Omalu on OJ

Oj was always a creepy guy.. I dont think brain damage helped, but stalky psyco stories about him go way back well before the 90's murders... The guy was just always derailed and people ignored it till it was too late... Like when he broke into that rock star's apartment in the middle of the night... Creepy
 
Kind of ironic that the author claims OJ has CTE. ONLY way to tell for, I think, is to cut him open...............

For the record, my take on Omalu is that he takes too much credit for findings that weren't solely his... I think he is a egomaniac and an attention ***** who has overdramatized too much to be taken seriously at this point...

Where do you get your opinion on Omalu? He found it in football, and did so at his own personal financial investment. Not sure also how he could ***** attention when the league was trying to destroy his career and discredit him in his field.

a lot of those stories are disputed... and have you read his statements... he is absurd... there is a ton of people who say he wasn't the first to find any of the things he claims either... http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_29271948/experts-concussion-claims-are-exaggerated

There are some who claim they had found warnings of traumatic brain injury from contact sports long before him as well...

If you hear him he flips out when anyone disputes anything he says.... and many have nothing to due with football... the guy is a creep IMO... even if what he says is correct.

I base it on his statement, "I would bet my medical license that he has CTE," Omalu said.

I would not bet my professional license on anything I don't directly control. His statement evidences the type of all-knowing, "I know better than you" attitude that makes me suspect he is an egomaniac.

Also, he is a doctor. You know the joke about doctors:

A doctor dies and goes to heaven. St. Peter meets him at the pearly gates and checks him in. After he’s registered, St. Peter says to him, "Look at the time: you must be hungry! Heaven Cafeteria is serving lunch, why don’t you get yourself something to eat?" The doctor goes to the cafeteria and notices the long line. He immediately cuts in at the front, only to hear loud protests. "I’m a doctor" he says, "I’m a busy man, I don’t have time to wait in line." The others say, "You’re in heaven now, we’re all the same here, get to the back of the line and wait your turn!"

A few weeks later, waiting patiently on line for lunch, the doctor notices a man come dashing in wearing scrubs and a lab coat, stethoscope around his neck. He butts in at the head of the line and no one utters a peep. "Hey," he says to the guy in front of him, "Who does that guy think he is?"

"Oh, that’s God," says the guy, "He likes to play doctor."
 
Sounds like this could be a killer theory. I mean, hey, Omalu taking a stab at this theory. If he's correct, he could find himself riding off on a white Bronco.
 
Thanks for explaining Steeltime. I've never heard the joke before, but at least I understand your reasoning.

I can see how you think the statement is arrogant. I personally don't think he's wrong, but perhaps he could have said it differently. OJ is messed up, and the onset happened early after football. After he was a media darling, doing Samsonite commercials and starring in Naked Gun. Then all the sudden he can't function in society. I'd say he's a prime suspect for CTE as well. Too bad we have to wait for him to pass to confirm it.
 
I think the more this CTE issue is pushed. The more it is going to affect the game of football
