Draft Game? Why not...

Been messing with this all day. Did numerous where I traded down. Finally did one where I traded up any takers

YOUR TEAM: PITTSBURGH STEELERS
GAME OVER!
New Draft Home (Scores)

Your score is: 6680 (GRADE: A-)

Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 6 (BALT): Vernon Hargreaves III, CB, Florida (A-)

Round 3 Pick 3 (S.D.): Greg Pyke, OG, Georgia (A-)

Round 3 Pick 25: Bryce Williams, TE, East Carolina (B-)

Round 3 Pick 29 (N.E.): Chris Jones, DT/DE, Mississippi State (A-)

Round 4 Pick 4 (S.D.): Karl Joseph, SS, West Virginia (A+)

Round 4 Pick 25: Eric Murray, CB, Minnesota (B)

Round 7 Pick 8: Kevin Hogan, QB, Stanford (A-)

Round 7 Pick 25: Daniel Braverman, WR, Western Michigan (A+

Would love to get Hargreaves, we're just too far away at this point and it would take a future 1st to jump into the top 10 which is a very risky move. Although if he falls outside of the top 12 (which is looking highly unlikely), we should try to work out something without giving up a future 1st. I'd gladly give up a 1st and 2nd this year for Hargreaves and a 5th round pick. I'd rather have the "sure thing" than 2 above average prospects. Then target one of the safeties in the 3rd and go LB 4th or 5th. That would go a long way in addressing needs and taking the best DB in the draft.

Exactly what I did. Traded away next year's first for hopefully a blue chip can't miss prospect. Plug and play.

This site seems to suck. I finally did a draft with trades and got a great score but there is no way to go back and see your draft. All it shows is your previous scores. So, if you don't write down your draft at that moment, you lose it forever, other than the score. Did I miss something? Is there a place to go back and see who you drafted?

Mine shows all my picks under my score after the draft is complete. Not sure what happened to yours.

It does that but if you don't record the picks right then, they disappear and only your score shows up. At least, that's what I'm seeing. I did 4 or 5 drafts yesterday and went to see my picks today and it just has the scores.

Copy Paste...

Sure but it would have been nice to know that when I did the draft. You would figure since you sign up for an account, it would record your drafts, not just the score. Seems very basic.

Did this one this morning. Traded down and went heavy on D.

Your score is: 6727 (GRADE: A-)

Your Picks:
Round 2 Pick 12 (L.A.): Kendall Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech (A-)
Round 2 Pick 25: Austin Johnson, DT, Penn State (A-)
Round 2 Pick 27 (G.B.): Jayron Kearse, SS, Clemson (A)
Round 3 Pick 25: KeiVarae Russell, CB, Notre Dame (A+)
Round 3 Pick 27 (G.B.): Bryce Williams, TE, East Carolina (B)
Round 4 Pick 25: Nile Lawrence-Stample, DT, Florida State (A)
Round 4 Pick 27 (G.B.): Chris Jones, DT/DE, Mississippi State (A+)
Round 7 Pick 8: Dominick Jackson, OT, Alabama (D-)
Round 7 Pick 25: Tony Conner, SS, Ole Miss (B)

Heavy D but wanted to get a couple O linemen to compete. Took a flier on a WR in the 7th.

Your score is: 7692 (GRADE: A)

Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 31 (CAR): Desmond King, CB, Iowa (B)
Round 2 Pick 32 (CAR): Su'a Cravens, OLB/SS, Southern California (A+)
Round 3 Pick 10 (MIA): Austin Johnson, DT, Penn State (A+)
Round 3 Pick 25: Karl Joseph, SS, West Virginia (A)
Round 3 Pick 31 (ARI): Nick Vannett, TE, Ohio State (A)
Round 4 Pick 9 (MIA): Denver Kirkland, OT/OG, Arkansas (B+)
Round 4 Pick 25: Christian Westerman, OG, Arizona State (A)
Round 5 Pick 8 (MIA): Kevon Seymour, CB, Southern California (B)
Round 7 Pick 8: Matt Ioannidis, DT, Temple (A+)
Round 7 Pick 25: Jordan Williams, WR, Ball State (A+)

Totally unrealistic trade backs

Round 2 Pick 5 (BALT): Eli Apple, CB, Ohio State (B+)
This is 100% going off of talent pick. He's big, strong, fast and if he plays every snap like he can a #1 CB.

Round 2 Pick 25: Kyle Murphy, OT, Stanford (B)
I know we have Beachum we have Villanueza but Beachum is a FA and Adams is a FA so this give us a swing OT and maybe a future starter.

Round 2 Pick 32 (CAR): Vonn Bell, SS, Ohio State (A+)
Bell is a hard nosed SS that is a sure tackler.

