give up a pick for him..they seemed to rue that decision during the draft this year.
