Okung coming for a visit

He could be. But he hasn't quite lived up to his draft slot (6th overall) and he has been dinged lately. His weakness is in pass protection. He is a little slow on his feet. But he is a pretty good road grater in the rush game.

If anyone can help him achieve his full potential, Mike Munchak can. Munchak has done wonders for the Steelers' O-Line since he came aboard and the players LOVE playing for him. This would be a very good signing.
 
I agree. I've liked what Munchak has brought to the Steelers, so if Okung does sign hopefully that's the case.

So it must just be that Beachum isn't interested in returning?

We do not have a lot of cap room at the moment. I wonder what the offer is and what steps are in the works to clear some additional cap space. Hope he signs.

I read somewhere we had just under $4 mill and would have to do some restructuring if we would sign him or any other LT.
 
We have timmons and Heyward available for restructures, it wpuldnt be a problem or they wouldn't give him an offer
 
People always harking about cap space. They will restructure what they need to restructure.

Money isn't holding these potential free agents back from signing. At least a lack of money.

it's the fact the Steelers won't get into a bidding war and overspend.

They have a plan and stick to it.

At his best, he was frequently argued as possibly the best tackle in the league for a few years. I'm sure his play must have fallen off a smidge or the Seahawks would be willing to pony up.

Timmons is in the final year of his deal so they'd have to extend his contract.
 
Makes me wonder why the interest in Okung. Not that I don't want to see depth at LT, but what are they seeing in AV on film that we don't get to see? Is his merely a depth move? Is the writing on the wall for Adams?

Adams supposedly struggling with his injury still.... I wouldn't be shocked with a injury settlement.

If we can get a vet for a couple of years while AV polishes his skills and subs as a swing T the better the team will be

No ****? Damn, I knew he was in town and just got the notification that he has been officially offered a deal. Sorry if that was repeat. Sometimes I get all excited and I get this funny feeling in my stomach...just above my wiener. I do impulsive **** when that happens, and it usually ends me up in embarrassing situations. Oppa dee, Oppa da!