Round 3 Pick 25: Vernon Butler, DT, Louisiana Tech (B+)
True NT for the 34. Can take on blocks and keeps the ILB clean.

Round 4 Pick 6 (BALT): Bryce Williams, TE, East Carolina (B+)
Pass catching TE to compete with James and Miller for playing time.

Round 4 Pick 25: D.J. White, CB, Georgia Tech (B)
Very underrated CB in this draft. Has the feet, hands, reads routes, speedy, perfect cover 2 CB.

Round 6 Pick 7 (BALT): C.J. Prosise, RB, Notre Dame (A+)
Prosise is a versatile player who can run, catch, and block. Reminds me a lot of Hines Ward but I settle him in a RB and feel he can be a perfect replacement if Bell does down.

Round 7 Pick 1 (TENN): Eric Mac Lain, OG, Clemson (C-)
Smart gritty interior lineman.

Round 7 Pick 8: Anthony Zettel, DE, Penn State (A)
Very underrated D-lineman. Uses his hands well, stacks and sheds. Should compete for playing time.

Round 7 Pick 25: Brandon Allen, QB, Arkansas (C+)
Probably settles on the PS but I feel will compete for the backup spot in year two.

I would like that one! But Fuller and Kearse lasting that long is unlikely! Just saying...

We could be lucky this year. How? What they heck are you talking about Coach! I'll tell you why.

Having a good draft partly depends on having a deeper talent pool at positions of need! Although we pick later in each round, the depth at DB and Pass rusher seem good. Perhaps not many elite level players, but lots of guys who can play! I see the TE position in a similar way.

I've run the draft simulations several times and Kendall Fuller has been available every time at 1/25. Now, at TDX's 2/12 slot?...that's a gamble and a half!

He has been available in all drafts I have done. I have done 6 or 7 and have traded out of the 1st in 4 or 5 and he has still been available in the 2nd round. As Coach said, not sure any of these guys would last that long but if they did......

Your Future Picks:
2017 Round 1 Pick
2018 Round 1 Pick

Traded 1st and 2nd to move up for Hargreaves. Traded back in the 3rd since none of the safeties fell to get an extra 4th and 5th.

I have zero confidence in any mock, draft game, whatever that has stud CBs falling too far down the board.

I agree, no way will you see all the trading and guys like Hargreaves falling out of the top 15 or Fuller falling to the end of round 2. It's still fun to dream and play a little GM during the offseason lol You'd have to be pretty naive to think ANY mock draft will pan out in real life.

I use it more to get familiar with the names and where to expect guys to come off the board. It's a nice tool to learn more than just the top 20-30 prospects. I remember taking Cockrell in the later rounds of most of my mocks so I was familiar with the name when we picked him up (even though the Steelers didn't draft him). Same with Martayvis, he would fall to the Steelers in the 3rd/4th, despite his late 2nd round grade, when I would do some mocks so it was pretty cool to see it actually play out that way during the real draft.

Not draft game just a mock going off of CBS prospect rating.

RD1(25)- Kendall Fuller CB VT ranked 43rd
I know I "reach" with Fuller but I just don't think he falls out of the first round. In fact I will say that I believe he will be a top 20 pick so us getting him at 25 would be a steal. He has nice size, speed, and definitely has ball skills.

RD2(57)- Darian Thompson S Boise St ranked 56
I know we draft 57 and he's rated 56 but it's one spot from our pick. I think Thompson is a rangy ballhawk type safety who ha 14 career interceptions. He does a nice job tracking the ball and reading the QB eyes.

RD3(89)- Nick Vannett TE Ohio State ranked 91
Vannett I feel never had a breakout season because of how they used him at OSU. He did a lot of blocking which he is good at but the 6-6 265lb TE I feel could have been used more in the passing game. This pick probably gets rid of Spaeth and might put pressure on Miller to lower his cap number with the emergence of Jesse James.

RD4(121)- DJ White CB Georgia Tech ranked 132
I feel White is a very underrated CB. He has swivel hips, read and reacts, jumps routes, good hands, and has good speed. With Blake and Gay free agents we might need 2 CB's just to replace them on the roster.

RD7(200)- Tyler Johnstone OT Oregon ranked 201
Johnstone has great athleticism and power and can mirror any defender but due to 2 ACL tears in the same knee might be off a few boards for medical. If healthy he could have been a first round OT though and if he checks out medically why not take the chance. Also, Beachum and Adams are free agents so getting a OT might end up being a need if neither re-sign.

RD7(217)- Connor McGovern OG Missouri ranked 224
McGovern is strong as a horse with nibble feet. He can really use that power to knock defenders off their balance. Foster is a free agent and that's why I go back to the O-line well just incase we can't get him signed.

