Ben could be the last elite QB in the AFC for the next 3 years or more. Brady will play at the age of 39 next season. I think we start to see his age next year for sure. Peyton Manning is done. In fact, I think the Panthers will officially retire him in a couple weeks. There is no reason why the Steelers should not own the AFC for the next 3 years. If we take care of business in our division, who else is out there? Jacksonville maybe?

If Manning takes the BRoncos to a Super Bowl win, he would be wise to retire right then and there! His skills are diminishing and there is no way he can do this again. Get out while you are on top.....just like Jerome Bettis did!

Three or more years? Mariota and Luck might step up their games. Flacco and Rivers aren't that far behind, especially if they get more weapons. I'm not counting on Brady's decline just yet.

Never really thought about that, but there will be a small window where Ben is going to be the best QB in the AFC. Steelers need to capitalize on that.

Brady is going to play for another ten years or so he says......fuckstick that he is, will get broken before his 10year prediction. Payton is toast, rivers isn't going to become a force all of a sudden, that team needs more than 2yrs to catch up. FLACCO is what he is, just not elite. Luck may have a shot, but I think he has regressed and Marriota will have film on him now and regress to a degree (sophmore slump). Three or so pieces on "D" and we we can enjoy the BEST QB in the AFC.

Salute the nation

Brady is almost certainly HGHing.. Manning too.. I dont know if Ben will or wont try to prolong his career with the **** in four years or so... Peyton and brady's arm strength getting a boost in their late 30s is suspicious for sure

Don't sleep on Carr with the Raiders either.

Problem is gonna be the Panthers in the NFC. They are in excellent shape to dominate for years. 17-1 without their best WR all year ain't bad, and Cam keeps getting better. They built the D right from the inside out. Awesome D line, best LB in football patrolling the middle, a great run game, emerging young OL. While we have a great shot to be a top team in the AFC for the next few years the Panthers look like their arrow is really pointing up for a good long run of dominance as well.

If we can build our D back up from the inside out we should be able to make a run at another SB or 2 with Ben. Let's get that big nasty NT so Shazier can shine, another pass rusher for the front 7 a S and a lockdown corner and ride!

As I sit here right now, I am very confident in saying our D will be a good bit better next year. We won't be a top 5 D but I can easily see top 15 with much fewer mental mistakes and better consistency. The big thing again for us to win it all will be injuries. If we stay relatively healthy (Ben, AB and Bell all play most of the regular season and all through the playoffs), we can beat anyone.

I might get blasted for this, but Joe Flacco is an elite QB as well. The rest of the Conference has some catching up to do, but as others have mentioned, Luck, Carr and the young guns are pretty damn good. I think Luck can tun into an elite QB if he gets some help...but come on...its Indy.

As for Brady. Yeah, he might be juicing, he might be hormonal, but dude still looks like he's in his 20's...

Flacco elite? Come on, the guy has a Big arm he uses to throw a lot of bombs, then wait for the flag to advance on the field. That's basically the ravens offensive gameplan, counting on the refs help to score.

If he stays on track, Tyrod Taylor will be an elite QB. Derek Carr has shown strong signs that he could be a top QB.

The jury is still out on Mariota and Luck, we'll see. But I count 4 potential elite QBs amongst the young guys.

I think some people here are using the word Elite too lightly. There sure are good, great QBs and then you have elite, those who carry the team and covers its deficiencies with outstanding play. Elite is a word kept for only the best of the best, tyrod Taylor, mariota, carr elite? Gtfo

I can't believe I have read this entire thread and not read Aaron Rodgers name...

Peyton should retire. His body cannot endure another season. He was fortunate to have the foot injury in the middle of the season...it didn't end his season but it did allow his body to rest and be fresh for the playoffs. Anyway, Peyton will not be back with the Broncos...they know his body is finished and they are going to re-sign Brock Osweiler (who is a free agent). By retiring Peyton would at least save the Broncos from having to cut him (which they will do whether they win or lose in two weeks).

Male athletes naturally get bigger and stronger as they approach 40.

I heard this same thing about the SeaChickens a few years back. While they are still a force, they are beatable. The Panthers will be also.

Flacco had one elite playoff run. The best of any QB ever. He is not an elite QB though. I saw him play this year.

Great point. One playoff run, and that run was GIFTED to them.

Denver gave the game away on the last play of the AFC championship. And the Ravens were allowed to hold like a ******* mama bear all game (especially on the punt return for TD). No way they deserved that super bowl. Jump ball Joe is VERY GOOD, but not elite.

Bingo. I'm not worrying about a team in the NFC that we won't play (outside of the Super Bowl) until 2018. Things change week-to-week in the NFL, a juggernaut becomes a joke with an injury or two. If we can make it out of the AFC, I'm willing to face the NFC Pro Bowl team in the Super Bowl.

Jacoby Jones made that SB possible. Without him, they don't even sniff the AFCC.

The announcers this past Sunday made it a point to comment on the fact that Brady is moving much more nimbly in the pocket, and his elusiveness has definitely improved. Additionally, they pointed out that his arm strength is as good as it has ever been.

Interesting how a guy in his late 30's gets more agile and develops more arm strength. Must be that "conditioning coach" who partnered up with the Patriots.

Could be he's born with it? Maybe It's HGH...
