Schedule Release Tonight

only 1 game more than a 4 hour drive
week 2 vs Bengals - Burfict is suspended
week 8 bye
they have a stretch of 4 away games in 5 weeks late in the season before ending with 2 home games
only 1 home game in November

The one where the Bungholes only get 7 home games and have to go to London. :towel2:

I don't give two shlitz about the bungles or their schedule................. But I'd like what your sayin to hapin

Salute the nation

I like this. See at least 10 games that will be the national game. And that includes going up against the Cards out here in AZ, or it would be more, for me at least.
Have to consider whether to buy the NFL ticket this year.

I actually love the idea of a Christmas Day Steelers-Ravens matchup. They're due to take an asswhoopin' from the Steelers, and really, what better setting could one ask for, than on the birthday of our Lord and Savior?? Lol!

And what would REALLY be sweet, is if Pittsburgh dishes out an epic beatdown and thus, offically end any slim hopes Batimore had of making the playoffs:towel2:

Hey we don't have to play the Cheatriots in Foxboro.

I thought that was odd. It has been a very long time or it sure as hell seems that way.

They got royally screwed with the Thanksgiving game. How the **** can the league give them 2 road games within 4 days of each other? Guess they just won't practice at all that week. The only good thing is one of them is against the Clowns.

They are likely underdogs in four games at most and none until possibly week 7:

NE, @BAL, @IND, @CIN

And those will be slight underdogs (3 or less points) at worst. Basically almost 45%-55% win-loss percentages. That means they should almost split those four tough games this year at best and go 1-3 at worst.

As for the rest, the Jets and Browns at home look like the big spreads in our favor and likely the only games 7+ point favorites. We should win those.

All the other games look in the -3 to -6 favorite category. Even road games at Washington and Miami should be Steelers favored by a field goal. I'm going to lump all the other 10 games at 75% chances of winning.

That's (1 or 2) + (2) + (7 or 8)

That means a spread of 10 wins to 12 wins this year based just on Vegas odds and likely outcomes historically. I think odds based probability will be pretty close to 11 wins this year, which makes this one of our easier schedules (see 2009 and 2011). By comparison the last three years odds based probability projected 8.1, 9.1 and 9.0 wins.

Steelers and Tomlin have to delivery this year. Not a lot of excuses based on the schedule.

The Browns game is as good as a home game -- and they do have to play one Thursday night game so that will not be as bad ad Christmas Day ... I typically do Christmas Dinner .. going to screw that up -- New Years day Isn't that bad ....but also not my favorite .

Playing on the holidays sucks for me. Well Turkey night won't be so bad as most of the family stuff will be over. But Xmas and new years sucks. And I fear what those color rush uniforms will look like.

Couple interesting things about this schedule.

Obviously no west coast games. The farthest west we play is Indy, So all of our games are in the eastern time zone.

I knew for sure that the league would schedule the Bengals in the first 3 weeks. They did, and it's our home opener. I expect the Steelers to really take it to Cinci this year for that game.

The NFC East is terrible. It's all in flux and it was won by default last year. All teams had losing records going into Dec when they had to play each other to finish out the month. Dallas, if healthy should be the best (based on talent), Philly is in a new system, Wash is in the second year for Cousins, but we seem to own them in DC, and their fans know it.

I'm surprised we only have 3 primetime games. Dallas seems to get 5-6 each year.

We also got lucky and face all the best teams of the divisions we play, at home. NYG, DAL, Jets, NE plus KC is a stronger team than Indi, and we get KC at home as well. This is a home field advantage schedule if I've ever seen one before.

We have a bye week before we face Balt and our bye is mid season, both are quite favorable for us.

I see the Bengals game on Dec 18 being the decider for the division this year. Hopefully we can rest starters for the final 2 weeks as a 1 seed!

I have a convention in Balt for work in Oct (27-29) where the airfare & hotel are paid for. I've been waiting for the schedule for months so I could start planning for the Steeler game on Oct 30th. I was hoping for one in Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Washington, or the close surrounding area. Chances were great. Free ride & hotel.

Wouldn't you know it, we have a bye on Oct 30th. Just my luck to get ******.

I'm surprised we only have 3 primetime games.

4: Monday night opener Skins, Oct. 2 Sunday night Chefs, Turkey Night Colts, Dec 18th sun night Bungholes. Outside of that, there are five 4:30 starts. Just seven 1pm starts for the whole season.

One game at a time.

I will try to get to two games this year - Miami and either the opener in Washington or the Baltimore game in November...

Only ONE MNF game. Feels a little low, but we have some other night games, including on THXG.

And some of the 1 and 4 games will end up nationally televised. I bet I only need my NFL Ticket for about 10 weeks or less. But I will still probably keep it for those 10 games, plus being able to watch any game I want at any time.

MNF is a redheaded step child now, SNF surpassed it as the marquee game of the week years ago.

Dallas game is a 100% done deal. Will be there. Gotta work out the $$ for others. Want to go to v NE and at Miami as well. Schedule actually plays out really nice for me this year.

I disagree TNF is the reddest headed step child of the bunch. I wouldn't watch that color rush bullshit last year. Then we'd have Saturday games with the TNF moniker all over it. Holy ****, shell out a few bucks for a Saturday Night Football Logo!
