Non-Steeler Free Agency thread

Chase Daniels gets a pretty big deal with the Eagles. 3-years, $21 million with $10 million guaranteed.

I guess that's it for Bradford.

They already extended Bradford. I suppose they could trade him to Denver or SF(imagine some sort of Bradford to SF, Kaep to Denver, pick to the Eagles type of deal maybe). Daniel got a reasonable deal and still has some upside.

Vernon to the Giants in Monster Deal.

Browns lost RT Shwartz to the Chiefs.....lol

Browns just lost Tashaun Gipson to Jacksonville..... :towel2:

Stellar quarterback depth chart for Philly...:livid:

Alex Mack - C - Falcons

Falcons signed C Alex Mack, formerly of the Browns, to a five-year contract..

Some of the show Hosts on the local afternoon Sportstalk radio station down here were happy like they hit the lotto. They were glad they got someone to protect their QB "Matty Ice". They even said Matt's wife sent out a Twitter msg about the deal. Also heard one of the host mention CB Brandon Boykins might be someone that the Falcons Coaches are interested in because he's from Georgia, plays CB, and could return punts too.

MMQB's Peter King reports the deal is worth $9.5 million per year. Mack reportedly could have made more by staying in Cleveland, but the allure of Falcons OC Kyle Shanahan was a factor. Mack played for Shanahan in Cleveland and is a great fit in his blocking scheme. With Mack on board, the Falcons will turn their attention to the hole at right guard. They have been linked with J.R. Sweezy.

Also lost Travis Benjamin to the Chargers.

who's playing for the browns next season? better yet, who wants to play for the browns? .... crickets

Raiders become Free Agent Champs every 3-4 years. Then they fire their coach and all their free agents signings don't fit the system anymore and they all suck. Then they go to cap hell for 2-3 years while "rebuilding" to just start this cycle all over again. It's great to watch as a Steelers fan.

Like watching old TV reruns, you know how the story will end. Get their hopes up off season. Only to flame out when it really matters.

Bruce Irvin signing with the Raiders.

That kid's got some serious character/behavior issues. If I recall, Seattle had like a personal body guard/life coach that shadowed him everywhere to keep him on the up and up. Now he's going to Oakland?? He's done.

I find the Osweiler situation funny as hell.

I wonder who the Donkeys pick up.

The way the Donkeys are build I would take Ryan Fitzpatrick. He's smart and will pick up the offense quick and will not lose any games for them. If they want a guy you can plug in and give yourself a chance at another bowl he's the only guy out there that can do it.

I'm not saying he's awesome but look at Osweiler and Manning last year. He can at the very least do that.

I agree with you but the talk is they're going to trade for Kaepernick.

I view that as kind of a reach. Anyway it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

I just love the fact that Osweiler gave the Donks the proverbial middle finger.

Report: Texans, Brock Osweiler agree to 4-year, $72M deal
Caitlyn Holroyd Mar 9, 2016 15:08
The Denver Broncos are in the market for a new quarterback.

Brock Osweiler is leaving the team after four seasons, agreeing to a deal in principle with the Houston Texans, according to NFL Network's Rand Getlin.

Osweiler is joining the Texans on a monster four-year contract worth $72 million, reports Adam Schefter of ESPN.

It was reported earlier Wednesday that the Broncos "ramped up" their efforts to retain Osweiler before free agency officially opened, but it appears they were unable to meet the offer he was able to land elsewhere.

"This is not a surprise. It was clear to John (Elway) last week that (Osweiler) didn't want to be here," a source told NFL Network's Jeff Darlington.

Elway "drew a line in the sand" on an offer in the mid-$16 million per year range with $30 million guaranteed, Darlington reports.

Osweiler saw the most extensive action of his career last season with seven starts. He posted a 5-2 record, completing 61.8 percent of his passes for 1,967 yards with 10 touchdowns and six interceptions.

I think brock made the wrong decision, for two more millions a year (in context less than 15% of the contract) he left a perfect place to compete for a ring, he had that high powered defense and good WRs to help him. Guess he got really pissed for being benched for the playoffs run
