Jerry Jones must be pissed :)

Come see what Dallas thought of Burns and Davis.

Davis, according to Dallas had a 5th round grade.

I too felt Davis was a reach in round two.

Also, he's a reach in round two yet you started another thread insisting that he needs to be a week 1 starter???

Al, if you read my stuff correctly I was talking about the PRE-SEASON, games one and two. I never said week 1 starter. Let's try to quote other people accurately.

The first pre-season game is pretty meaningless.

I'll venture a guess that Golden and Cockrell do not need the reps. The rookies do.

So start them. Get their feet wet. Let then learn from mistakes. If they get burned, so be it. Can they make plays? Let's find out what they do well! Then do it again for the 2nd pre-season game.

If neither player is ready okay, start Cockrell and Golden for the 3rd pre-season game, which is pretty much the dress rehearsal for the season.

The player ahead of Davis ( Golden ) was viewed as our 4th safety on the team until recently. Yes, I want to see what Davis can do with the first string unit during pre-season games 1 and 2.

The draft is very pick your flavor after you get down 5-10 spots. I am actually surprised they had Burns as a 2nd and Davis as a 5th. IMO Burns and Davis were both solid third round prospects. :)

I think Davis was more of a round 3-4 guy, but the Cowboys had him off their board. Why?

For every Cowboys' draft board, you'll find others where guys were rated a round or two higher. It's cool if that is actually their draft board, but really doesn't change anything. Plus, why would we worry how a team that has three playoff wins since 1996 evaluates prospects?

yeah, the Crackboys and their stellar performances over the years are who we should emulate in the draft.

Where are you getting that they had him off their board?

Dallas had a 5th round grade on Davis. I take back the part that he was off their board. He was off page one of their board, rounds 1-4.

Because, you know, their recent success is definitely a good indicator at what a solid job they do, not only at drafting players, but overall success! They are definitely the gold standard in today's NFL!

Well this isn't going according to plan huh Coach?

Looking at round one picks by Dallas from 2010-2015

Dez Bryant 2010. Pro bowl WR
Tyron Smith 2011. Perhaps the best tackle in the game. Pro Bowl
Morris Claiborne 2012. Major disappointment.
Travis Frederick 2013. Pro bowl level center
Zack Martin 2014. All pro as a rookie guard

Byron Jones 2015. Too early to grade. I'd say the Dallas Cowboys have done very well in round one since 2010. Better than us to be honest.

If you mean that most teams had a second-round grade on Burns and a 3rd-4th round grade on Davis, I think so.

Most teams I thought you only posted the cowboys board?? Where did most teams come from..oh most teams sounds better for your argument so you figured you would pull "most teams" out of a hat

I never posted on a cowboys board.

If you have a memory, you'll note that many good draft people such as Mike Mayock had a mid 2nd round grade on Burns. It's old news. I gave an overview of his targeted passing attempts a while back. No one said it didn't happen the way I described the action.

My main issues with Burns are he loses ground on slants and cuts and is very raw on recognizing route threes. He's a sucker for comeback routes, and he needs to learn when to get his head turned around. His long-term coverage speed to me could be an issue. He's neither fast nor slow, but does he have catch up speed when burned in the NFL? We'll see.

His best stuff was ball skills, or when he sees the QB throwing a ball his way. He'll make a QB pay for a bad pass.

Hahaha most teams??!! I didn't know you had the luxury of viewing all 32 teams draft boards. Outside of Sean Lee, who's always hurt, and maybe Demarcus Lawrence, Dallas hasn't exactly done jack **** with the rest of the draft.

I know your scrambling right now but no one said anything about you posting on the cowboys message board..I'm talking about their DRAFT board. You used the term most teams and only posted the Cowboys draft board..how does that equate to "most teams"?

And the draft is over so who cares what grade Joe ******** had on Burns. In one week he will practice, in a couple we will watch him play in games that's what matters now. We've heard you about a million times what you THINK are Burns issues. We don't need to hear them anymore. How about this you just say right here right now will Burns be a bust? Same for Davis..

DeMarco Murray was a great pick in round three. The Steelers miss plenty in rounds 2 and 3. Not quite as bad as Dallas does.

Aside from a bad owner, Dallas' biggest problem is Romo is hurt too often. You can look up their record with him healthy and with him hurt. You must admit they have done very well in round one.

Let me put it this way, 24 other teams passed on him. If the Steelers did not select Burns, he could slide into round two, where most draft pundits had him. The Steelers could have traded down, picked up a 3rd round pick and still had Burns.

I think Davis will disappoint. His coverage was pretty bad.

Burns 50/50. If he lacks recovery speed / quickness, Burns is in trouble and will be the next Chad Scott. You might not be able to see what I'm talking about in the pre-season games, but others will.

Was it Tomlin or Colbert that said, we are here to win games not the draft. So, the cowboys are drafting Pro Bowl talent but can't get into the playoffs or win playoff games? Is 3 playoff games since 96 correct?

I don't care if the FO drafts Pro Bowl players at every spot if the team can't win. Foolish.

Or Kansas City could have taken him who the **** knows who cares? Oh you do cause you still butt hurt about the draft. SMH.. That was May. No one cares about the what ifs could haves it's over. I wanted Billings I'm not crying about it or wishing Hargrove sucks to make me look right for wanting Billings. Let it go already..

Also don't talk in circles about Burns or Davis. Just write Bust if that's what you are calling. Say it "I think" no this coach I'm talking too. Say I know they will be bust. Put it on record Coach.
