Ben MUST get his head out of his *** for us to advance

Heath will need a little more separation to go to him more.

and those long bombs instead of moving the chains.... ugh

I'd like to see more 2Te sets with JJ. I know Jessie has a long way to come but he needs more opportunities.

If he could just bench Blake I think the odds would instantaneously go up for a long playoff run.

This is one of things that bugs me about Tomlin... I just don't get it. I don't have a clue why he can't begin the game with Blake on the bench.

Whatever it is, I hope he ***** it out by next week.

I don't like POP's regular negativity, but he is more correct than not this time. The Ben we all know and love vanished after the Broncos game, and didn't show up until the fourth quarter of this game.

The Ben I knew and loved from about 7 years ago, when I could count on him to lead comebacks regularly and pull the game out in the end, is the Ben I miss.

Guys, everyone needs to chill. We're in the playoffs man. I don't know about anyone else but I picked this team to go 8-8 prior to the season so they've exceeded my expectations. sure Ben has had a couple game slump here but remember, we don't even sniff the playoffs without him. Ben will be fine and step it up a notch in the playoffs as will the entire team. There won't be any givens and the competition stiffens which should bring out the best in the Steelers. If Ben gets hot which I have a feeling he will and the defense can just bend but not break, we can go deep.

Something isnt quite right.
Thats for sure. 3 consecutive multi pick games is not how you want to go into the post season.
I am wondering where #2 and #3 are, has seemed to spread it around as much.
Is it possibly just a typical seasonal illness?
Is it something with the offense that a non NFL level coach doesnt see? A tendency? Maybe a "tell" on Ben's part.
Is there an injury? I noticed after the second half interception when he mixed it up on the goal line, he was shown on the sideline dipping his fingers into what appeared to be a cup of liquid (water?) like he was a Catholic walking into church. Anyone else notice this? Hopefully whatever it is gets cleared up quick.

Ben is trying to do too much right now. He is looking exclusively down field rather than taking some of the safe throws that can still pick up yards. As long as he goes more disciplined with his approach he will be fine.

forcing it I agree

once he feels a little better and the challenge of a big game should help

Agreed. Ben looks like a qb who feels he has to score on every possession. Thus trying to do to much. He needs to be smarter

It wouldn't hurt to throw it in there, mix it up.

JJ seems like he could be a spark.

As unpredictable as possible....

I know, I know, some hate when others bring up a negative after a big win and making the post season, but I had to say it: If Ben doesn't reduce his imbecilic decisions to throw those awful picks, we won't do dick in the post season.

I understand he is a "gunslinger" and that means he will take chances, but taking chances is one thing; making completely irresponsible, moronic decisions to throw the ball right to defenders is another.

The only reason it was EVER a game today way due to horrid decisions by Ben, and it could have been worse. Why does he NOT realize that careless, idiotic throws will kill our chances. How many times in the last 3 games has he made ungodly throws right to defenders? He is not a rookie. There is no excuse for this.

And it seems like he gets a pass for it, so he has no reason to re-evaluate and fix it. '

I just can't believe they don't fix this.

We have no time left. He must stop the MORON throws NOW.

I have give this topic some thought. I think Ben has lost a little zip on his passes, possibly because he's throwing it so often. But your right. His not seeing the field well right now. Some of those interceptions were Crap throws and rookie like mistakes.

Ben was a huge reason we lost last week and he almost cost us this game. He has not looked himself for some reason. He doesn't appear injured but who knows. He is throwing picks at an alarming rate. I think he has around 15 for the season now. That is way too many, especially since he missed almost 4 full games.

Stop going for 30 yard bombs on third and manageable. Don't know if that's the call or BB read.
Start taking check downs and let them work for YAC.
Stop doing ****** stupid *** gimmick ****. Yeah I know it works sometimes.
Start going to the TEs more often.
Stop forcing it to AB when he is covered
Start getting the play off before 3 seconds

Easy fixes. We got this.

I am of the opinion that Jesse James is the next big deal. He's really impressed with the chances he's gotten. We need to work him into the game plan and exploit his matchup potential.

Did anyone notice when they were showing the Steelers sideline as news of the Jets loss was spreading around, they showed Ben and he seemed rather underwhelmed?

Isn't the reason obvious POP? It's like you told us last week, Ben is taking money to lose games lol

There isn't a man, woman or child that is connected to this team that doesn't need to step up and stop making bone headed decisions, and it can start with Tomlin making Blake watch the game from the side lines.

They need a "mega like" button. I just can't agree anymore than I do with this one. Tomlin keeping Blake on the field is pure madness.

What makes Ben great is also what causes him to throw a pick now and then. He throws passes other QBs wouldn't even attempt, and most of the time it works out. Sheesh, he had 350 yards, 3 TDs,and a 102 rating today even with the two picks. Ben is the least of our problems.

I felt the opposite.... I thought he perked up upon hearing the news....

I agree. I don't think he wanted to jump and down and celebrate. I sensed he was holding back cause he didn't want it to be so obvious.

He was definitely happy.

I'm not gonna say the least....6 Interceptions the last three games is substantial.....he's thrown 16 in 11.5 games....there's only two players with more. Today he came close to 3 more....that would have killed us vs even the Browns...he's not most of our problems but he's a big part of some of our loses to these ****** teams

Glad to see Ben's last two games. Hopefully he's gotten it out of us system. We just need a couple games like he had mid season last season.

Listen, Steelhurt, I totally get where you are coming from. I am psyched we made the post season. But with all that said, we just can't have Ben making these bone head decisions and expect to advance. Like others, I don't see any teams that are heads and shoulders better than us in the AFC, so we have a real shot at making the big show, and those chances don't come around that often (although they do come around with us more often than average). I just don't want to see us squander an opportunity like this one bone head decisions by Ben that should be avoided, that's all.

Oh, as as far as the comment by a poster saying I was taking a shot at Tomlin with my comment about the staff needing to stop accepting the poor decisions, I maintain that stance. If you (collective) didn't notice, after the dumb throw near the end of the Denver game, Ben said, "I said I guess I need to stop being a gunslinger and the coaches said to keep being me, and keep taking chances" so they encouraged the bone head stuff. They need top stop being enablers and tell him to ******* think out there.

like it or not , the team will live or die by bens throws,, and tomlins "gambles" from here out. We aren't going to run over anyone, at least it doesn't look that way.

We just squeaked it out over the clowns. Everyone has a hand in this "win".
