Bryant's agent says he's still clean

There is no way he missed drug tests due to depression. You think his agent would let that happen? He missed the drug tests because he knew he would fail.
 
I was under the impression that Bryant was in John Lucas clinic last year. A very good program for the record. Trying to be positive and am pulling for Bryant. But, this deal is not looking good at all.
 
Is it possible that they have Bryant rework his contract? Somehow he eats the money but can't be picked up by another team for 12 months almost like a non compete?
 
So did the physical that Martavis took 3 weeks ago include a drug screen urine analysis?

If it did then he would have been clean for about 30 days prior to that, with marijuana detectable for that length of time.
So he really is clean or smoked right after the season ended. And as stupid as that would be I still have sympathy for him as a human being. Hope he gets what ever help he needs to be successful in life.
 
Whole thing sucks. Dudes got a problem. Be it addiction or depression or both, he has a major malfunction. Well, Coates has to step up now.
 
I'm not buying it. 24 years old, playing in the NFL making millions per year and you're messing the whole thing up because you can't stop smoking weed? FOH, let this kid go now. Don't need him around if he can't understand the dynamics of being a professional football player. His agent along with the rest of his inner circle should be kicked to the curb too. To allow this to happen, epic fail. What the hell is he depressed about? Get rid of this train wreck and let his agent or whoever sort it out. I'm done!
 
Horseshit. If I skip a random drug test by my employer, I'm fired. The only way I'm excused is if I'm on PTO approved before the test is requested, or someone hits my car on the way to the clinic.
 
Let this kid go. We just picked up a 6'6" veteran tight end that runs a 4.45 forty who can catch.......guess where the ball is going now Bryant? We're good!!!!
 
I'm really ok with every part of the statement except for one. The part where it says he will be checking into rehab soon. If he is clean and has depression issues he doesn't need rehab. He needs psychiatric help. you can't have it both ways. Either he has a drug problem and requires help or he doesn't.
 
I wouldn't let him go. Let's say the kid finally gets help and turns it around? Stranger things have happened. I would like the Steelers to be able to reap the benefits of that. And don't give me hat **** about it effecting the team, and how will other players think about it. In every NFL locker room there are guys who get away with more than other guys do based on talent. Hell, Joe Greene admits he could be a huge pain in the ***. But nobody was cutting Joe Greene. And I ain't saying Martavis is impactful like Joe Greene. But he does have a lot of talent.
 
If the money part & cap is is as beleived, why cut him? Seems a very small risk to obtain rights to his contract. If he truely is broke, the Rooneys will pay for rehab and see this through as thery have allready shown they care about him. Bottom line is he will have time to confront his ailments and become one of two things......1.) better and in the right direction OR 2.) worse and C-U-T. It will be up to him to determine his direction. Work HARD Martavious and do this for YOU first.!!!!

Totally disagree. He says he has represented bad people. This just isn't one. If everyone who has any form of addiction is a moron or a bad person there isn't a whole lot of smart good people out there.

If it's depression only, you don't check into rehab. Is everyone who gets depressed also doing drugs? F--- no. Makes no sense. I know a person who is manic, and she isn't on anything at all. She would never check into a rehab clinic.

Maybe....maybe not. Depression is a powerful thing. In the end the NFL looks at a missed test as a failed test. Period. If he does suffer from depression though he has my compassion. Football at this point should be secondary to his life though. I wish him the best.

This sucks for Steeler fans, the Steelers, and Bryant and his people. But he is not Chris Henry
 
BTW, no one ever checks into rehab for weed. No one. You cannot be addicted and you have no withdrawal symptoms. That is a joke.

Maybe the clinic he is checking onto deals with depression.

I think Goodell road into town as the new sheriff and was going to clean all this up with a lot of zero tolerance policy and he has made a big ****** mess. Because not everything fits into the clear cut. And when you have a gray area issue and zero tolerance, you have an argument to be made in court. And he has been totally abused in court.

No one checks into rehab for weed cause in reality in the real world weed really isn't a problem. This is a special circumstance where you have a guy who maybe isn't addicted to weed, but is certainly dependent upon it to feel right. And there are millions of people like that. And his job and lively hood are on the line. And possibly his mental health.

While it is not physiologically addictive it is highly psychologically addictive, do some research. Unless that was witty sarcasm (unlikely) that post was the joke.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, typical pile of excuses generation jibberish. "Highly psychologically addictive" is code for bull ****. I don't need any "research." Instead, I have what I call "life experiences and observations" - no "research" needed.

How about applying everyone's favorite: Occam's razor. The most simple explanation is usually the correct one. The dude likes blowing hippie lettuce and he isn't the brightest bulb on the tree. All this "checking into rehab even though he is clean, for depression" is all subterfuge. The dude is dumb and like to smoke tree....so, like a moron, he fires up because he likes to get high, and THEN had to high tail it when they wanted to test him.....it's what a dummy would do....make dumb decisions. And then, in a perfectly classic move, try to shift the angle to him being a "victim." That is what people like this do. And with today's shattered, dumbed down, fluorinated society, that dog actually hunts, to a degree. Pathetic.
 
Obviously you know not the synapses of the brain and how they work. While it could be an excuse, neither of us know the truth to this.

If he is using depression as an excuse that would be very weak, however if he does suffer from depression that is a serious issue. I will not persecute someone who may truly need help, if facts are brought to show otherwise then I will be disappointed in him...but until then maybe he truly needs help and mindless name calling and belittling does no good.

Actually, my belittling was directed more at you; if MB truly suffers from depression, I won't ridicule that at all. I didn't see anything from his past that mentions depression at all.

But that doesn't mean it still can't be true.

I guess we will just have to wait and see.
