Long Snapper Upgrade Needed

Gotta be honest, I'm concerned about what we do if Greg Warren gets hurt. His stats are not very good anyway, so I can't believe we didn't pick someone up in the draft, what a **** up Tomin and company are. Could the backup centers like Chris Hubbard or Quinton Schooley fill in? Is Warren's money guaranteed if he goes on IR? I don't see us going far in the playoffs without solidifying this position. Any free agents available?
 
Wait a tick... What do you mean Warren's stats "are not very good"? He has one stat. ZERO botched snaps.

Doesn't matter, we have him for another year, and if he gets hurt, we can always have Silverback come in to botch the only long snap in 10 years on our team.
 
Warren is a very good long snapper. He can knock an egg off a cone 15 feet behind him. He's got pinpoint accuracy, control land good velocity. The only knock on his game is he adds little to kick coverage.

Outside of being one of few Steelers to have two super bowl rings, he was sorely missed when injured and Harrison had to take over. The Steelers gave him a 1-year deal in Feb 2016. I highly doubt he loses a roster spot, unless he's injured.

This must be a joke thread.....I'm chalking it up to that. In the unfortunate event that this was meant to be a serious topic my question would be, "What does he have to do to be considered a good long snapper besides never messing up a snap in recent memory? Does it require that he shave .00002 seconds off his snap time?" He doesn't seem to ever get run over when blocking. What else in the realm of a long snapper should he be doing better?

Was he not on injured reserve for one of the super bowls? I thought the steelers brought back a camp body that was hired as a furniture mover when he got hurt. The replacement did rather well if I remember correctly.

I don't see how that diminishes Warren's value. If it's a question of salary, it's not exactly like they are paying Warren a King's ransom to Long Snap.

Not meaning for it to diminish his value in the least I think he is excellent at his position, I was only trying to show it is not that hard to find a quality replacement since there are many decent guys at the position and teams only keep one on for the season.
 
The steelers are smart by signing him to a year by year deal. He is "old" and I know he ONLY has one job, but eventually it does catch up. Other than that, he is as SOLID as it gets !!!!!!!

Didn't Warren play QB his first season in Pee Wee league. So if Ben and are back up would go down he most likely could play QB in a pinch. He might be a little raw in this area but he has huge upside I think. My cousin saw a 4 min video Warren's Aunt video taped back then. He said Warren looked good.

The surprising thing about this is that Warren's aunt looked pretty good too!!!!

I'm sure there are subtle differences between the good and the best. I don't know them. Ive heard it is expected that the rotation of the snap to the punter is expected to end with laces up. Not sure if that is true. I wouldn't expect a botch from an NFL long snapper. Bet it happens maybe once in a thousand or so snaps. Warren is good enough as far as I can possibly tell.