Looking at this draft we really need to move back unless a steal falls in our laps. We are short on picks and have several needs. I couldn't even get us a DT or DE for depth because we just don't have the ammo. If we could work out a deal to move back to the early part of round two with a Cleveland or San Diego it would be nice.

I'm just very high on Fuller. I think the kid is legit. Would love to get Hargreaves, but he'll be gone before 15...maybe even 10 so no way he suits up in Pittsburgh unless there's a hell of a trade...and the Steelers just don't do that very much. I would be thrilled to get Fuller at 1/25

Other guys I really like in this draft are:
Eli Apple - CB - Ohio State
Brice Williams - TE - ECU
Keanu Neal - S - Florida (yep, I'm the resident Gator fan)
Kevin Hogan - QB - Stanford (late-round flyer)...I just love Hogan. He's big, has a decent arm and had to come lead Stanford on the heels of Andrew Luck...and Stanford got BETTER. He lost his Father last year and really had to battle through adversity. Did you see that game-winning drive vs. Notre Dame? Holy cow... He's not Aaron Rodgers, or Big Ben...but he could be a solid reserve guy and would be a better option than Landry Jones.

He has been available in all drafts I have done. I have done 6 or 7 and have traded out of the 1st in 4 or 5 and he has still been available in the 2nd round. As Coach said, not sure any of these guys would last that long but if they did......

If we could get Kendall Fuller in the top of the 2nd round and pick up a pick, that would be AMAZING

Did this draft without trading back. Something probably a little more realistic. Turned out OK but no O-line depth. I went mostly with BPA while also keeping in mind needs. In this one, Fuller was gone by our pick in the first so I took Apple.

Your score is: 6641 (GRADE: A-)

Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 25: Eli Apple, CB, Ohio State (B)
Round 2 Pick 25: Jayron Kearse, SS, Clemson (A-)
Round 3 Pick 25: Chris Jones, DT/DE, Mississippi State (B+)
Round 4 Pick 25: Eric Murray, CB, Minnesota (B)
Round 7 Pick 8: Matt Ioannidis, DT, Temple (A+)
Round 7 Pick 25: Jordan Williams, WR, Ball State (A+)

You all have created a monster! Never did a mock draft until this year - just a couple days ago. Now, I can't stop. WTF!

Anyhow, went a different direction in the 1st and picked a DT. Then, Apple was still there in the 2nd, which made the pick even better. Stuck to not trading picks as the more probable case. No safety help or O-line depth but I'd take this draft or even the last one I did. Ioannidis and WIlliams are great value in the 7th round.

Your score is: 7404 (GRADE: A)

Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 25: Andrew Billings, DT, Baylor (A+)
Round 2 Pick 25: Eli Apple, CB, Ohio State (A)
Round 3 Pick 25: Bryce Williams, TE, East Carolina (B-)
Round 4 Pick 25: Maurice Canady, CB, Virginia (A-)
Round 7 Pick 8: Matt Ioannidis, DT, Temple (A+)
Round 7 Pick 25: Jordan Williams, WR, Ball State (A+)

I definitely like the trade options available and think those type of options are available when teams pick. Teams get calls they may not take them but they get calls like the ones we are seeing. That being said I do think we may listen more this year to add couple more picks.

I like the idea of Reed/Robinson or Billings if one slips in rd 1. Helps our front 7 and our pass rush big time. Also want to watch Lee of OSU and Jones of LSU along with Cravens in the all star games /combine for SS. CB's look pretty close after Hargraves and he has to show a sub 4.5 to be as high as he is.

While this isn't part of the game I'm posting my first 2016 mock draft here.

At this point, I'm aiming for needs and trying to match them with value in the round. Obviously, things will change after the college all-star games ( love senior bowl practices! ) the combine, drug tests, and interviews.

But for now, this will do.

Round 1 ) Kendall Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech. A skilled taller corner who makes a lot of plays on the ball.

http://www.hokiesports.com/football/players/fuller_kendall.html

Round 2 ) OLB Shaq Lawson. He's a first round pass rusher in my book, but I see mock drafts have him in round two! Might be a one year wonder and tweener type, so workouts are very important. With Harrison likely retiring, we've got nada at OLB.

http://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/shaq-lawson-1.html

Round 3 ) OLB Noah Spence. Very productive in his first year starting at OSU. High upside. Smart. A younger prospect

http://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/noah-spence-1.html

Round 4 ) FS DeAndre Houston-Carson. A small school star with intriguing measurables, upside, and stastics. Could be an all-star on special teams.

Round 5 - Trade pick for Boykin
Round 6 - Traded pick for Scobee

Round 7 - BPA OL.
