I have read multiple mock drafts today and a few have listed our pick as Vernon Hargreaves from Florida at 1.25. Is that even possible? Prior to these mocks, I have seen him locked in as a top 12 pick. Is there really a shot he could drop that far?

ESPN had him going 17 to the Dolphins on their special show today. I feel like no player from Florida ever lives up to their hype.

I watched him play every game last season - definitely a good DB and better than all of ours currently on the roster. This definitely mixes things up in the decision-making process...

You mean you weren't impressed by the stellar career of Aaron Hernandez/

Sarcasm aside, Hernandez's murder rap has no bearing on this kid's career. Florida or not. Obviously he has been looked at and interviewed and if by chance we end up with him.........I hope I don't find the taste of crow to bad. As said, he is better than what we've got !!!!

Salute the nation

He would be equivalent to Dupree and Decastro falling to us.

If we picked 16th, there might be a chance. But by pick #25, Hargreaves will be gone. He's an SEC battle tested and productive player playing a position that is high demand.

In past drafts, I like OLB A Barr, ILB Kuechely, S Earl Thomas, and others. The top players seldom fall to us! The rare example is DeCastero, but he was a guard, and they are not in demand like other positons.

Hargreaves will be a Revis-type player in the NFL ...and no, he won't be there at 1/25.

As for Florida guys not living up to the hype... Florida's OFFENSIVE players haven't lived up. That's because Spurrier's offense was so dominant in the 90's that all those players had wildly bloated stats. Spurrier put a LOT of defensive players into the league that did perform quite admirably.
Gators do just fine in the NFL...

I highly doubt he falls that far. I will be honest I haven't watched a lot of him because I assumed he'd be gone top ten. But what I saw he looks fluid, good speed, nice burst, and can stay in the back pocket of a receiver. I am just not sure how he doesn't go top 20.

Nope. Not unless he gets in trouble between now and Thurs. night.

Wow. I think not. Revis is super physical. A bump and run type able to jam his man at the WR and throw off all timing. Strong. Hargreaves has a thin build. He won't have that part of Revis game, which is what makes him so good.

Having said that, may Hargreaves drop to us!

but your team doesnt have a 1st round pick, so why would you post in this thread?

Just from watching the combine, no way do I think he fall to us. He looked far superior to every other DB at the combine in every drill. I don't think there's any way he makes it past 15.

They don't? Some dude named Emmit only rushed for more yards than any human being on earth in the NFL, that's all.

Then you got the Marcus Gilberts, Carlos Dunlaps, Matt Elams, Joe Hadens, Percy Harvins, Mike Pounceys, Reggie Nelsons, Jack Youngbloods, Chris Collinsworths, Jevon Kearses, Fred Taylors, etc. of the world. I am pretty sure I would take those players on my team.

That's a really sophisticated bit. I bet you just crack up the 3rd-graders with your sharp wit. Well, Tampa isn't considered the land of the enlightened.

you almost had a rhyme going, POP

X
you almost had a rhyme going, POP

I said a hip pop,
The hippie, the popie,
To the hip, hip pop, and you don't stop, a rock it
To the bang bang boogie, say, up jump the boogie,
To the rhythm of the boogie, the beat.
Now, what you hear is not a test - I'm rappin' to the beat,
And me, the groove, and my friends are gonna try to move your feet.

I should IP ban you for making Lil Wayne look Einsteinish by comparison.
