For the purpose of this thread, let's keep in the first two rounds.

1 ) Robert Nkemdiche, DL. Not many tackle or sacks, and he has character issues. Projected to go in round one.

2 ) Su'a Cravens, S/LB.
A poor workout. PRO DAY RESULTS
40-yard dash: 4.69 seconds
Vertical: 30 1/2 inches
Short shuttle: 4.41 seconds
3-cone: 6.92 seconds

Too slow to be a DB, and maybe to small to play ILB. We have two quality starters at ILB anyway.

have to agree with you on both

have to agree with you on both

Which means the Steelers will pick both players. Just kidding.

The other player I wouldn't sign off on is Apple. I'm very 50.//50 on him. While the need and upside is there, I think he has a high bust potential and played with a good front seven that made him look a little better than he was. The scouting on him needs to be done very carefully. No Chad's Scott or Deion Figures please!

I don't want Apple, not in the first. I'm a big OSU fan, and have never been impressed with him. If he were to slip to the third, cool, but that won't happen. Please stay FAR AWAY from him. I'd be okay with Nkemdiche in the second, but would rather Andrew Billings in the first.

A'shawn Robinson. He's a good player but I don't think he's what they need. If they got him in rd 2, I probably wouldn't hate it but if they go DL in the first, he better be a pass rusher.

Reggie Ragland. I'm seeing him mocked to Steelers a few places. I will lose my mind if they draft him. Again, he's good but ILB is not a pressing need and Ragland is not some super athlete that you just have to have ahead of CB, OLB, DL, or even WR. I wasn't wild about the Shazier pick but at least he's a freak athlete so it's a potential home run as a game changer. Ragland is not that. He will be good for years but more like Timmons than a Bowman or Willis. You can get guys like him later.

Cardale Jones. Yeah he has a cannon but he's a huge project. He knows ZERO about a passIng offense. He will have to be taught from scratch. In assuming you'd have to draft him by RD 4 which is too high for any QB, IMO, nevermind such a project.

Any RB not named Ezekial Elliott. Aside from him, I see no RB worth more than a 4.

Any TE. The kid from Arkansas is good and I like Hooper from Stanford but just like ILB, I don't see any TE in the first few rounds who is worth taking ahead off other need positions.

I like Apple, but he needs good coaching on technique. He was very grabby at Ohio State. I actually think Apple will be there at the end of round 1, early rd 2.

The new trend is using a hybrid SS/LB in nickel. Cravens will be drafted for the role. Problem is Shazier is the guy who SHOULD be able to fill that role for the Steelers . I don't see a place for Cravens.

I like Apple too. I think he'd be a good Steeler

Guys I see projected to us that I don't like.

RD1- Andrew Billings. Dude spends more time on his back that Pamela Anderson or who ever is now the most loose hollywood actress.

RD2- Jordan Jenkins. I guess I woudn't throw my beer can at the TV if he was in round 2 but he definitely looks like a bust. He looks like tarzan plays like Jane. If you put Jenkins and Jarvis Jones together you might actually have something but we can't morph the two into one so I hope we stay away.

Robinson is not a stationary type of mountain. He can make plays for negative yardage and did so every season.

While these numbers for a DT are just okay, they don't tell you how he pushes the pocket forcing the QB to make a bad throw or getting sacked by someone else. Such as man is needed in our nickel and dime.

As a base NT, he'd offer value as a run stuffer, and would be a key cog on the goal line defense. I'd be okay with him if the best pass rusher and corners worth the pick is gone by pick #25.

dont want rnd 1
Nkemdiche,
any OL

Would like
Jackson
Alexander
Apple
Neal

Would not *****

Billings
Robinson

drew kaser punter texas a@m. good hang time but totally overrated

Robert Nkemdiche or Apple

I simply think both have enough question marks that you don't pick them round 1.

I don't understand the love affair with Apple. He's simply not that good. Now, is he better than Blake? Yes. I think he'd make an okay 3rd or 4th corner, so he's worth a 3rd rounder. But NFL starter? No. He doesn't like to tackle, has a tendency to be out of place, and will draw at least 2 pass interference calls a game. I've watched every Buckeyes game of his career, and I wish I felt better about him.

This sounds crazy, and it's the ultimate homer comment, but I'll accept anyone the Steelers deem worthy with their draft picks. I simply have faith in the process. They brought Nkemdiche in for a visit, if the braintrust collectively agree that he's worth the risk, okay by me. Same goes for Apple, or anyone else, really. I just can't see the lot of Tomlin/Colbert plus coordinators, position coaches and the scouting dept. ******* up that badly on making a call like that.

Same goes for the weed issues, I mean I presume the majority of these players probably smoke weed from time to time. It's almost impossible to sort out which one will have the type of issues Martavis Bryant has, or Santonio, or Leveon Bell, et al. There may be guys that have a huge weed problem, just haven't been caught yet, so it's not in their file. At the end of the day you have to roll the dice and hope for the best.

I will trust our FO to make these decisions on a player-by-player basis. So I'll have faith in whomever they pick, be it first round to the very last pick, that they'll make the best, most educated picks possible.

Uncle Jarvis says Hi.

Coach gives his annual Kiss of Death to Robert Nkemdiche.

I wouldnt take him at 25, but would trade down with the Broncos if Lynch is on the board, and take him there.
