Looks like we are going to the playoffs.

This is probably the dumbest thing ive read in a long time.

Keep drinking the kool-aid, skippy.

I would very much like to see Tomlin hit the bricks, but I also like seeing them in the playoffs.

Maybe Tomlin has finally turned the corner, and learned from his mistakes, and will not hurt the team going forward.

Some ****** fan you are.........what fan is conflicted about his team in any fashion. You don't like the coach, too **** bad...root for the team. Its not about one person, one player....its the Steelers, hypercloids on the helmet, black and gold uniforms, proud franchise with lots of postseason visits and postseason success and an unheralded 6 championships.

If Tomlins presence bothers you that much switch your allegiance to another team with a coach you approve of.

Judas fans....ill tell you.

**** you.

I am conflicted with this, very badly.

Miss the playoffs, MAYBE it hurts Tomlin's chances of staying. Miss the playoffs, miss another chance to watch the Steelers play.

I sure hope they are not one and done, even though that may help move Tomlin down the road.

Looking forward to another possible Denver/Pittsburgh playoff game in Denver.

This is the mentality I don't understand. You'd rather the team lose to lose a coach then win. That's just ******* sad, pathetic too.

At no time did I ever wish them to lose. I would love to be wrong about Tomlin, and have him reel off 10 straight SB wins.

Go on Coach Cool Shades, prove all your haters wrong. I'm a big enough man to admit I am wrong about him, IF he can prove it.

I think he's saying he'd trade in a fleeting Wild Card berth for long-term growth and success.

I can't get on board with THAT.. playoffs are too unpredictable, and even though I don't think we're a top team this year, anything can happen and I'd trade the playoffs for nothing. But i get what he's saying and he's not a fake fan. If we were 2-13 I'd absolutely prefer we lost in Week 17 to secure the #1 pick, for example.

See this is where I get confused though because we have had long term growth and success.

Yet the odds are stacked against him and if/when he fails you can say.... see I told all so.

Well, we haven't won a playoff game in quite awhile and the defense is one of the league's worst. Been a step down from 2004-2010 in many ways

I just made a "fun bet" with a work colleague who's a KC fan. I told him in all sincerity that KC is the one team in the AFC side that I'm not at all concerned about. He said, "It seems to me we've got a win against your team." And I said - you've got a win against one of our backup quarterbacks and I think it was Mike Vick!" He replied, "Last I checked it was a team sport." and I said, "You want Mike Vick? You can play him instead of Alex Smith if you want."

He said, he thought Vick would be as good as Smith and I said Hell NO! Then I bet him that I could take all three of Vick's games and bet them against ANY three of Smith's games this season and Smith would come out on top. Then I took it further and said - Hell, I'll give you PRESEASON!

Admittedly, over three games, Vick threw for a few more yards than Smith did in four preseason games, but here's the breakdown...

Alex Smith Preseason 4 games (3 games projected in parenthesis)
Yards TDs Int sack fum Rate
294 (220.5) | 3 (2.25) | 2 (1.5) | 2 (1.5) | 0 |92.1 |

Mike Vick Regular Season
371 | 2 | 1 | 10 | 1 |79.8 |

Please, by all means take Vick. 10 fumbles. 10!
