How depressed would you be as a Denver fan?

OK, you lose your QB who just won a ring.

Not a huge deal, he was toast, physically, and now we hear he needs hip replaced. OK.

But the other QB who also played last season, and knows the system/team, etc., chose to bail for a little more money in Houston.

So you are missing your #1 AND #2 QB from last year.

Now word is they want to trade for the Dirty Sanchez......color me wanting to throw up if I am a Broncos' fan.

I have NEVER seen the last Super Bowl champ with LESS of a chance to repeat in my entire life.

They also lost a few guys from that #1 D as well.

Not very. Recent world champs. Several qb's in the draft to pick from. Still have a good defense, some good players. Listen, Elway knew not to overpay for Osweiler. May turn out to be his best move of the offseason. Now that money can be spent elsewhere. Very manageable....

Not as depressed as I'd be if I were a Pats fan...if the Steelers get 7th ring this yr then Ben retired I would not be depressed.

Well, recent world champs thing takes the edge off, but you'd LIKE to have a SHOT at repeating. I don't see it. And the timing of losing your top 2 QBs couldn't happen in a worst period of time. 1.) One of the worst FA crop of QBs in the history of the modern era. The fact that Brock fetched what he did is beyond telling; their just ain't **** out there as far as QBs go in the market.

Look at that list Kape and RG 3 are known frauds. Look at the rest of that list. Terrible.

2.) This is one of the worst drafts, on paper, for getting a good QB. Even the top 2, who will be long gone before Denver can draft, are ho hum, might-be-an-ok-NFL-QB, might not.

Lynch or Conner Cook or Prescott could fall to them, but they are hardly sure things in the NFL. All have a lot of questionable areas. Lynch and Prescott are raw as can be, and word is Cook is an a hole who's own teammates don't like.

Even if Ben wins a ring this season, he won't retire. He will want to try to at least match Bradshaw's/Montana's/Brady's 4.

They were losing Manning either way. Osweiler had 7 games under his belt. For all you know, he ***** the bed. Either way they are looking at drafting a QB. Not to mention, they will get some good comp picks. So, if not this year, maybe next.

Yeah...BUT! They pick up Mark Sanchez? Scratching head....Really? Must be a back up move.

I am not assuming Brock will be all that, but quick: Name a current SB champ in worse QB shape as Denver is in right now. Even after Elway quit after 1998, they had Brian Griese, who was better than anyone Denver has right now, definitely better than the Dirty Sanchez.

Granted Sanchez is not a top quality QB. But he can be ok as a backup until they acquire a more permanent solution there either FA or thru draft.

They gave up a whopping 7th round pick NEXT year for Sanchez. It's not like they are thinking he's their long term answer. Lets also not forget that Sanchez rode a defense and running game to TWO AFC championship games, and do you really think that Sanchez is worse than Peyton was last year?

As some others have said, fitz would be an adequate stopgap

I do think he's worse as Payton at least had the smarts to recognize the D

Valid points, but as far as Dirty being no worse than Manning last year? Physically? Certainly not. But Manning has came through in the clutch so many times (some will argue not so much in the post season, but he managed to make 4 SBs and win two), and Dirty has always done the exact opposite: When it matters most, he will become unhinged and do things like the "Butt Fumble."

Word is around here that BO wasn't coming back due to some very hard feelings w/Elway,Kub's. Apparently that 3rd qtr benching against SD was not well received as he was told he had a FIRM hold on the job. That said, he never had their confidence anyway. Dirty is said to be a piece of their plan. Should be very interesting.

They are getting 2 3rd round comp picks next year for Jackson/Ostweiler. And there's a good chance 2017 comp picks will be tradeable, but even if not they'll have a minimum of 9 picks in the draft next year including 5 in the first 3 rounds. I think they have the pieces to move up substantially in this year's draft for a QB because they can potentially trade their 1&2 this year and a 2/3 next year and really not be that hurt overall.

Could be very depressing. Potentially going from champs to cellar dwellers. Sanchez has a career 38.9 QBR. Horrible! Just imagine them signing Johnny Football......bronco fans would be lining up to jump off the highest peak of the Rocky Mountains.

Sure but noodle arm kept throwing he ball to the wrong team.

NOT depressed at all. Here is what would be depressive..............
Had the new englend cheatriots won the SB, then for some miracle reason had their CHEATING WAYS stripped, NOW that would be DEPRESSING

Salute the nation

Those ******* fans are in meltdown mode right now in my area, I just walk around all day with a huge smile on my face.

My brother-in-law called the other day, said it looks like the Broncos/Steelers playoffs in Denver look to be over, but we could still visit anyway. I just laughed at him. Sometimes I wonder if I might not be the *******.

Weren't you the one saying the Steelers needed to pull any Elway?

And as pointed out, was throwing to the wrong team anyway. His arm was so shot teams didn't disguise anything and just sat on routes. Lets not forget why he was benched in the KC game to begin with. 5 complete passes, 4 INTs, a QBR (since that seems to be the go to stat for QB's now) of .1. His regular season stats finish with 9 TD's and 17 INT's, and he missed 6 games because of the "benching/injury".

Manning sure did come thru in the clutch last year in the playoffs huh? Oh wait...you mean he tried to throw away the Super Bowl, but was saved by Von Miller's absolute destruction of the Panthers OL? Say it isn't so. Again, a 7th round pick for a guy with starting experience, been to the playoffs, been to two AFCC games. By trading for a QB they will keep their chances for their comp picks next year, they can draft a QB this AND next year for all that matters.

Everyone is so hung up on repeating...I don't think the Broncos were ever a threat to repeat. They lost quite a few key players from that D, they lost both their QB's (and even with Brock their chances to repeat were low), they might lose their starting RB. This wasn't a young team on the rise much like the Panthers or the Seahawks, this was a team in the win now approach before Manning hung them up. They knew they would most likely be in a rebuild mode of sorts.

Besides, who would you have rather they gone after? Fitzgerald's name got brought up, but he has a history of folding under pressure as well. Look at what he did this year with a chance to get into the playoffs, he throws not one, but TWO key INTs late in the game. He has also never played in a playoff game. I'd pass on him too. There's nothing out there for QB's. I think it's a pretty solid move to fill a roster spot and not lose a chance at a comp pick. What other QB could they have got for a 7th round pick?
