It is meaningless, of course, but still pretty cool and future looks bright.

They are not an underdog in a single game; game in Cinci is a pick 'em, and Pats game is TBA. Other than that, we are favored in every game.

The downside is we typically have a flop season when we are favored going in, but hopefully not this time.

I think we have enough vets to not take games for granted. Tomlin seems incompetent at getting team ready when we are favored but I am hoping the players counteract his deficiencies.

Not an underdog in a single game. Wow.

And, conversely, the Browns are underdogs in every single game. Meaningless? Pretty much; that's why they play the game.

But, still, not a good indicator for how the Browns are going to do. The NFL always has surprises, but the big surprise would be if Cleveland wins more than a few games.

hate it when we aren't the underdogs, the team downplays to competition

I know. It drives me loco. And now we are facing an entire season as being the favorite (I am sure some of these lines will change as the season gets going, obviously.)

I just hope we have enough mature leadership to balance this out; Tomlin has a long track record of losing to the worst teams.

Vegas is hyping us. I don't like it. When we expected to win easy, its often not the case and the opponents become more motivated.

In the last 25 years, I can only think of about 5 games where I felt we didnt have a chance. Who cares about the gambling line, it just an anticipated arbitrary number hoping to draw equal bets from both sides.

I'm not worried about the whole "underdog" thing. The Steelers have some of the best talent in the NFL and should be one of the best teams this year.

Were we underdogs in all the losses to the bottom feeders under Tomlin ? His teams play down to the competition and he has been unable to do anything about it on his 9 years.

RELAX, this underdog / over dog arguement at this time of year is ONLY for message board fodder. GUARANTEE those "lines" change by season start.

Nuff said. I ain't scared - bring 'em all on!!!

It normally is not a good sign when we are favored too often.

In 2007 we were favored in 15 out of 16 games. We ended 10-6 and lost at home in the first round of the playoffs.

In 2009 we were again favored in 15 out of 16 games. We ended 9-7 and missed the playoffs.

We have never been favored in all 16 games before but those two seasons came the closest.

That's what I was talking about. Las Vegas has us at 10.5 wins for the 2016 season. Going 11-5 is unlikely as we play much better QB;s this season.

If forced to play I'd go under for San Diego, over for Houston.

it took an underdog offseason thread to have clete and pop agree on something.

I'm sure the sharing of custodial help has softened the animosity they once felt...........

Pop says his maid is an overachiever. I would wager that Clete agrees to that too...

I never said I had a maid; I do not. Clete said his maid makes more than we do.

I don't even have a lawn guy, a pool guy or a car wash guy.

Just to be clear: We are not favored in every game. The away at Cinci is a push, and Pats is TBA. That is why I worded it as "We are not an underdog in any game" as opposed to "we are favored in every game."

A small clarification.

So 14-2 then? I'm cool with that!

Forgive me - I meant to imply to that you had your own references about Clete's maid...

The phenomenon of us losing to garbage teams because we are beasts between the 20s but don't score in the red zone has to end. That's my issue. We finish drives against bad teams and we are 12-4 at worst.
