I know it ain't my money, but I'm a fan, which means I'm a zealot, and that means I get illogical. I am in no favor of cutting them. But I'm frustrated that those 2 are always on sideline.

Bell is a question mark. When he's healthy clear of off the field stuff, he's great. But he has to keep that weight off and stay out of trouble. Bell became a hip-hop musician in the offseason. This bothered me a tad. Not because I have anything against the music, but because those in the business would likely test positive in NFL drug tests.

Some players are unlucky. Doesn't mean you have to keep signing them. In Pouncey's case, and I don't dislike the guy, he's had major injuries to the same ankle three times so it's questionable how much longer he can hold up. As it is, for being supposedly one of the top centers in the league, they don't seem to lose much on those frequent occasions when he's out and a journeyman is playing. I wouldn't give him another contract and if I did it would have a fairly low base and loaded with incentive bonuses.

Tweeting negative stuff toward a fan saying he's rich and they are not. How classy.

Complaining to the media that his brother Mike was being treated unfairly when he was part of the problem.

Supporting a murderer with his Free Hernandez hats.

I see a pattern here of poor judgement, don't you? It would not surprise me one iota it he's caught in the act one day.

If the player acts and behaves like an adult ( Which Pouncey has not see my above post ) , I have no issues with him as a player provided tires as hard as he can. If he doesn't have the ability, the onus is on the coaches to start someone else, or the GM to replace him.
If he underperforms in a large contract that irks me and I think he should be cut. See Woodley. Does that clarify things?

As a fan I think Pouncey is way overvalued in terms of allocated cap space relative to his playing ability and availability for games, proven to be easily replaced 2x by a cheap journeyman, often injured, and with some off the field baggage.

So to answer your question, I have to root for him as a player, even though he publicly supported a murderer, but that won't stop me from not liking him off the field. I was in the same boat for Vick. But once Vick was released I and many others were happy as we are " grown *** " people with better ethics. They made their own beds. Once he's off the team, don't ask us to sleep in it. Others are free to like him once he's off the team.

This offers an interesting segway. In my opinion, our skill players with Ben opens things up for the backs. You just can't afford to commit extra men in the box. Quite the opposite you need to prevent RAC plays and Ben likes to throw deep.

This is why we can pick up a Staley or Williams for a relatively low cap space and have them play like all stars. Add a few extra points with Munchak being the OL coach and players like DeCastro and Gilbert playing like Pro-bowl players.

Please understand Roger Goodell can suspend Pouncey at any time for the conduct detrimental to the league. If you look back at Pouncey's self-inflicted wounds, he's pushing the envelope with the alleged assault and free Herandez stuff. Nothing you say? LOL.

This is a strange conversation, no fan is rooting for a suspension, but if it happens it should not surprise based on his knowns past transgressions. In reality there is likely some stuff the Steelers sheriff for hire ( since the team has cut ties with ) or team know that we do not.

100% correct. The fact that there was no video of the assault are reasons the case was dismissed. What if Ray Rice had no video in his battery case? He gets a story which he denies, then walks. But because there was video, he was nailed.
