Rams trade up for #1 pick

Rams Trade up to #1

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/15201946/tennessee-titans-trade-no-1-pick-los-angeles-rams

"Tennessee will send the top selection along with its fourth- (No. 113) and sixth-round (No. 177) picks this year to the Rams in exchange for Los Angeles' first-round pick (No. 15), two second-round selections (Nos. 43 and 45) and a third-round pick (No. 76) in 2016. The Titans also will get the Rams' first- and third-round picks in 2017."

With no clear #1 pick this year, you have to think the Titans made out. Could the Rams be eyeing a QB?

They made out like a bandit.

Rams likely take Wentz. They give up essentially 5 players to get a QB.

They made out like a bandit.

And they will be robbed again by giving up next's years pick ( Which should be a top 12 pick ). Tennesee will get much better.

LA will select Wentz #1 overall.

They made out like a bandit.

No ****, Titties made a great move

“Being able to acquire six players in the top 76 this year, along with next year when you factor that into it — I am assuming five in the top three rounds — that is 11 players that we can add to this football team that should not only increase our depth, but give us good quality players at all those positions,’’ Titans general manager Jon Robinson said.

Makes sense. The Rams are in need of a QB and a name to sell tickets. The titans don't "need" any of the top tier players in this draft but do have multiple holes to fill. They likely still get a starter in the first and I feel the best value in this draft is from 30-80 which the Titans now get 3 extra picks in.

I feel this trade hinges on how the Rams do this year. If they win 12 games they probably made a great trade. If they win 4 the Titans will pick top 5 and look like geniuses.

So what will be Jeff Fisher's excuse as to why his mediocrity continues?

First, that's the going price to move up. Always has been, always will be. You either are willing to pay or not.

Second, while I am entrenched that I think Wentz is the better QB prospect I am unsure if I am in Los Angeles I would not really consider Goff over him. Goff was born and raised in California and has the perfect build and arm talent for that type of weather and that type of division. If you are trying to create a fan base in the L.A. market, wouldn't Goff make more sense even if the grades you had on the players favored Wentz by just a little bit?

If you fail with Wentz and Goff turns out to be a stud, the fan base will crucify you for a generation.

At their peak potential we are debating an Andrew Luck/Blake Bortles player vs. a Matt Ryan player. Both are good but is one really better than the other? Not particularly.

I hope the Rams know what they are doing (which I highly doubt).

While Goff may be the better guy for the Rams one would believe the move up to #1 definitely suggests a move in front of Cleveland to acquire Wentz. They may have been able to get Goff where they were without mortgaging the future, or at the least moved into the 7-8 range saving guaranteed money and future picks. Great move for Tennessee though.

Yeah, the Rams might have been able to get Goff at 1/15, but if they are 100% sold on him being their guy... I can see them wanting to make sure of it. Goff, to me, is the better prospect than Wentz, but maybe Fisher wants another Steve McNair type of guy (with whom he was successful at Tennessee).

As for the Titans, this is a GREAT trade...assuming they pick the right players with those picks. Problem is they really need a lineman and Laremy Tunsil (LT - Ole Miss), would have been a great addition. Will Tunsil be available at 1/15?

rumor had it that the crackboys would take a QB.
now do they go with Wentz or the path Del suggests?

Titans Trade #1 Overall Pick To Rams

The Tennessee Titans have traded away the number one overall pick in the NFL Draft to the Los Angeles Rams.

Tennessee will send the top selection along with its fourth (No. 113) and sixth-round (No. 177) picks this year to the Rams in exchange for Los Angeles’ first-round pick (No. 15), two second-round selections (Nos. 43 & 45) and a third-round pick (No. 76) in 2016.

The Titans also will get the Rams’ first- and third-round picks in next year’s 2017 draft.

2016 Tennessee will have

1st rd - 15th
2nd rd - 33, 43, 45th

Wow....wonder where the lambs are going with it.

Seems like a lot to give up by the Rams.

I would assume they're after a QB?

Pornstache must know something we don't because I didn't think any of these QB's coming out were that special.

I'd not be a bit surprised if the Browns offered their entire draft to move up a spot.

because, Cleveland.
