Bell suspended

Well there must be consequences for ones actions. If Bell skips a test then if the rule states that it is a failure...well then it is a failure. If you tell your players to not dance and celebrate after making a tackle 20 yards down field(and draws a penalty) or there will be consequences....well enforce them. The argument is that you have to let players be who they are now a days. Bla bla bla. ....All I'm saying is reel them in so we don't get called for stupid penalties. Simple fix but Andy explained to me that other teams have the same issue so we shouldn't worry about it.

You just let me know when you prove that the Steelers have more of a problem in this area then other teams..I already disproved they dont . So you spun that into no stupid penalties at all.

Still spinning lol..just stop. You are the one who claimed this was a problem every week. Did you say that or not. Then I told you it was only twice. I then explained that two penalties is not alot you then said there should no stupid penalties at all. Which is more realistic? Coaches are reluctant to tell players not to celebrate after big plays. I then explained to you why. Tempering player emotions in a emotional game is a slippery slope. Of course coaches ask that players celebrate within the league rules but will never say don't celebrate. So they live with the occasional penalty. Which is what the Steelers had last year. Not that perpetual problem you tried to make it seem like in your posts. But im the one spinning??

Reread all my posts. I have stated it seems like every week. I even stated some might have been from the year before that I could be thinking about. So instead of saying what I said which is a twists of half truth just quote what I have in it's entirety. You have done this the entire thread and than said I am spinning it. While you are the spinner. LOL SMH

So here I am posting in this thread defending myself on something you have twisted to protect your beloved Tomlin.

Again. Could Tomlin improve our team in this area? I won't wait for your answer because I know you won't.

Again it isn't about other teams. Why make the standard what other teams do. You are an idiot.

No you are trying to spin it as I love Tomlin I just don't like double standards..which is why responded to del like I did.

Improve what the only person stating this some grand issue is YOU. We had two such penalties last year..two is a problem??

Why the **** are we talking about Tomlin? This is about Bell and Bell alone. Personal responsibility people. He is a grown man at this point and it is not Tomlin's or anyone else's job to police these idiots off the field. The league has it rules and that is the part of the system designed to deal with this. The players agreed to it and have to live with it. At what point does Tomlin or any coach take responsibility for the personal choices of their players away from work?
Some of you seem to relish any opportunity to jump on Tomlin's ****. I almost think some were happy to hear this news just to have a chance to wrongly blame him.

Two penalties equal a culture gotcha.

PS Don't worry I'll have it later

Salute the nation

Your right Drink I'm done lol

Right. "2". I now remember 16. Bell 1 game. Mitchell 3 games. Bryant 2 games. Gay 2 games. Ahh....Mitchell another 4 games ...and Timmons 4 games. That was easy. Now prove I'm wrong. SMH and LOL 16 such penalties. Is that a problem? Idiot.

Only 4 games?

Give him some more time to heal - 5 WIDE till he gets back.

No problem, just like last year.

Two penalties equal a culture gotcha.

The culture is that after most of our big plays or average plays our players do excessive celebrating. Do they all draw a flag? Nope. That is the culture that has become our team. Maybe you enjoy Mitchell standing over a WR after making a tackle 20 yards down field after giving up the reception. I don't. We wouldn't want to curb their enthusiasm though now would we? SMH & LOL

so the injured RB, star RB, of the Steelers, now has 4 extra weeks to heal, and will be fresher for the playoffs. unfortunately, Tombert has ****** up because there is no legit b/u.
DOOMED!
Evil Snoop and Wiz have installed a water slide where the Stairway To Seven is supposed to be.

Crazy stuff here on this thread. Way I see it Bell just didn't take this situation all that serious and now he's paying for it. From the story I hear he never followed up on rescheduling his test and the NFL didn't hold his hand like they probably did in college. People blaming the coach, rap music or whatever doesn't get to the real issue. Time for that youngster to put his big boy pants on now and start planning his future a little better.

Y'all been comparing him to Ben and that's a real close case. Ben didn't actually start to wise up 'till he got married at what...late 20's ? Only difference, Ben was a juicer that liked the girls and Bell is a toker that likes to hang out with the rap crowd...potato-potatoe. It's really not all that unusual for these young guys to lose perspective when they get inundated with money and notoriety.

Worst knucklehead of them all had to be Plaxico Burress, talent to spare and couldn't scrape together enough sense to pay attention.

Can't argue that.

What really pisses me off about this is that the kid really isn't any better than Johnny Manziel, in the sense that his priorities are way out of whack.

Despite the current unwillingness of NFL teams to give RBs big contracts, Bell had a chance to break that trend, as he is both young and good enough to easily earn 10-15mil per year with his next contract.

Yet, he smoked it all away.

No team is giving him anything close to that after this, regardless of what he does on the field when he plays in October or so.

He's a ******* idiot.

This argument is so ****** stupid. Blaming the coach. Grow the **** up some of you.

Chuck Noll, who I consider one of the greatest coaches ever, had Ernie Holmes shooting at police helicopters one offseason. He started game 1 the next year. Joe Gilliam couldn't stay off the coke, yet he played him here and there in '75 when it really became an issue. Mean Joe got a pisser on and walked out on the team for a few moments in '74. Didn't sit him.

These are grown men. You cannot punish grown men into acting like grown men. They have to do it on their own. And I think it is harder today than it ever has been, with all the distractions, guys maturing.

And another thing. I could care less if the Steelers are some bastion of morality. I don't give a **** how many penalties they have as long as they win games. I guess I have to remember that on a message board I could be arguing with 14 years olds who still think the guys on their team are better or should be better guys than some other team. Every team has good guys and bad guys. Stop it with this immature I expect the Steelers to be better stuff. If that's what you believe, who were you rooting for in the '08 Super Bowl. Our good time Charlie QB or the upstanding Christian Kurt Warner?

IF theyd just drop it from the illegal substances list we could avoid this all together. With mary jane becoming legal across the country, I think this becomes a more complicated conversation. For all employers.

Not really. If employers don't want their employees smoking, then they shouldn't be doing it. Apparently there a ton of guys in the NFL that either don't or know how to play the system so they don't get suspended. Bell and Bryant are either selfish, dumb or both.

I used to have this same feeling until it was revealed just how lenient the NFL's drug policy/system really is. I mean, how much easier can it be when your employer all but tells you when you can and can't take a massive rip off your bong? Considering that, it's truly beyond ridiculous that this is even an issue.

Never cared if he stayed or went after the first incident, dumb guy who didn't learn after his first stupid, reckless act recipe for disaster once again as Bryant also showed.

The stigma of pot needs to go away. You legalize it and the cool factor goes away making it just another herbal supplement at that. In all honesty there really isn't anything special or bad about pot. Do it on your own time and understand you have a career

Immature and dumb

I respect your opinion but I really find it hard to believe that he'd start smoking again this close to the season after he JUST passed a couple months ago. If he did then he's a idiot but I just really doubt he'd really be that dumb.

Then you're ******* drunk. To think that Leveon is somehow some wonder-brained do-gooder at this point is ******* idiotic. Grow up
