His head is giant! His rookie year was shaky, but yes, he proved to be one heck of a player and team guy! No issues there.
This still make me laugh even to this day....LOL

There are two types of star talent that aren't first rounders. Guys like AB who simply work their way into it. And guys like Bell and Bryant who have character flaws. The Steelers and everyone else knew what he was when they took him. Let's not kid ourselves. Same with Bryant.
I don't think he just learned to catch and run like that as a Steeler. He has power, speed, can catch and block. I think every team knew that but also knew he was a weed monster. That is why he fell to round two. But regardless that was then and this is now. Keep him , plan around his absence cause mark my words this ain't the end. Next one is full season. Do what the Cowboys did with McClain. Keep signing him to short term contracts at market value with little money guaranteed. Use the franchise tag as your leverage. I dont know if there is a limit on the amount of times you can use the tag but I know you can use it twice. So that has him as a Steeler through 2018. Good enough.

The guy can't stay out of trouble, but let's also not pretend that the Steelers are all of a sudden going to change the types of players they bring in. Franchise him a couple of times and maybe he'll figure things out and we can worry about him then. No reason to let him walk for nothing and not even explore the option of a tag.
You can't really change the type of player you are bringing in when the majority is smoking. There is a reason the CBA is set up the way it is. The league knows the majority of its talent smokes which is why they agree to set it up so they can smoke. The time when they do test is for the public so they can say see we do test these guys. If they could not test at all for it they would. But with that comes public scrutiny.
I really don't know where you develop your analysis to form these opinions...
So which part of Coach's assertions are not valid?
1.) You think Bell's acting mature?
2.) You think his words match his actions? Please explain.
3.) You don't think virtually every Steelers' free agent doesn't say things like "I would like to remain a Steeler?"
4.) You think it makes sense to rush Bell to sign a new contract instead of making him play this season first?
I'd like you to sell how any of these assertions are not valid. Be specific. Refute the actual points instead of just making general "mud at the wall" statements.
Bermudasteel isn't likely to reply, I do like the guy though.
At the end of 2015, I was thinking our offense will be incredible.
The team has taken three major hits.
Bryant gone for the year with drug issues.
Bell gone for at least 4 games, maybe more if he can't pass the next drug test.
Miller retired and his replacement still hurting.
Another slide backward in terms of the team record is possible.
Yeah, we have Ben, and AB, but the loss of the above three, I think will cost us.
There's no doubt it will cost us, anyone who says otherwise just don't want to accept the truth. Yet I do believe the team has the tools to decently substitute them. Deangelo is a proven starter, green is a developing ypun guy with the physical skills and already with starting minutes, Coates drafting could be a coup, didn't make much sense until the martavius weed dependence was publicly known, the kid comekd thrive with Ben feeding him., he has the size and strength
"I'm not a real greedy guy. I don't play football just for money or things like that," Bell said. "I just want to be valued. Wherever it is -- whether its $15 million or lower or higher, whatever it is - I think we will get to an agreement eventually.
