If you look at it that way, it kind of gives you a different perspective.

Most teams would be pretty happy with that.

If we make it to the AFCC game, you have to feel pretty good.

If we make it to the SB, you have to feel the staff did a nice job.

If we win the SB, then all complaining about Tomlin is probably pretty much over for at least a few years.

There, Coolie, a non-negative post about Cool Shades. Happy?

lol this won't end well I fear.........................

Do you even know coolie?

I know coolie is super awesome, bleeds black n gold, generally sensible, Oh and...................intercepts Rex's mail as he too is feet sensitive....!!!!!!

Salute the nation

And even if the Steelers go on and win #7....the second one of you brilliant posters here dislike a call in the first preseason game next year, you will be calling for his head....

oh you know we will be complaining about the wording of his victory presser long before the preseason... and his draft picks too...

If the Steelers somehow win the Super Bowl this year, I pledge to stop pulling my hair out over Tomlin's stupid clock management and in-game decisions, like calling an unnecessary timeout with 1:07 left in the half on first down from the 17, thus allowing his opponent more time to put points up. Or declining a penalty to take 2nd-and-goal at the 2 instead of 1st-and-goal at the 3.

And I'll shut up about the guy. I promise. I'll be so happy, it won't matter anymore.

I personally liked the hire initially, but 9 years into it I do get frustrated by the things he never improves on.... He isn't the worse coach in the league... he may be the worse coach in the top ten, but even if that's true he isn't all that different than the worse coach in the top 5... he is replaceable, just like Cowher... he isn't some grand innovator or strategic genius... hes a guy who hasn't totally f'd up a team with a franchise QB and yet still one who hasn't won a playoff game since 2010 with that same guy either. He also is very lucky that the bills won, because there would be a very hot seat this offseason if the past 5 years read "missed the playoffs 3 times and lost a home game to the hated Ravens, also lost to Tim Tebow...."

yeah, that ******* is NEVER happy

POP, that was not a positive post about Tomlin. Not even the most clueless posters here would believe that.....

How is it not positive? I can accept that you wear black & gold color glasses; you are a fan. Fans are often that way. But to claim that post is in no way positive, well, your bias is showing, but it's OK.

Let me tell you something anyone who is crowing about Mike Tomlin or Ben Roethlisberger today is a simple. The Steelers are in the playoffs because the Browns are that ****** bad and Rex really wanted to stick it to the Jets who are poor on the road.

Where are all the ******* who whined that we lost to the Chefs?

Cowher was in the playoffs 10 out of 15 years, coached in six AFCCG's and two SB's, winning one. I remember people on this board constantly bitching about marty ball and wanting him gone, and that was with ****** QB's, so why would we expect anything different with Tomlin, especially since he needs 4 more AFCCG's in the next five years to match Cowher. I'm not a fan of Tomlin's but even if he were to win the three SB's and win over the doubters (such as me) there would still be some calling for his job. It's just the way things are around these parts.

Even though I don't really care for Tomlin's coaching, every year I pull for him to get better and win it all. I am a steeler fan I don't need to be a fan of the coach's to want them to be successful. BTW I aint a fan of Butler's either, but I sure hope he gets this defense turned around fast.

that shows your thought process....

6 of 9 is the same percentage as Cowher's 10 of 15. This means we've been in the playoffs 16 of the last 24 seasons. Is anyone besides NE close to that?

OK, Denver has made the playoffs 13 times in the same period. NE 17 times, Indy 16 times.

Or how hardball wanted to stick us last week, or how the Dolphins said **** you cheaters (until the pulled the a team), or how .....any given week. We are in and that is all that matters. It's what we do from now on is what counts.

I am a fan, but I am older and a realist. I understand that not everything about your team is going to be perfect. Often times the "flaws" people cry about are the same flaws every other team/coach has. But since some fans only focus on their team, they blow minor **** out of proportion and act like it is something only their team has to face.

Your post was a back handed smack to Tomlin and not "positive" as you keep claiming.

Like I said I've been doing cartwheels all night but when they lost control of their destiny last week and you can't even say they played great today against a guy I've never even heard of and forgot his name already on a team where the entire coaching staff is fired tonight. I wouldn't be padding my resume on that.

These fans notice every flaw about the Steelers, because they watch them every week. I watched the Giants about 7 times this year. If the Steelers, and Tomlin had done some of the headscratching things I saw the Giants do this year, heads around here would be exploding, and the Giants have a coach who will be at least looked at for the Hall of Fame. Many Ravens fans are convinced that Harbaugh is an idiot. It's hard to win in this league, and we do it at a level shared by only a handful of teams. 4 losing seasons in the last 24 (all under Cowher, and I don't want to hear about his quarterbacks sucking, since he's the one who picked them).

some here keep calling O'Brien a better coach than Tomlin...I've watched a bunch of Texans games this season and the **** that happens in those games makes the Tomlin look like a god

Steelers made the playoffs so that means there is no valid criticism of Tomlin.

you know what 8-8 isn't a winning season either, I personally get tired of the no losing season crap that Tomlin nut huggers use to define his greatness.Whats the difference of going 8-8 or 7-9 if you still miss the playoffs. Hell 9-7 still sucks in my opinion if you miss the playoffs.
