yes,,, but not if said rotation is less than this year.. Moats is going to get some snaps.. Im saying it wont be like it was THIS Year. And then your assessment would be wrong.

You really think they care about how good they look? Could it possibly be they hope he gets better so he can contribute to the overall team?
Despite what many of you want to believe these two guys are probably in the top tier in the league for GM/Coach in terms of job stability. I very much doubt their ego comes in to play on the matter. Every team has hit and miss picks I doubt they dwell on them like some here.

I can't see this. Maybe they hold on a tad long hoping the player would/will improve. Every Coach/GM misses on draft picks. High ones and low ones. ....and probably middle round ones too.
By 2014 there was no one left on the team from the 2008 and 2009 drafts.
Some of you guys love conspiracies. Tomlin and Colbert really don't have to worry abut looking like morons, which is where your conspiracy falls apart. The Rooney's aren't firing anybody, and I am pretty sure Tomlin and Colbert don't give a **** what we think. I think they keep guys hoping they turn it around so the team is better, not for some nefarious reason.
Mind you, I am not defending the pick of Jarvis Jones. I hated the pick, because for some reason I paid some attention to him when he was in college, and I wasn't very impressed. He ran around a lot. Whoopee. I just object to the conspiracy theories.

Dupree was rotated because he's a rookie learning a new defense. Dupree played for a team that didn't even have a LB coach. He has to learn everything.
Jarvis played OLB in a 3-4 defense. The whole reason he was drafted was because he could supposedly start immediately. And he pretty much did. Jarvis has not struggled to learn the position. He just lacks the basic athleticism to be a pass rusher.
The worst thing a team can do is lie to themselves. The steelers have told themselves the lie that their secondary is just fine with late round picks and they are paying the price. Let's hope they don't lie to themselves that Jarvis will be good and pass on an upgrade as they have done with CBs.
i don't think there's a conspiracy, I just think that Tombert isn't very good at drafting defensive players and what they do is one's natural reaction to cover up their mistakes. See stuff like that in business all the time.
Yea, but you can't cover up your mistakes in the NFL. The guy plays, and everybody sees he isn't producing like they hoped. What are they covering up? If they don't play him, they ain't covering anything up, either.
I'm just going to go with what Joey Porter said from the beginning he was going to rotate them guys to keep everyone fresh.
That's why they keep them when they shouldn't and talk them up when they're not worth talking up.

My main problem with Jarvis is that he's too small, not strong enough, and because of his spinal stenosis that they knew about before they drafted him, he would be unable to GET strong enough to be an effective player in the NFL. That's why he wasn't a legit first round pick. For some reason Tombert seems to think that small fast LB's and CB's no taller than 5'10" are the ****.
They also said they were going to limit Harrison's snaps to keep him fresh, he ended up playing more than Jarvis because Jarvis was so bad.

You'd better be messing! Although Dupree flashed a nice burst and brute strength as a rookie, he's a very unaware player, who had a low Wonderlic score. He needs good coaching, better football awareness,and work on technique.
The other thing that worried be a bit is Dupree never had more than 7.5 sacks in any season in college. The upside is there for sure.
He's better than Jarvis Jones for sure. The question is, can he be as good as say a focused Woodley?

Under the LBR (Level of Bust Rankings- determined solely by number of pages SN dedicates to scrutinizing a Steeler) JJ has a lot of work to do to catch the little man from K State. C'mon Jarvis you can't lose to a 5'6 pipsqueak, eh... maybe you can.
Maybe your definition of covering up is different than mine. If they had a better player behind him that was a college FA pickup and wouldn't play him cause JJ is a 1st, OK, that is covering up. I haven't seen that yet. Maybe we will. Maybe they should have kept that Howard Jones kid over JJ, especially in light of the fact that they aren't playing as much traditional 3-4. But at this point anything like that.

I wanted them to keep HoJo last year, too bad they didn't...he was raw but did show potential. Given the crazy talent we had at the 50-53rd spots on the roster it was quite clear why we couldn't keep him though... Oh wait, that wasn't us.
