It's been 6 years since we've been to a Super Bowl.

It's been 8 years since we won one.

It's been over a decade since Cowher won his 1st.

It's been 20 years since Cowher's 1st one.

The time is now or never.

We had our two non-winning seasons in the course, it's time to win it all.

No excuses.

No more twiddling our thumbs.

We need to pull an "Elway" and add the players we need without making excuses.

We may never have another Big Ben again in our lifetimes. It's not or never.

Do we have the brains to make this happen now, or are we looking at another 20 years without a ring, like the 80's and 90's?

the turkey trots to water where is task force 38 the world wonders.

Another stupid post by a mental midget. Time to put trash on the ignore button.

Today is only Feb. 27th. The NFL league year starts on March 9th and the first game won't be played until Sept. 8th. A lot is going to happen between now and then. And, that's even before we play a single game. Put on your big boy pants and relax. Everyone wants to win. Big Ben has more than few good years left (as long as we can keep him upright).

The arrow is pointing up. We're in the lab. Stones are being overturned. We got this. R-E-L-A-X.

10 monkeys jumping on a bed.
1 fell out and bumped his head.
Mother called the doctor and he said.
No more monkeys jumping on the bed.

POP is right in the sense that the Steelers need to help Ben more.

If Heath and Martavis catch those passes deep in Broncos territory, that basically hit them right in the chest, the Steelers win that playoff game

Relative to the circumstances, painful throwing shoulder and no AB, Roethlisberger was awesome in that divisional playoff game.

there are 32 teams in the NFL... One wins the superbowl, therefore a fanbase should reasonably expect a super bowl win at least once in 32 years
there are 32 teams in the NFL.... Two teams make the superbowl, therefore a fanbase should reasonably expect a super bowl appearance at least once in 16 years
there are 16 teams in the AFC.... Two teams make the AFC CG, therefore a fanbase should reasonably expect an AFC CG game appearance at least once every 8 years
there are 4 teams in NFL Divisions.... One teams must win that division every year, therefore a fanbase should reasonably expect a division win at least once every 4 years
there are 16 teams in the AFC.... Six teams make the AFC Playoffs, therefore a fanbase should reasonably expect a playoff appearance roughly at least once every 3 years

Are we doing ok with those standards? I think so

Damn 6 years since the last Super Bowl. Time does fly. I feel old lol

Pull an Elway? What, draft Tim Tebow in the 1st round?

Elway's Super Bowl Champion team damn near had their season ended by a Steelers team playing without LeVeon Bell, DeAngelo Williams and Antonio Brown, and you think the Steelers should follow his lead?

WELL said and remember, Ben was ailing also from a birth defect.

Salute the nation

Funny thing is, I can still remember sitting outside the gun club where we went to watch the 95 superbowl. I remember balling my eyes out and the pain I felt since it took us so long to get back.

Add to that, when you always have to score 30+ to win, that is asking too much of Ben. Notice how Manning won a ring this year? He had a solid D. We can't be 30th in the league in pass D and hope to win a ring. Just doesn't work.

That argument is nonsensical. A win is a win; scoreboard. What, should we criticize the 70's Steelers because of their 1975 draft? Elway put a team together that won a ring; the rest of this stuff is all superfluous.

How do we know that the Steelers will not make the moves that need to be made. I think the organization is well aware of the window of opportunity with Ben and AB and its going to start closing soon. They want to win more than anyone and know the weaknesses of this football team. I think it will start with new contracts to De Castro and Timmons which will lower the cap. I think they will release Cortez Allen after June 1'st and try and trade Suisham which will both lower the cap. I think they will get Bell locked up now. I think they address safety by bringing in Berry or Weddle and signing one of them to play with Mitchell. I think they will re-sign Big Play Willie Gay and try and re-sign Boykin. I think they will also re-sign safety Robert Golden as well. I think between the two that they re-sign Beachum and let Foster test F/A. They probably bring in a mid tier F/A for CB knowing that they also have Golson coming back.

Draft: BPA: I think if he's there they take the TE from Arkansas who I think would be able to come in and start. 2'nd round probably best CB available. 3'rd round best defensive lineman available.

We just need to be patient and things will fall into place but I think what I stated above may come to fruition or at least most of it will.

Didn't Wheaton drop a TD early in that game, hit him right in the hands in the endzone, or am i thinking of another game?

I think what POP is basically saying is if we have to mortgage some of the future to try to win now, then I'm all for it.

Whenever Ben retires, this team is finished making the playoffs for a while. Its was obvious how much he meant to the team when he missed time.

Cope is 100% correct. The time to win is now.

We stay healthy and we are right in the discussion. We got banged up and couldn't finish off the team that ultimately won the Super Bowl, the same team we beat at home a few weeks prior.

I never said they wouldn't. But, trend analysis indicates they won't make a move for a significant free agent, like Elway did with Ware and Talib.

You're probably right.

Overall, being patient is OK with me, but they can take it too far. At some point, you got to "go for it."

That time is NOW.

Arguing Elway's free agency decision making was the difference in both the AFC divisional and championship games is nonsense.

But let's test your argument: Would you be in favor of the Steelers paying Manning what the Broncos paid him last year to be an insurance policy for oft-injured Ben?

When Ben retires, the roster MIGHT have 12 guys who are on this roster now.

That is accurate, although, even if we were less banged up, our pass D still sucked balls. I doubt we beat NE and/or Panthers with that pathetic backfield. We were 30th in pass D. Show me any team who wins a ring with a 30th-ranked pass D.

you are under the presumption Steelers secondary will be identical to last years fielded mess......

free agency and the draft still awaits

I know what he was saying.

I was just trying to illustrate what the Steelers have in Ben, and why they should be pushing harder to win now than they currently are.

Despite the circumstances, all the injuries, dropped passes, and the Troussant fumble, Ben performed much better than Brady or Newton did against that Broncos defense.

I totally think they should aggressively pursue an Eric Berry, Janoris Jenkins, or Josh Norman: something that would put the team over the top in Ben's remaining prime years.

I don't think that's the same cause Manning sucks. They paid him for how he had been preforming. Not the **** they got last year.
