Yep, it's all over twitter, he was like having another linemen out there sometimes, that part of his game will really be missed.

Just saw this. One of my all time favorite Steelers. He will be missed, and good on him for going out on his own terms.
A great Pittsburgh Steeler. Thanks for the great all around TE that you were, the best all around TE of your time.

HEATH! !!!

Thank you for all your efforts!!

Heeeeaath!!

I'm actually shocked, I thought he had at least another year left in him. Definitely going to miss him and all he brought to the team.
I'm sure the players are going to miss his professionalism and leadership.
He was one of a kind and one of my favorite Steelers of all time.

Thank you for playing your heart out every week!!
Enjoy Retirement, Heath.. you definitely earned it!

So I guess it's Jesse James and Spaeth? Big shoes to fill there.

I'd think they will add one somewhere in the first 4 rounds of the draft. One to watch is Nick Vannett from Ohio State, maybe available in round 3.

My guess is you'll see more 4 WR sets as a result.

WOW....seems like just yesterday he was drafted. Thank you Heath. I'm glad you were a Steeler.

Hate to hear this, talk about a true professional player, came to work, played hard did what was asked and never a whimper from Heath. He will be truly missed buy us fans as well as the Steelers. nothing but the best for Heath.

Heath Miller was one of the more under rated tight ends. We are going to miss him big time.

This changes everything... unless James is thought to be good enough to fill in. Spaeth is ok but he's no Heath Miller.

Thanks for 11 years of great football #83. Another jersey getting framed and up on the wall! Hope Matt Spaeth and Jesse James are ready to step into the limelight.

NO!!!!! Not ready for him to retire yet. Thanks for everything Heath! Wish you the best in retirement.

Well, our draft board just changed fairly dramatically.

Now we have CB, S, OLB, TE and maybe OT/OG as high priorities.

Spaeth absolutely can not help in receptions; he's terrible at catching. James, we're not sure about. But he ain't no Heath. Wow, for a team favored as high as ANY team, we sure do have a lot of holes to fill.

If we can trade down and pick up a 2nd or 3rd, we probably should.

Neither Spaeth nor James can block like Miller, that's where he'll be missed most.

This changes the off-season. Now you have to sign a veteran who can start immediately. They didn't need to break the bank, just get a solid blocker.

Rams just cut TE Jared Cook along with Chris Long and Laurinaitus.

Troy and then Heath. Two of my all-time favorites.

First thanks to Heath you personified a true Steeler!

Our team certainly didn't get better today.

Now do you think this was because of the beating Heath has taken the last few years or was he going to be cut?

i wasn't prepared for this. Not yet. He is a staple to our O and Ben. What a huge gap we now have to fill. Sad day.

Thank you Heath! All class and tough as nails.

Wow, this was unexpected. I hoped he could've made it one more year but a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. I hope it wasn't a forced retirement like Troys was

He will be missed. Now TE, along with CB, S and pass rusher are needs.

Best of luck to Miller in his retirement.
